NBA Season-Long Handicapping Contest 2016-17

Entry Fee is 500 Betpoints.

This contest starts on Opening Night, Tuesday, 10/25/16 and ends with the final game of the 2017 NBA Finals. You must make a minimum of 200 plays over the entire year with no maximum. Contest includes Spreads, Totals and Money Lines. All plays must be rated from 1 to 5, and since the contest includes Money Lines, the rating will be the RISK amount. Standings will be based on units.

Note: If there is a tie in units, first tiebreaker will be Winning Percentage, second tiebreaker will be Action Points (Spreads and Totals only). If still tied after Action Points, the prizes will be split.

Point allocation depends on number of entries:

Members 1-9
1st: 100%

Members 10-19
1st: 60%
2nd: 25%
3rd: 15%

Members 20-49
1st: 50%
2nd: 20%
3rd: 15%
4th: 10%
5th: 5%

Members 50+
1st: 30%
2nd: 20%
3rd: 14%
4th: 9%
5th: 7%
6th: 6%
7th: 5%
8th: 4%
9th: 3%
10th: 2%

That would defeat the whole point of a "season" contest. Nobody complained about the MLB Season contest, and that was only 300-point buy-in.

We have 60 people in MLB contest, which was also regular season plus playoffs, people will keep joining along the way. 200 is not really much if a minimum, we could still have people joining after the All-Star break.

I actually like the season long format plus playoffs. I don't like that minimum picks was set so low at 200 though because if someone hits a hot streak and gets a big lead, they just basically stop making picks.
