sorry for the noob question but....

why is there an option to bet 1 to 3 units on each possible game? since its a free contest shouldnt everyone just choose 3 units per bet to get the maximum amount of points per game.... could you get a negative amount of units if you lose the bets? or am i missing something here?

The bet range is just so that you can risk more units on plays you like more, or to implement it into your strategy based on how you're doing in relation to the rest of the field. Yes, your units will become negative should you get off to a bad start. Throughout the contest your standings and others will be updated in real-time on the leaderboard as games finsih.
