One of the Best Deals Made
I think with all of this Lebron talk, one of the best deals this summer maybe slipped under the radar, which is Durant getting an extension for 5 years 86 mill. This is a max contract guy, one of the youngest scoring champs, and will most likely improve. His #'s last year were ridiculous at 30.1 ppg, he shot a little less than 50% from the field, and he had good 3 point #'s, all of which will most likely improve. His free throw percentage was at 90% which is another plus because unlike Lebron, when he gets to the line he converts. Plus this guy is clutch. I remember one game against Utah last season, in Utah also which is one of the toughest places to play in, this guy led the Thunder back from being down like 8 in the 4th quarter to a chance to win it in overtime and almost won the game there for them. Durant's a class act, great teammate, and a future MVP and will probably repeat as scoring champ and the Thunder got him for 5 years, 86 million. Look at Amare's contract 5 years for 100 Mill. Amare's injury prone, a liability on defense, and most definitely not an MVP. Great move by the Thunder, but hardly anyone will realize it because they are too far into Lebron's ass.

There`s no question that Durant for 86 million is a better deal that Amare for 100, but that doesn't mean shit when the Knicks didn't have that option available. Why even compare these two?

But otherwise, yes. OKC made a no-brainer move (and of course a good one) in locking Durant up.

I would rather want Durant, on my team, who atleast tries on defense than Amare who at times doesn't even bother, but that's the NBA. Amare's not bad one on one, but his help defense isn't that good. I wasn't directly comparing the two situations, but rather the two contracts. Looking at it strictly on paper, Durant's resigning has to be one of the best signings this summer, but no one will recognize it. On Amare's signing though, I don't think he's worth the risk for the Knicks unless they can get a good PG to feed him the ball because he'll be going from Nash to some shit unless they pull of a trade.

And you don't get the classic RIP line on twitter from Amare. Jokes aside Durant is the future, he is a class act and it won't be long before OKC is eying a ring.

Yeah hard to compare the two situation. Amare was a free agent so people is willing to spend more to lock in a player. Durant was already under contract so it not like the Knicks can call up Durant and say I give you this much to play for me next year. Knicks prob pulled that off b/c they are way under the salary cap and would feel like a loser if they walked away from this offseason with no popular name. Just look at the Joe Johnson deal, He's about to make more than Lebron b/c the Hawks know no one else is coming to them.

Amare has more years in the league, so his max deal is higher. They dont just makeup these numbers.

I like the Durant move. But I think one of the unsung top deals is Boozer for 80 mil. Boozer is top 5 PF, he has some strength and can shoot the ball. Rose and Boozer alone makes Chicago a contender.

Smart move by both parties. Durant is a beast and the team is only going to get better.

That's the max contract for Durant at this point of his career, his next contract will be larger barring major changes to the CBA.

So Boozer with Rose is better than Boozer when he was with Deron Williams, who in my opinion is #2 PG in the league behind Chris Paul.

Boozer is undersized and although the Bulls will win more games with him, I don't see them winning anything unless Lebron goes to Chicago.

16 mil a year for Boozer is insane.

Boozer's too short to make a huge impact, although I will admit he was someone I really liked seeing on Utah. The lakers abused him for the most part in the playoff series though, he just couldn't jump over Bynum or Gasol. Still a good player that makes the Bulls better, but the Bulls are still missing a couple pieces.

Key point. The Knicks have no one at PG and Amare's numbers are going to go down unless they address this need. The Knicks have some great players, but are still missing pieces. If they don't address them quickly they might find themselves still lacking and ready to disappoint again this season.

                                  Agreed
                                  OKC is sharp.
I watched alot of OKC on my NBA League Pass, last season.
I felt happy for those fans because they got a good product, and they deserve it.
That team developed, and gave the Lakers a scare in the post-season.
Durant is strong. Top 3 in my opinion.
