    418!

I tweaked my fantasy team all the way up to third place, but I need one more power stick.
    (So does everyone else)
Petey Alonso, Trout, Story, Ozuna probably gone for life and on and on all hurt

    I got Harper DL
    I got Conforto DL

Thank God I have guys with some power overachieving right now with the long ball.

    I play in the NFBC
I like to play in the Nationals, the big league.
My competition is over my head.
Team owners in the NFBC are people like editors of RotoWire, Numbers Firs, people like that.
It's the best way to learn things people like us don't even know.

Anyway this is the best of the power hitters available on the waiver wire.
    It's sad.

    1) Seth Brown
    2) William Contreras
    3) Maikel Franco

That's cool that your competing against those guys and holding your own. My teams have been derailed by injuries this year just like everyone else but I've managed to hang around middle of the pack in most of my leagues and even have a couple of teams at the top half of the standings. It's tough though because seemingly everybody I was counting on to have a big year is on the IL and out of action for a long while.

I have Woodruff and Giolito has returned to Cy Young form lately after a shaky first couple of starts.

I like the league because I took a chance at Barnes as my #2 closer and all the experts raised eyebrows.
Barnes has been lights out so far.

A lot of times you really should listen to these editor guys, some time you go with your gut and say "I don't think so"
Love that feeling when it does pay off.

Gausman has been fantastic this season for the Giants. I always feel they have a chance to win when he takes the hill and that's what you need from your Ace. Hopefully he keeps it up all year for the G Men.

Big game for Javy Baez today. I gambled on him in my fantasy auction draft and he's delivered for me. I'd say I got a nice bargain on him at $10 due to nobody wanting him after the season he had last year. I figured he'd be better this season because the fans would be back and last year was an aberration for many players because it was such a weird season playing in empty ballparks.

Yankees right-hander Luis Severino continues to make his way back from Tommy John surgery, with a pair of big checkpoints on the horizon. Manager Aaron Boone told reporters (including Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record) that Severino will toss a three-inning simulated game today, and if all goes well, Severino is expected to begin a rehab assignment on Sunday.
Severino underwent his TJ procedure in February 2020, so while his recovery is taking a bit longer than the usual timeline of 13-15 months, that probably isn’t unexpected given that Severino also missed most of the 2019 season. Shoulder and lat problems limited Severino to only 20 1/3 combined innings in the regular season and postseason in 2019, so the Yankees will have essentially gone almost two and a half seasons without Severino before he is finally able to get back onto a big league mound.
It’s been a tough haul for a pitcher who looked like one of the better arms in the sport in 2017-18, when Severino made two All-Star teams and posted a 3.18 ERA/3.26 SIERA and 28.8% strikeout rate over 384 2/3 innings. The Yankees haven’t usually worked out contract extensions in recent years, but they were impressed enough by Severino’s work to lock him up on a four-year, $40MM deal covering the 2019-22 seasons, with a $15MM club option ($2.75MM buyout) for 2023. Between the shoulder issues and the Tommy John surgery, of course, Severino has barely pitched since signing that extension.
Given the long layoff, it might be optimistic to assume that Severino will immediately look like a front-of-the-rotation arm upon his return, though the Yankees will happily take anything close to that form. New York has gotten strong results from its rotation as a whole this season, but Corey Kluber will now be sidelined through July and Jameson Taillon (who is himself returning from a long Tommy John rehab) has been inconsistent over 42 2/3 innings.

My man Dylan Moore gets all the credit for Minor.
Very nice signing last season. Pitched well enough last year, took a shot with him as a rotation starter this year.
I've said it before Dylan Moore is a top 5 GM in MLB, his problem has been past ownership that wouldn't give him a penny's worth of budget.

