If you're 18 and in college, how can your mom telling you that you can't get a loan mean anything? i don't think she has a legal say in that unless she can cut you off financially in a way that is some how more financially devistating than 45k.

actually dumb ass, you must be 21 to get a loan w/o parent signature, so if she didn't sign the papers, I wouldn't have been able to get a loan.

Luckily, I don't need that situation, but if the time comes and I need a loan, she would have to sign. Think before you say. ASSHOLE
