Finally shit. They had to make it interesting until the end and then we get three goals in the last couple of minutes. Gonna keep with the "eye test" until I run a little streak off. Just whatever looks good at first glance, that's gonna be the play. No muss, no fuss!

Gustavsson in for Toronto vs. Bob for Philly. Gustavsson has been beat up for nine goals in two starts this season. Bobrovsky allowed two in his lone start this season. Looking for the PPs to feast tonight if given the chances. Two muddling PK units and two talented PP units with the Flyers tied for the league lead with 9 PP goals and ranking in the top 5 in PP%. Both teams have been allowing quite a few goals. Toronto allowing three or more in five of seven and Philadelphia in four of the last five. Chalky as hell, but whatever.

Bob should allow a couple. He seems to refuse to get a shutout. Gustavsson is like a ~4.00 GAA in his like 13-15 going back to last year. (I heard the stat on TSN, I don't remember the precise numbers.) Plus he has an over 5 GAA this year, alone. Not good for the high powered Flyers offence that should be coming in pissed off. 4-2 is the lowest score I see this one going. Should be fun to watch though, eager to see if Kessel and Lupul and take it to a solid defensive corps as well. I'd obviously prefer a 6-0 win for Bob.

10.25.11: SENATORS-HURRICANES OVER 5.5 [-108]
Anderson v. Ward. Anderson's seven starts this season have seen him given up at least three goals in six of seven with overs hitting in those six. Ward has allowed at least three goals in four of his six starts this season. Ottawa has hit OVERs in six of eight overall and Carolina in five of eight. Special teams could again be a big player here. Ottawa is a top five PP unit in %. Both PK units are bottom five in killing with the Senators leading the league in PP goals allowed. Canes PP unit has been a bit stagnant lately, but with the leaky Sens' PK unit - they could get on track again.

Pavelec vs. Bob. Pavelec has given up at least three goals in four of six starts overall and all three on the road. Bobrovsky has two starts, two overs, two goals allowed in each. Four of five home games have hit OVERs for Philadelphia. Special teams big here. Philly ranks 5th in PP% and 1st in PP goals. Winnipeg is in the bottom 3rd in the league in penalty killing.

Niemi vs. Howard. This is more a gut feeling than stats-based. Sharks have been in a good scoring groove with eleven goals on their current, three game road trip while conceding six. Red Wings have been blasted for eleven goals in their last two. Some of that has been a faulty PK unit that has given up four PP goals. Wings usually find that goal scoring groove at home, let's see what's the what.

Well this pits the team that screwed a couple overs for me in Carolina against the OVERs leaders in the Flyers. Like this one though with Boucher in between the pipes and Bryzgalov. Boucher has been brutal in two starts this season with nine goals allowed. Maybe the former Flyer amps it up for his old team, but more likely I see his old team piling it on here. Philly remains the league leaders in PP goals which should bode well against the Hurricanes who are still somewhat sloppy on the PK. Bryzgalov has been equally brutal with four goals or more allowed in five of his last six appearances.

Much like last year, looks like I'm getting a little momentum after a shite start. Gotta love them Flyers overs.

Don't know anything about the rookie Rehner who is in net for Ottawa tonight, but both these teams have been solid OVERs plays. Toronto hitting them seven of ten and Ottawa in eight of eleven. Gustavsson for Toronto tonight. He has five starts and five OVERs. He has given up at least three goals in four of those starts. Both PP units have been humming and these are two of the bottom four PK units in the league. So if penalties can be taken, special teams should help a ton here.

11.1.11: VANCOUVER-CALGARY OVER 5.5 [+105]
Luongo vs. Kiprusoff. Luongo has had a rough start to the season, allowing three goals or more in six of his seven starts. Kiprusoff has been solid with just two starts out of seven having allowed more than two goals. Vancouver though was all over Kipper last year with at least three goals scored in every meeting. OVER has been a good ride in this series, so I'll side with it and see what happens. Canucks PP has a chance to be a difference maker here.
