Wow what a choke job by the Dodgers unreal. Now it's 2-2 and the Rays have all the confidence in the world heading into game 5. Will Kershaw be able to deliver another clutch performance? Going to be another great game tomorrow night.

Astros reliever Josh James underwent surgery to repair a labral tear in his left hip, per Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle (via Twitter). The recovery period for James is expected to be somewhere from 6 to 8 months, which means he is likely to miss the beginning of 2021.
The Astros have hoped James would take a step forward in his development for a couple of seasons now, but he struggled more than ever in 2020, particularly with his command. He remained a big piece of the bullpen into the postseason, however, when manager Dusty Baker called his number once in the ALDS and twice in the ALCS against the Rays. James managed two scoreless innings in the middle performance, but he was hit with a blown save in each of his other two outings. He gave up 4 earned runs on 5 hits (2 home runs) in 4 innings total.
During the regular season, James saw game action 13 times, including two starts, logging a 7.27 ERA/7.06 FIP across 17 1/3 innings with 10.9 K/9 to 8.8 BB/9. His four-seamer was down a tick to an average of 96.3 mph, though it wasn’t far enough off his career norms to cause concern for the 27-year-old.

Roberts comes out smelling like a rose in game 5. I thought he never should have taken out Kershaw after 5 2/3 innings when he was cruising through the fifth and sixth innings. He just can't get out of his own way but it paid off this time. We'll see if the Dodgers can finish the job the fourth win is usually the hardest one to get in the World Series.

                                          • With the Mets likely to change hands soon, current owners Fred Wilpon and Jeff Wilpon held a Zoom call Monday “to award employees who had reached milestones for service,” Ken Davidoff of the New York Post writes. Jeff Wilpon, who thanked longstanding employees during that call, plans on leaving the organization when Steve Cohen takes over as the new owner, Andy Martino of SNY tweets.
                                          • With Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson due to reach free agency shortly, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle wonders if he would be a good fit for the rival Giants. San Francisco’s president of baseball operations, Farhan Zaidi, was previously in LA’s front office, so he’s familiar with Pederson. While Pederson should come at a reasonable price after a down regular season, Giants outfielders did hit well this year. With that in mind, it’s up in the air how much Zaidi & Co. will prioritize that area of the roster during the winter.
                                          • Nationals right-handed pitching prospect Jake Irvin underwent Tommy John surgery last week, Byron Kerr of MASNsports.com tweets. He’s likely to miss the entirety of the 2021 season as a result. The 23-year-old Irvin, whom MLB.com rates as the Nationals’ 21st-best prospect, threw 128 1/3 innings of 3.79 ERA/4.13 FIP ball during his Single-A debut in 2019.

                                                    Yeah.

And I just read where next season may be just as silly.
Just read where not many people trust Manfred.
If left unchecked Manfred is going to screw things up.

Spring training will start in February so pitchers and catchers report around the same time they always do I would think.

Dodgers were the class of baseball, definitely deserved it.

Congrats to the Dodgers. Kevin Cash got too cute pulling Snell early.

The top of the order was due up when he got pulled and they were 0-6 with 6 K's against Snell. Nick Anderson's been terrible almost the entire postseason kept getting thrown in high leverage situations and failing.

Yeah don't know what he was thinking putting in a guy who had given up a run in 6 straight appearances. Couple that with the fact he manages by what a computer tells him to do and he lost that game for the Rays more than the players. I tip my cap to the Dodgers they were the best team all year long but they certainly caught a break when he took a dominant Snell out of the game. One things for sure I'd be pissed at Cash right now if I were Snell.

Third baseman Justin Turner exited the Dodgers’ Game 6 win early because of a positive COVID-19 test, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times was among those to report. The Dodgers replaced Turner with Edwin Rios in the eighth inning.
First and foremost, the hope is that Turner will overcome the illness. The 35-year-old had another great regular season for the Dodgers, batting .307/.400/.460 with four home runs in 175 plate appearances, before totaling three playoff HRs and hitting .320/.346/.720 in the World Series.
As we head into the offseason, it’s unclear whether Turner will play for the Dodgers again. He’s set to enter the winter as one of the top infielders available in free agency, so there should be plenty of interest in him if he’s healthy.
