    JP?

I could use your opinion as to what to do with Chris Paddack

Currently I am sitting fourth and with a few minor tweaks to my roster I think realistically win the whole damn thing.

I drafted Paddack very late, mid 20th round (a bargain at around pick 289 overall)
He is what he is, a nice insurance policy stashed on the bench roster, a handy streamer too.

    My pitching is fine.

    My first four picks were
    1. Giolito
    2. Harper
    3. Woodruff
    4, Merrifield

Woodruff has been the best pitcher in the NL not named deGrom
With the exception of one brain fart I am pleased with Golito.
Both Harper and Whit are doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing.

I made sure I had the SB's and saves covered, and I'm pretty much leading the league in those categories.

I'm one power bat short from winning the whole damn thing.
I want to make a move for one more stick, that's the missing piece.

I have three pitchers I can use to deal for a bat.
What do you think Paddack can do for me (if anything), from here on out?

He's just a nice insurance policy for me right now.

I just need one more power bat, I don't need saves, and I don't need front line starters, nor saves, stolen bases nor average.

Drop Paddack and look on the waiver wire for someone else. I've completely lost confidence in him.

Royals pitching really overachieving right now and Twins underachieving. Still early, but interesting in AL central.

I've been saying this as a baseball fan first and a Royals fan second, that is if they get any sort of pitching, than watch out world,
Did you see what that pitching staff did in that recent four game road sweep.
They didn't allow shit for four consecutive games.

Look at the boxes, my God.
Remarkable, who knew those kiddies can pitch.

The best move they made in the winter was Carlos Santana.
              Reminds me of Hosmer some.

They can't take the Rockies for granted at home here with the Padres on deck in San Diego but they've been playing good ball so hopefully they keep it up.

Yes Buster has been key to the Giants being where they are this year. He's handled the pitching staff beautifully and he has rediscovered his power stroke. That year off last year helped him recover from the wear and tear of catching every day and now he's doing it at the plate and behind the dish which is vital to the Giants success.

Yeah Paddack is starting to look like a drop candidate in fantasy or if you can find someone who will pay for his name try to offer him up in a trade. Unfortunately most people are like Jake in that they don't have confidence that Paddack can turn it around.

                                    • Center fielder George Springer’s Blue Jays debut is on hold yet again. As of Sunday, manager Charlie Montoyo was optimistic Springer would debut tonight, but that wasn’t the case. Springer is “not ready yet,” Montoyo said (Twitter links via Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet), though he did take batting practice and run the bases on Tuesday. Montoyo added that “[Springer] feels great except the running.” The former Astro has been trying to work back since suffering a right quad strain three weeks ago. In better news for the Blue Jays, ace Hyun Jin Ryu is recovering well from the right glute strain he incurred Sunday and shouldn’t miss a start, Nicholson-Smith relays.
                                    • The Braves are “likely” to activate left-hander Max Fried from the 10-day injured list next Tuesday or Wednesday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com tweets. If true, it’ll go down as roughly a three-week stay on the IL for Fried, who suffered a right hamstring strain during his most recent start on April 13. Once he returns, the 2020 NL Cy Young contender will try to rebound from a ghastly three-start, 11-inning stretch in which hitters victimized him for 15 runs (14 earned) on 23 hits and five walks.
                                    • Tuesday brought some positive and negative health-related developments for the Astros’ pitching staff. The good news: Southpaw Framber Valdez is making tremendous progress from a left ring finger injury and could rejoin their rotation sometime in June, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic relays. Valdez turned in a stellar performance in 2020, but he hasn’t gotten a chance to follow up on it this year. As for the bad news, righty reliever Pedro Baez has halted his throwing program on account of lingering shoulder soreness. The Astros transferred Baez from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday, meaning he won’t make his first appearance with the club until June 9 at the earliest. Houston signed the former Dodger to a two-year, $12.5MM guarantee over the winter.
                                    • Rockies lefty Kyle Freeland said Tuesday that he will “absolutely” pitch in the majors this season, per Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post (Twitter links). Freeland, a little over a month removed from suffering a strained pitching shoulder, had an “outstanding” bullpen session on Tuesday and could throw a sim game next week, according to manager Bud Black. However, there’s still no clear timetable for a potential 2021 debut for Freeland, who finished third on the Rockies in innings (70 2/3) and recorded a 4.33 ERA/4.95 SIERA with a 51.5 percent groundball rate last season.

I think many over valued their pitching, when in reality their staff is pretty good, not very good.

If I were a Padres fan or a Dodger fan your team to fear are the Brews.
Milwaukee's top two can match both the West Coast teams top pair pitch for pitch and their line up has some pop too.
And they got that Bader guy too.

Here's your top ten Major League team pitching staff so far ranked my the team pitching WAR metric.

Hey, what's team ranked ninth in pitching.
That can't be right, shouldn't they be ranked 29th, not ninth?

He was a dud tonight and I played him in DFS one day too late. Probably should have faded him after the ridiculous night he had last night against Scherzer.

The Padres could welcome back Dinelson Lamet from the injured list to start Sunday’s game against the Giants, writes AJ Cassavell of MLB.com. The righty got through a bullpen session this afternoon and the team will monitor how he responds over the next few days, manager Jayce Tingler told reporters. There was plenty of concern when Lamet, a 2018 Tommy John patient, left his first start of the year with forearm tightness after having his season debut delayed by a biceps issue. However, it seems he’s avoided any serious problems and could return after spending the minimum ten days on the IL during this most recent stint.
More from San Diego and the rest of the National League:
                                                      • Padres starter Ryan Weathers left his outing this evening against the Diamondbacks after one inning with left arm soreness, per a team announcement. The young southpaw topped out at 92.8 MPH with his fastball, down rather significantly from its typical mid-90’s range, Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune was among those to note (Twitter link). That prompted a mid-inning visit from the team trainer, although Weathers did finish the frame and didn’t appear to be in obvious pain while he was on the mound. It isn’t yet clear if Weathers is in jeopardy of missing any future starts.
                                                      • Brewers starter Zack Godley is headed to the injured list with a bruised finger, per Todd Rosiak and Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The right-hander left this afternoon’s game against the Marlins in the fourth inning after sustaining the injury on a bunt attempt the frame before. Today’s outing marked Godley’s first appearance of the season, as the 31-year-old was only selected to the 40-man roster earlier in the day. With Godley out, Eric Lauer will start tomorrow against the Dodgers and could be in line to join Brandon Woodruff, Corbin Burnes, Freddy Peralta and Adrian Houser in the rotation.
                                                      • Cubs catcher Austin Romine went on the injured list early this week, and it seems he’s in for an extended absence. Manager David Ross called Romine’s left wrist sprain “significant” and said the backstop would be out for a while (via Russell Dorsey of the Chicago Sun-Times). Tony Wolters was selected to the roster to back up Willson Contreras with Romine on the shelf.
