Additionally, the post afterwards I was just being a pain in the ass about overrating such stats and how you can manipulate stats to back up your pick. Not saying you did but information like this can lead to a misleading basis for a pick. That is just my view on it especially with small samples. Not that samples can get very big, since teams change during a year and even momentum changes. Just wanted to point out that such series can absoluley have no meaning when you talk about 5-10 events.

Anyway, still no reason to personally insult me. Rather ignore me if you dont like me or what i am saying. Again I am absolutely no expert. I have a couple of picks where i followed you especially your big plays.

It is nice that you have your own topic and i appreciate it that you do this. variance is huge so the fact you are down for NBA season does not tell me anything can be just variance. If you get out there you can get burned. But who cares anyway? The one who doesnt try will never succeed

revenge angles for all teams is not important, and i too sometimes pay attention to it when i shouldnt (ie NY vs Cle)....the knicks are not a great team thus backing them in revenge angles is questionable unless you have many other angles in your favor.

however, when you have a really good team (ie celtics) who got embarrassed (not just a 5 pt loss) vs the same opponent last game (at suns) then i think revenge angles mean a lot.

i love looking at the angle of spread ratios in all games. ie, maybe the mavs are great at home but when they lay big spreads (10-13 pts) they are 1-5 ats.

if 5-10 samples have no meaning then what does. im not going to put a lot of stock on prior seasons. i like to look more at current information. we're at the point of the nba season where the data is now in front of us.

not sure yet....looking at the card now. i wanted to bet the clippers, but cant with no eric gordon.

i dont know - looks too easy fading orl with no howard. i can see the home court advantage playing a factor and orl finding a way. with that said, im done making *sexy* bets like this on orl....burnt me too many times this year taking plays like that.

Monday 3/7:

bulls -10 (projected line)_both teams will be on btb, with the hornets being 6-8 ats and the bulls 8-6 in these spots. no paul for the hornets, and that should make a big difference on the road vs a red hot bulls team. chi has beaten the hornets by 11 and 18 in their last 2 visits to chi. this is the 5th and final game of the road trip for the hornets. probably a 2 unit play for me.

How much effect do you think travel comes into play here on a back to back? Both teams are coming from one end of the map to the other.

i am not playing the bulls. but traveling from mia to chi is from one end of the map to the other?

dallas from texas to minny is not a cross country trip....or is it? regardless, i think dallas off the loss last night will have them fired up to bury minny as they usually do.
