Eight cappers remain from a starting field of 128: who will go on to win?

Robyn, blackbart, aguy, gm2022, sharktank1, jayc88, fearless, and Bestplay2day all have the same shot at becoming Champion. Each handicapper has proven themselves by slicing through the starting field of 128 in impressive fashion, with that we’ll recap the Sweet 16!

Oh how sweet it was, the Sweet 16 has concluded and there were some high-flying moments of action that went down.

pat venditto vs jayc88: Pat Venditto was an overwhelming favorite to advance in this match up, and was the field favorite to advance to the finals, yet he is bounced by jayc88 and has hugely disappointed his fans and followers that were steadfast in cheering him on throughout. Pat Venditto left a lot of points on the scoreboard, as he failed to find the groove which allowed him to ease through the rest of the field like a knife through butter. Pat Venditto will return to the drawing board to figure out exactly where he went wrong, but it is poster jayc88 that deserves all the credit in the world as the Buster Douglas of SBR. jayc88 finished 5-3 +1.75 to pat venditto's 5-7 -2.34.

Sinister Cat vs blackbart: One word- wow. Sinister Cat and blackbart both started out winning 3 of their first 5, and not much more separation was had by either party. This match literally came down to the final shot of the final game, and the end scoreline was merely a single cents difference which allowed SBR forum poster blackbart the rights to advance. Blackbart finished up at an impressive 6-3 +1.86 to Sinister Cat's 7-5 +1.85. If that isn't a rollercoaster of a ride, I'm not sure what is! Congrats to both guys for putting together an outstanding match that literally could not have contained a better, more climactic ending.

Pico vs Robyn: Pico was made a slight favorite headed into the match, but you’d never know it from looking at the final scoreline. Pico made a questionable decision in making eight of his plays the first day lines became available, and won only 2 of thoe selections. Hindsight is always 20/20, but the sledding didn’t get any easier for pico, as he ended up winning only 4 of 11 picks and lost -3.37 units.

Robyn was able to capitalize and seized a dominant lead by winning her first 4 picks, and never looked back in this match up. The lone female left in the tournament hit the brakes to close this one out, with such an overwhelming lead she didn’t need to take her last few picks seriously, and finished 4-4 -0.16. It was good enough to advance, we wish Robyn luck going forward.

Best of luck to all cappers in advancing to the Final Four, and be sure to check out all the action at SBR forum's handicapping contests subforum!