Minor's a funky lefty and being a former catcher I can tell you first hand what funky lefties can do to a batter.
Keep them off balanced, bring arm angles to batters that they aren't used to seeing, funky lefties can frustrate the best of batters. (well most batters not named Cruz, Tatis, or JD Martinez)

Look at Minor's career, when he makes 28 + starts he wins 10 + games.
He's 75-68 lifetime pitching for pretty much mediocre teams.

Royals back to .500 and are in the middle of a rush right now.
Here we go KC, and we got the Pirates for a couple more.
Brady will get it done today.
                        Here we go KC

I'm hardly a Dodger fan but I'm rooting hard for David Price the person tonight against the Cards.

Speaking of (former) Cards, I see the Cubs just cut Shelby Miller.
Poor guy at 30 is washed up.
                              He had so much potential.

DeGrom unbelievable and closing games Kimbrel is unhittable. Before last September the guy looked washed up and now he's better than ever, and he was already a Hall of Fame closer.

Nationals manager Dave Martinez and Washington’s trainer visited with right-hander Stephen Strasburg after he began Tuesday night’s game with a four-pitch walk, and despite some obvious discomfort (noted by Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post), Strasburg stayed in the game. His fastball velocity was down to the point that his four-seamer was registering as a change-up, per Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com (via Twitter) who provides some spin rate evidence to back his claim.
Stras would ultimately leave the game early, though it took a 109.6 mph comebacker off the bat of William Contreras to get Strasburg out of the game. The underlying issue, however, was a tight trapezius muscle, noted the Athletic’s Maria Torres and others after the game. The Nats’ right-hander will have an MRI on Wednesday, but whatever the results, Strasburg is clearly not his usual self.
In the meantime, the Nats are running dangerously low on arms. They won Tuesday’s game, but they required seven pitchers to do so. Only Tanner Rainey and Kyle Finnegan were left in the pen by game’s end. Austin Voth earned the win, but in using 50 pitches to get through three innings, he likely rendered himself unavailable for Wednesday. Jon Lester was already scheduled to start Wednesday’s game on short rest, but now they’ll ask the veteran to give them some length as well.
Tomorrow was originally set up to be Erick Fedde’s start, but the Nats did not feel he was stretched out enough to come off the injured list, per Torres. Instead, Fedde will make a rehab start in Single-A on Thursday and prepare to join the Nats over the weekend, tweets Zuckerman. In the meantime, the Nats could choose to option Sam Clay, Wander Suero or Paolo Espino in order to bring up a fresh arm. All three have options remaining. Typically, Washington does not aggressively manage their organizational arms in this way, but given the state of the rotation, it would not be surprising to see them make some kind of move.

It’s an issue he’s been pitching through for 2-3 weeks, Bumgarner himself said (via Bob Nightengale of USA Today).
Perhaps not coincidentally, Bumgarner’s last four starts have been disastrous. The 31-year-old began the season with three poor games, but he seemed to flip a switch before his April 18 outing against the Nationals. Beginning with that start in Washington, Bumgarner worked to a brilliant 0.90 ERA with incredible strikeout and walk numbers (32.4% and 1.9%, respectively) over his next five outings.
Unfortunately for Bumgarner and the D-Backs, that superlative level of play vanished almost as quickly as it appeared. Over his last four starts (including today’s work against the Mets), the southpaw has only managed a 10.13 ERA with thirteen strikeouts and eight walks over sixteen frames. Bumgarner’s velocity hasn’t been dramatically different recently, although the injury could have contributed to the downturn in his performance in some other way.
Today’s loss dropped the Diamondbacks to a woeful 20-37, and it’s become increasingly apparent Arizona will wind up selling off veteran players as we get closer to the July 30 trade deadline. As MLBTR’s Steve Adams examined earlier today, it looks like it’ll be tough to find a taker for Bumgarner, who is due the balance of a $19MM salary this year, with successive figures of $23MM, $23MM and $14MM over the following three seasons. If Bumgarner now winds up requiring an injured list stint, that’d only further decrease the chances there’ll be suitors for the four-time All-Star in the coming months.
