12.17.11: CANUCKS-MAPLE LEAFS OVER 5.5 [-125]
Luongo v. "Mr OVERS" Gustavsson. Admittedly, Luongo is on fire and has been tough to beat for more than a goal lately, but Gustavsson has been an OVERs magnet all-season some how, some way. 13 of 14 starts have cashed OVERs. The Leafs have at least been steady scoring with at least two goals in nine of their last ten. Vancouver has been so tough defenisvely lately, but has now given up a few lately - including four to Carolina. Canucks PP should inflict major damage on Toronto if given the opps tonight. Leafs have allowed ten PP goals in their last four games.Comment -

12.18.11: HURRICANES-PANTHERS OVER 5.5 [+120]
Does it look good on paper? Probably not, but Cam Ward is another OVERs monster. Seven of his last ten starts have gone in that direction and ten of Carolina's 15 road games have hit OVERs. Carolina has given up at least three goals in nine of the last ten. Canes PP units need to do something against a gettable Florida PK unit. At plus money with Ward's OVERs tilt and Carolina being one of the worst road defenses, taking a shot. Think if Carolina get two off Theodore, this has a legit shot.

12.19.11: FLYERS-AVALANCHE OVER 5.5 [-130]
Bryzgalov v. Giguere. Bryzgalov comes in off his worst performance in weeks, having allowed five to Boston. His last five road starts have all gone OVERs and he has allowed at least two goals in seven of his last eight starts. Giguere has been mostly solid, but has traditionally been pounded by the Flyers. Flyers remain a pretty solid OVERs club with seven cashing in their last ten and ten of 16 on the road finishing OVERs. Both PK units have scuffled of late, especially Philly which is giving up a ton of penalties [17 in their last two games]. If they give the chances, Colorado needs to capitalize.

12.20.11: SABRES-SENATORS OVER 5.5 [-110]
Miller v. Anderson. Even though this did not pan out last time, I am riding the Craig Anderson OVERs train still. Both Miller and Anderson were adequate in the 3-2 OT meeting these two just had, but sandwiched around that game - both have been letting in lots of goals. Miller allowed five on ten shots against Pittsburgh and four the game prior to Toronto. Anderson has given up at least four in the three starts around the last game with Buffalo. Seven of the last ten for Ottawa have hit OVERs and ten of 16 at home. If there are penalties tonight, these two PP units need to do work as both PK units are struggling.

12.21.11: FLYERS-STARS OVER 5.5 [-120]
Bobrovsky v. Bachman likely. If this doesn't go over, I may never break this losing streak. Bob has seen OVERs in five of six road starts. Flyers have hit OVERs in five of their last six on the road. Bachman has been shaky in his last two starts, giving up nine goals. Philly remains one of the best road scoring clubs at 3.35 goals per road game. Stars average a shade over 3 goals at home. Look for the Stars PP to eat up the Flyers PK units if given the opps.

1.3.12: Lightning-Maple Leafs Over 5.5 [-125]
Garon v. Gustavsson. No better place to go when looking to get back on track than the Gustavsson OVERs train. He's an amazing 15 of 16 hitting OVERs when he starts, by his own doing or by great offensive support. He's been poor at home in five starts with four of them seeing him allow at least three goals, ten over his last two at home. Garon has a nice OVERs streak of his own, seven of his last ten starts going in that direction. He has yielded at least two goals in nine of those starts. Both PK units are scuffling of late, especially Toronto - so getting on the job tonight could yield some needed goals for both sides. Tampa has 14 goals in their last three games. Toronto has scored at least three in six of their last eight, while giving up at least three in eight of their last ten.

1.5.12: JETS-MAPLE LEAFS OVER 5.5 [-125]
All board the Gustavvson OVERs train again. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Gustavsson as outlined last time has been an OVERs magnet with now 16 of 17 starts hitting OVERs. Mason likely in net for Winnipeg. He's been pretty solid, but the Jets road defense has been unreliable - allowing 3.6 goals per game. They've had a few good starts, but have allowed four or more goals in five of their last eight, including two seven goal outbursts by the opposition. Jets PP needs to do work tonight against a Toronto PK that is giving up PP goals a-plenty with at least one against in eight of their last ten.

Looking to get on track again. Schneider v. Roloson. Rolo has been a solid OVERs man with five of his last seven starts falling in that direction. In his last ten appearances, he has allowed at least three goals nine times. Schneider is on a run of three straight OVERs in his most recent starts. 'Ning have played nine straight at home that have hit OVERs.

Tampa has cashed OVERs in 14 of 19 at home. Thomas fairly solid as usual, but has only one shutout in his last ten and has allowed three goals or more in three of his last five. Lightning PK has been suspect lately, Boston needs to pound that.

1.22.12: BRUINS-FLYERS OVER 5.5 [-110]
Thomas v. Bryzgalov. Thomas' road starts have seen OVERs in 11 of 16, while Bryzgalov's home starts have seen OVERs cash in 11 of 15. Both teams have cashed the same number of OVERs on the split here: Boston in 12 of 19 on the road and Philly in 12 of 19 at home. Flyers' D has been hit and miss at home, more miss as they still allow over three goals per home game. With Boston continuing to be a road force with an average of 3.5 goals per road game - that should give this a chance for goals. Both PK units have been solid, so special teams isn't likely to yield a ton of extra chances here ... although the Bs crushed the Flyers for three PP goals in a 6-0 whipping last time the two teams met.

1.24.12: BLUE JACKETS-LIGHTNING OVER 5.5 [-115]
Not confirmed, but likely Sanford for Columbus. Garon definitely for TB. Garon's home starts have hit OVERs in ten straight. Lightning remain one of the best home OVERs in the league with 15 of 20 cashing in that direction. Sanford has been steady, but has given up almost two goals at least in every start for two months. Garon has given up at least three in seven of his last ten overall. Columbus with a poor GAA on the road, close to four allowed per game and TB will need to do the work tonight with Columbus not a quality goal scoring side from game to game. Both PK units can be had, but the two PP units have not been clicking. Tampa's home games have hit OVERs in 13 straight with the last under coming in November.

Waiting for goalie confirmation for Pittsburgh, but if it's Johnson then I am in on this one. If Fleury goes again, I will probably pass. Johnson has given up at least three goals in six of his nine starts this season, including a 4-3 loss @ Toronto. Reimer is in for Toronto. He has given up at least two goals in eight straight with 16 goals allowed in his last five appearances. Both meetings between these two this season have hit OVERs with flurries of late goals.
