Round 2 RULES
- Round 2 runs from Wed-Mon.
- Minimum 8 plays required, max 10. Each pick under 8 will be a one unit penalty.
- No min or max on plays per day.
- Lines will be posted overnight, and the following morning up to 2PM EST. No further additions will be made manually, should a game be withheld due to injury and resurface later you may send a PM request although there's no guarantee it will be added.
- All plays MUST be used from the Daily Lines thread. Please include the juice with your play to save from constant back-checking.
- NFL/NCAAF, NBA/NCAAF Pointspreads/Totals Only.
- Plays are to win one unit on a favorite, risk 1 unit on a dog.
- After consideration, you MAY now "fade" your opponents selection should you so choose. This means you may pick opposite sides of a game, however you may NOT pick the same side. You may also not pick both sides of your OWN game to minimize losses to juice.
- You may cancel a pick so long as you quote the post with the pick and it is before game-time. You may also request cancellation by PM but please do so in thread.
- Rules are subject to change per administrative discretion.

I like the idea in this contest of no big dogs as it turns the contest into handicapping skill instead of luck. As a suggestion for the next contest I think there should be a set amount of plays for all rounds instead of 8-10. Yes I realize strategy might be fun for all but a set amount of picks no more no less makes it more of a skill contest than a strategy contest.Comment -
the cancellation rule is BS when you have 8-10 game format
the person behind can cancel their 9,10th bet after the other person has made their next bet to counter it. sounds confusing but it's what happened to me in the first round, although I won anyway. cancelling when their is a specific amount of games you have to play would be OK
Another thing that is BS, is when someone gets their plays posted after the games have concluded because they didnt have internet access! If you have internet access to PM somebody, then you can thread your plays as well! Especially football plays, since the lines were up on Friday.
Feels like I'm up against 10 people instead of one!

No one is given preferential treatment. If someone will be out of town over the weekend, they can submit their picks to me and I will hang them for them. Although, I won't do so immediately because I'll give the opponent that's actually there first crack at the games from the Daily Lines.
With regard to play cancellation, tactics and sharp strategy are part of the game; it's all about putting yourself in a position where you only need to make eight plays.

Posting the opponets plays after the games have concluded is not good business. I don't have a problem with it this time because the plays went 1-1. But what if the plays went 2-0? I would not know if they were legit! If the person made threads on every day of the contest, then they had plenty of opportunity to post their own picks. I put my Sat. picks in on Fri. because I knew I wouldnt be near the computer!
Would this be acceptable on Monday night? How could the opponet use proper strategy if they don't know their opponets picks?

The only thing I don't like about the cancellation, is the inability to play the same picks. If my opponent posts one of my picks and then retracts it, I don't have the ability to make the play on the same pick. Ya Heard!Comment -

They let picantel win by cheating and changing the rules ...So if you think the rules are BS you havent seen nothing yet . He got to cancel a game thru a private PM to CrazyL.... It was 100% cheat he didnt ask for a cancel on our head to head thread. He stated the line was wrong but really him being behind 10-0 and giving 5 was the reason. He has more post than me so CrazyL decides in my favor than changes the next day hahhahahha ....yeah funny I guess. One thing I wouldnt want is to be playing this cheating prick in rd 2. with as bad as he handicaps the only way for him to move on would be to cheat some one else. I can't tell you how pissed off i am but I did send the whole thread with my story to SBR and also to Betjamaica I want them to know if they allow wagers the outcome can be cheated.Comment -

I have a rules question. If there is a game later in the week that will obviously be in play can we post it as our pick even though the line was not put up here yet to lock it in? For example, I like indy on sunday so I put my pick in the thread even though the odds are not officially up yetComment -
No you may not.
If we allowed that there's really no sense in having a Daily Lines thread. You must use the lines we have listed, not only does this avoid confusion or having to decide you don't like the line offered, it also adds to the fairness of the tournament. Someone could conceivably make every single football pick on a Wednesday, which is a no no.Comment -

One of the reasons I think we need to allow cancellations (prior to game time), is because a lot of money is at stake here. There is no reason a poster should not have full autonomy over his/her own selections; whether an injury changes their mind, whether they decide they really like someone else, there is simply no reason that I feel is compelling enough to completely disallow someone to change their mind. Both parties are able to cancel prior to game as they see fit, it's ultimately the posters contest, not one we want to inundate with "you can't do this".
As for everything out in the open immediately: If someone is going on vacation and says hey CrazyL, I want so and so at this #, I'll make their picks for them AFTER their opponent has the opportunity to make his/her selections, that way a guy that's not even online doesn't take precedence with 'reservations'.Comment -
It really is simple ...If you cancel you do it "BEFORE" the games starts and in the thread your playing in ...thats plain and simple. That way you can't cheat players the way you cheated me. Any other way to cancel....well I would think the only reason to have another way would be to cheat. So do it fair cancel "ONLY" by posting in the head to head thread period ...no other way is need nor should be allowed. Take it from me losing because you were cheated hurts.
