I would like to make a suggestion for the next one of these, considering it really is not far for some of us to actually research and others just steal your picks, we should all have to email or PM our results instead of posting out in the open like this, good day.

I don't think it really matters, because they are picks anyways, and people are generally really bad at analyzing MMA. its all based off of hype and this card proves it as much or more than the SF: nashville one did (which everyone conveniently forgot about after)

still soooo funny how people were rating Rampage's wrestling defense because he didn't spend an entire fight with Hendo on his back.. yet Hendo just got owned hard by Shields AND he took him down 4 times before he gassed against Rampage.

Does KO/TKO equal same thing for purposes of determining method of finish? If not, I suggest that in future contests it does considering that they are usually coupled together in terms of betting purposes. Plus, many times the final determination comes down to how fast the referee gets there to waive the fight off and not the actual finishing blows.

good point terp, Rod we need to go back to the old contest rules, much more gambling related that way

risking one unit on dogs and to win one unit on favs, person who is up the most units win the contest, was much better that way, I'm sure most here would agree

-not sure what this has to do with the greats suggestion. it is no different than other sports with regard to media hype influencing public opinion. however, mma has more readily available information that the books do not consider, or at least it seems this way considering the large line movements on nearly every card (especially the under card).

still soooo funny how people were rating Rampage's wrestling defense because he didn't spend an entire fight with Hendo on his back.. yet Hendo just got owned hard by Shields AND he took him down 4 times before he gassed against Rampage.
                                                      - i still would rate rampage's wrestling defense high. rashad's shot looked great last night, but he still had trouble taking him down after the first one. the takedown at the end was more do to rampage's cardio. personally, i thought that rampage should have been favorite do to the chin and cardio aspect, along with the fact that I did not think rashad would score the takedown. i was wrong with the cardio, but rashad definitely gets rocked way to easily late in fights. this is now two fights in a row that he escaped due to the fact that his opponent ran out of steam late imo.

if you were a rashad backer I think you have to feel fortunate that none of rampages GNP landed cleanly in the third, because if one of the shots hit jaw or temple flush, that fight was over.

In terms of grading the contest is the same, a KO is a KO whether it was by the fighter blacking out or if the referee stopped it a few seconds before he got pounded. So TKO and KO will be counted equally.

I will go back and check on the old format and will try to integrate it into this one, probably will add an additional price for the most units.

Rashad never had trouble taking him down in the centre of the ring. The problem with Rashad's wrestling is the same as many college wrestlers-- they don't chain wrestle. when you're shot is stufed against the cage you have to chain techniques to get the advantage, but he didn't do it enough for fast enough. Rampage uses very little technique to defend takedowns which is why he gave up the takedowns in the centre fairly easy but when he was against the cage he could just stall rashad with his strength.

Rashad didn't even barely get hit by anything, he shot in and hit his head on page's hip or knee and then rampage hit him in the chest with a big right uppercut that knocked him over and onto his back. he barely got hit with anything on the head during that entire exchange, maybe 2 or 3 punches max and when he fell to his back he was already getting a guard right away.

But, you would have known Rashad would win if you knew MMA. You'd also know what wrestling technique is, evidently you don't. Its cool there is a big club of folks in here wasting their money and buying hype instead of learning TECHNIQUE and watching STUDYING TAPE.
