TODAY is your LAST day to enter picks for RD 1!
There are around 5 of you, who shall remain nameless, who took the trouble of signing up, entering all your sportsbook account info, but have been absent this week. Please remember we have a "no laydown" rule which was outlined in the original contest thread, I'll cite that now--

"Bet Jamaica is offering odds on all 128 contestants. Due to this, we'll be implementing a "NO LAYDOWN" rule. If your opponent fails to submit picks during the allowed time, a dummie account will place picks so the possibility of being eliminated is maintained. The dummie account will then assume the role of contestant."

Sports betting and handicapping forum: discuss picks, odds, and predictions for upcoming games and results on latest bets.

For those of you have participated but submitted less than 7 picks, each play not submitted by the conclusion of tonights games will be marked as 1 unit losses.

Yes but is the dummie account really a dummie? or do they all go 6-1 +5.67 units?

        "THANK YOU" smitch 124 !

You took the words right outa my mouth!

So it's bad enough, I might lose this thing later today,
        But to a "dummy"?

        BTW,
I'm one of those 5 opponents Crazyl identified as someone who has been playing all week against a NO SHOW!

        Only time will tell.
        Hmm...

"Thanx" again Smitch for bringing up the topic.
Hope to see ya in the 2'nd round!

So even if you play someone and they make say 6 plays instead of 7, is this dummie thing implemented for their 7th pick? Or is this strictly for people who don't make any plays at all?

I kind of understand doing something if the opponent makes no picks - even though everyone is going to question the randomness of the picks - especially if they lose. Something should be set in stone for that - like they automatically take the first 7 picks listed in the Daily Lines.

            EaglesPhan,

            Outstanding post!

You raised several issues that were not covered in the original rules.

Now it appears that it's a "let's make it up as we go along thing..."
            Huh?

And that's unfair to those of us who have abided by the original rules.
            Am I right?

RE: Your thought of: "...take the first 7 picks listed in the daily lines, well here they are:

            (1) Philly @ + 145
            (2) Rockies @ - 1.5 + 100
            (3) Brewers @ - 1.5 + 115
            (4) Cards @ -1.5 + 115
            (5) Mets @ - 1.5
            (6) Braves @ + 1.5 - 205
            (7) Giants @ + 1.5 - 165

Are these the picks the "Dummie" is gonna use to eliminate me today Crazyl?

            Respectfully,

Also does the game have to be final tonight. I don't think its fair to play a game tonight for tomorrow.

Now if the dummy plays win they should not count if it cost a player the tourney.

                pimke,

                "Thanx" for jumping in.

The rules clearly state that all 7 picks have to be in by Saturday.

That's why I'm waiting for 7 bogus picks to be posted by Crazyl shortly,
That will knock me (and 4 others) out of this fun tournament.

                It ain't fair!

Well it is fair to have those 7 picks. But of course they would be posted before each game starts

I would say Crazy just picks 7 late picks and that is who you have to beat

That's the original 128 post. If I get this correct, it sounds like there is a dummy account set at the beginning of the round with picks being made in case your opponent does not make a play - not that they would just pick 7 random games at the end if needed on the last day.

SUGGESTION SBR --- POST THE DUMMY PLAYS EVERY DAY, SO THAT ANYONE WHO GOES UP AGAINST THE DUMMY HAS NO PROBLEMS WITH WHAT PICKS ARE MADE.

I know you guys added in the "WE CAN DO WHATEVER THE HELL WE WANT" rule in there, but this seems like a fair way to make this contest enjoyable for everyone. Hopefully, Crazy will provide us with some clarity here! I personally think the dummy thing oughta be a non-use in the first round since things were not really stated very clearly.

A couple of rules have already been allowed to slide in the contest. They might as well let this one slide also and get rid of the dummy pick rule. Just let the people that had no competitor advance. We know that the final 64 will compete because they did in the first round. This saves someone from having to go against dummie picks in the second round because of the rule.

I'm one of those who had no competition in the first round!

                              But let me add,
I submitted all 7 plays so I should advance to the 2'nd round.
                              BTW everyone,
I would had winning record (but) posted 2 wins on HedgeHog's site.
No I wasn't drinking, (@ least not then) just in a hurry to make my 1'st picks of the tourney.

Hope I'm around to wish ya GL in the 2'nd round.

i feel that for those that had no competition in rd 1 ....should make there own 7 picks trying to pick losers ....and if those plays knock him out trying to pick losers then he cut his own throat
