Ray Allen was hit by an illegal screen set by Ron Artest in the first quarter of Tuesday's Game 3 of the NBA Finals and admitted that his thigh was hurt as a result. Tony Allen was kicked in the neck midway through the fourth quarter of Tuesday's Game 3 when Kobe Bryant pulled up for a 3-point attempt. Kobe was trying to draw a foul and busted Allen's lip while extending his leg which led to eight stitches. Allen is expected to be fine to be fine for Game 4 of the NBA Finals Thursday.

#43Lakers' Bynum vows to play Game 5
BOSTON — Andrew Bynum said the swelling in right knee is the most it has been since he initially tore the cartilage April 30, but he is confident he will be back in action Sunday night for Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
“It’s a little bit frustrating, but I’m going to play on Sunday, play hard on Sunday,” Bynum said after he played just 1:50 of the second half in the Lakers’ Game 4 loss to Boston.
Bynum compared the swollen knee to “a basketball” and is looking forward to two days of treatment. He also said his personal doctor, David Altchek, is expected to come to Boston from his New York office to examine the knee, although Bynum doesn’t expect tests to show anything further than additional fluid in it.
Bynum said the pain isn’t the problem, but the swelling was so great after Game 3 and early in Game 4 that his muscles couldn’t fire properly to move and jump.
About playing through the pain for the final two or three games of the season, Bynum said: “That’s what I’m going to have to do. I’m prepared to do it.”Comment -

#44Boston Celtics
Ray Allen was excused from Saturday's media session because of an illness to his son. He reported to the team's most recent practice and will play in game 5 on Sunday.
Rasheed Wallace tweaked his back slightly in Game 4 of the NBA Finals Thursday while attempting a rebound. He layed on the court briefly but stayed in the game until the Celtics had the win locked up. Head Coach Doc Rivers says it's more conditioning with Wallace where he hasn't been able to practice as often as he'd like in order to rest his sore back.
L.A. Lakers
Kobe Bryant has been dealing with an ankle injury but has yet to miss any substantial time because of it. He is expected to play his usual big minutes in Game 5 of the NBA Finals Sunday against the Celtics.
Andrew Bynum was limited to 12 minutes of play in Game 4 against the Celtics as he continues to deal with a partially torn meniscus. He had the knee drained again following game 4. He is expected to start Game 5 Sunday, but it is unknown how many minutes he will play.Comment -

Kendrick Perkins. Coach Doc Rivers has confirmed that Perkins will not play in Thursday's Game 7 of the NBA Finals. An MRI revealed a torn MCL and partially torn PCL in his right knee, which he sustained after landing awkwardly during Tuesday's Game 6 against the Lakers.
L.A. Lakers
Andrew Bynum was taken out of Tuesday's Game 6 with less than two minutes into the third quarter after he said he couldn't really pick up his leg. There was some tightness and swelling in his right knee but did return to the bench midway through the third. He has been playing with a torn meniscus in his right knee that will require surgery but expects to play in Game 7 of the NBA Finals Thursday.Comment -

#50Bynum - Maybe they can drain it one last time or give him a shot or something. Either way I think he gives about 18-22 decent minutes and honestly thats all the Lakers really need out of him.
Perkins on the other hand is a huge loss. Hes the anchor of the defense and gives alot of hustle and energy, I think Boston pretty much needs this guy to win.Comment -

Kendrick Perkins.
Rajon Rondo needed 17 stitches to close a gash on his chin after taking an elbow from Ron Artest in Game 6 of the NBA Finals Tuesday. He will be good to go in Game 7.

#55I heard the refs for tonight's game are all "away team" refs that will keep the game close if it starts to reach blowout proportions. Does that mean that the Celtics are gonna spend the night at the foul line shooting? I can't see Kobe getting hacked by garnet and not getting the call, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. What do you guys think? With the main 2 bangers, Perkins and Bynum, hurt, who are all the fouls going to be called on? Gasol? Garnett? Artest? Who will spend more time at the foul line?Comment -

#56Ex-basketball center Manute Bol dies at 47, a humanitarian
Former basketball center Manute Bol of Sudan passed away on Saturday after complications stemming from a skin disease. He was 47 years old.
On the hardwood, playing in the same era with Michale Jordan;, Bol might be remembered as one of the best shot blockers in NBA history who played for four NBA teams, including the Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia Sixers.
The 7'7" center was one of two of the tallest players in NBA history, and the only player to record more blocks than points.
Manute played right before the offense-oriented era of "Run TMC" with the Warriors, which involved guards Tim Hardaway and Mitch Richmond and forward Chris Mullin.
Under eccentric coach Don Nelson, Bol excited fans from the Bay Area by shooting awkward outside shots.
His shooting style involved pulling the basketball behind his head prior to releasing a slow, lanky shot. Most of the time, much shorter defenders did not bother trying to block it.
Bol was an intimidating defensive presence in the middle, but Nelson also encouraged his tall, lanky center to shoot unblockable three pointers.
After being traded to the Sixers, the Sudanese madefast friends with star forward Charles Barkley.
Barkley said of Bol that many people may feel sorry for him, but that if the world was full of Manute Bols, it would be a better world.Comment -
