That rule just doesn't make any sense. If post time is 8:05, that is when picking should end, not 8:06 but it is the rules so I have nobody to blame but myself for that. But we both knew exactly what was going down and were trying to wait each other out till the last possible second.

While I can't complain since this is just a contest, this scenario clearly has nothing to do with handicapping, and is just a game of "fastest finger," who can post at the last possible second before cutoff.

Can the rules be changed for the next round so that the last day's picks can be emailed in instead of posted? It's hard to call what just happened "handicapping."

I'm confused as to what the problem is. A pick that goes off a minute after the game's posted starting time is too late, that is how it is at any sportsbook as well, where games are taken off the board when the scheduled post time hits.

I don't think there is a "fastest finger" situation in most cases; you guys just so happened to be tied up in a close match and both chose to use that strategy.

I don't really know how the rules could be changed to prevent this; there will always be some trying to maneuver around your opponent. But please PM me with some details about the rule changes you'd like to see so I can consider them for future contests.

I have been out of town this week, so sorry for the delay congrats!

Yeah, I know what you mean about the last minute thing. Going into the last day, I wanted to be behind by less than 1 unit before the 8pm games, so I could do just what I did. I knew you were waiting for my pick, so I was waiting until you would not have enough time to counteract! It worked, as I had a clear advantage with a -250 dog, but they bombed on me!

The problem with emailing picks, is that we could both pick the same team, so that wouldn't work.

It's more of a strategy contest, than handicapping. But hey, it's free and it's fun.
