You can always think of it as rewarding whoever WINS last place, if that makes it easier to align with with your thought-master's ideology.
I've given a reason why it's better for the game. Try a thought exercise yourself and see if you can think of a logical reason that last place really should not be rewarded. And then maybe question the truth of your point totally. Doing these things will help release you from the collective and allow you to start thinking for yourself again..Comment -

You've said it several times and I've ignored it.
It's like you just want to chip at the contest for no reason and without even a decent point.
It encourages people who are not serious NASCAR fans to have a go. It gives people too low in the standings to win something to aim for when we get near the end. It means 25% of players get a return each week encouraging continued participation.
The only thing you seem to have against it is that you think participation awards of any sort are "bad". Not much in this world is ever that binary black or white. And in this case you even said yourself it would be easy to try. If you try to achieve something and do it, it's not really being "a loser" anyway.
Anyway, don't take it personally. But don't expect me not to eventually respond if you keep chipping at it just because we are friends either..Comment -

I noticed. Don't like it either. But it was not so bad when I came in last. If a person goes the whole segment and comes in last or comes in last the whole season, they get a little something back from what they donated the whole time. It's better than them dropping out and gives a reason to stay in. You are not going to come out ahead coming in last.Comment -
MMANick is really the perfect example of how the last place is supposed to work. He is probably ahead on points at this time because he has won or finished last. By all rights he should have dropped out when he forgot to put in a lineup, but he keeps at it and is not losing. He has the magic touch.
