As it monitors the spread of the coronavirus, the NHL plans to close locker room access to the media, a source told ESPN.
The new policy came on a recommendation by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Sources told ESPN that the NHL could implement the new mandate as soon as Saturday. All media availability will be conducted in formal news conference areas.

I think NBA and NHL would both need to just go straight to the playoffs if they even resume the season at all.

NCAA debated having a 16 team tournament and just skipping the conference tournaments but decided not to do even that.

I agree both NHL and NBA should go right to playoffs if they do come back. Hopefully that's what they do because its looking like they might consider cancelling the entire season which would be awful but right now looks like a very real possibility.

best case scenario is they skip rest of regular season, go straight to playoffs, and maybe do abridged version of playoffs. Normally they drag it on as long as possible. If they shorten it, it can be done in 6 weeks or so.
