With several players not showing up because they signed up so long ago, what would happen if their opponent went 0-8 for say -8.43 units. Then the guy who doesn't show up gets penalized 8 units for -8.00.

Does the guy who didn't show up move on??

If this happens, the best thing to do is let the loser with the best score out of the other matchups advance in my opinion.

That hurt my head. But it makes sense. Only you would think of something like this.

Just let the guy who didn't show up advance...he'll get knocked out next round.

You deserve to get knocked out for going 0-8.

Wait...don't they lose 1 bet unit (1.1) for -8.8, and at the 10 cent lines we play, we'd rarely be playing -110.

The contest is kind of an after thought. Not much enthusiasm. I think those lucky enough to reach the last 32 get this at five different books:

I've sent messages to those who hadn't submitted a pick yet, and the attendance seemed to spike up. I think our last tournament we didn't have a single no-show but the one before we may have had 2 in the first round.

In tournaments this big, what happens is sometimes players sign up then forget, or don't check their messages in time or really read the sign up terms which details where the matches will be held.
