Why I don't think the NBA wants a Game 7 in the LAL/OKC series
For as intriguing as the Thunder are, Stern and his cronies know that Kobe and the Lakers are still their money shot. I don't think they want to risk getting into a one-and-done type situation with LAL -- yes, the Lakers would likely win if they played Game 7 in LA, but does the league want to risk Durant or someone getting hot and the Thunder somehow pulling off the upset, knocking that draw out in the first round? I don't think so.

Durant's time will come soon enough -- the league will make sure of that. It won't be this year, though.

Really, all LAL has to do is pound it inside to Gasol and Bynum like they did in Game 5 and it'll be over in a hurry.

Why it took them this long to realize this is beyond me.

did you see how lazy the lakers were in game 4? it's just like they didn't come out to play that game

Home teams win Game 7 almost overwhelmingly and they get high ratings, so I disagree highly.

well there's always a chance for a loss but if there's anything more assured in a game 7 is that phil jackson will win it.

has he ever lost a game 7? and at home?

couldnt agree more, i was actually talking about this with a friend earlier...i've been doing a little research as to why i think the nba is "fixed"..and a series that came to mind was the 2007 eastern conference finals between the pistons and the cavs for the right to face the "small market-boring" spurs...again, i haven't looked in depth into the series like actually watching the games (which i want to do), but just by looking at the boxscores the pistons took the first two games and then the cavs won 4 in a row, closing it out in game 6 in cleveland...nothing really called for attention in the boxscores except that game 6 was really close until the cavs blew out the pistons in the 4th quarter and in that game the cavs had something like a 46-27 free throw attempt advantage..

could it have been that the league was trying to avoid having the "boring" pistons vs the "boring" spurs and try to create some excitement by having "King" James in the finals when he obviously wasn't ready(spurs eventually sweep 4-0)? they seem to not have wanted a one and done situation in "the palace" for game 7 and the pistons/spurs as we know was one of the least watched finals in nba finals history two years prior to that....

thought this might stir some discussion? and in the similar situation (except not as deep into the playoffs) it would be a little safe to assume that the league doesn't want the lakers to be knocked out this early in an "anything can happen on a given night" game 7 ...
