If anyone has played organized basketball (not street ball in a park) on a college or high school level, understand the game and like everyone here bets on the games then u would not be surprised one iota of what donaghy describes.

Anyone with a decent IQ that watches or has watched an NBA playoff or even reg season game has seen the things donaghy describes to the tee.

The only explanation for those of u who r appalled or in disbelief is that u don't believe that the world or this country or the NBA or any other billion dollar enterprise doesn't run on collusion and corruption. The same squares who think bad things don't happen to decent people and just work hard and good things will happen. LOL. Can't complain all that much, without morons like that I wouldn't be able to fade public picks with ease regardless of situation or match ups etc.

So I got a little pissed after the Rockets game the other night and shot an email:

    Dear John:
Thank you for contacting the National Basketball Association with your concerns regarding officiating. The NBA’s highest priority is to ensure that every game is determined on its merits.
We take seriously the performance of our officials. They are subjected to incredible scrutiny by the league, including tracking every call they make and holding them to the most rigorous standard in all of sports. Not only is their past performance measured, charted, and evaluated, but we employ a system of stringent metrics designed to continually hone their skills and improve their overall ability. We strive to ensure that NBA games are officiated at the highest possible level with the understanding that perfection is an unattainable goal.
Thank you again for your concern. We appreciate your feedback regarding this issue.
    Sincerely,
    NBA Fan Relations

    MESSAGE:
Wow your officials in the Pacers/ Rockets game 4/1/12 were terrible. OT Courtney Lee locked up with 2 other Pacers on the ball while your officials sit with their hands in their pockets and when Courtney Lee jerks it free stumbling backwards they call travel saying he had possession. If he had possession why did they not call a foul on Indiana during the entire sequence? Your officiating was a joke in 2002 Game 6 Western Conference and its still a joke. Which way are you'll trying to stir the finals this year? Which team do you'll want to win since it's obviously decided by Stern & Co. and not the actual teams playing? Pitiful.

It all started when Commissioner Stern went to the ad campaign "The NBA is FanTastic!" Refs were instructed to create an environment where every fan who goes to a game goes home happy. A dad takes his kid to a Nuggets game. They buy a lot of merchandise. The Nuggets win......(at least most of the time). It's not unlike Big Time Wrestling. Give 'em what they want and they'll come back for more. The home team in the NBA goes to the foul line on average 5 times per game more than the road team. What sense does that make? In the NHL the calls are split between home and away teams.....same for the NFL and MLB. Stern purposefully got the refs to manipulate the games and with that the NBA lost its integrity. After that, star players had different standards than other players, playoff series were manipulated to bring in maximum TV revenue, etc. Pro basketball is without question the most corrupt sport in America. It's still fun to bet though and the astute gambler keeps the aforementioned corruption in mind when he goes to the wagering window.
