TEN - Mike Mularkey leaves Titans

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Mularkey mutually agreed to part ways with the Titans Monday, Jan. 15, according to a source.

Things change pretty quickly around here. Mularkey's job was safe when the Titans beat the Chiefs in the Wild Card Round and there were talks about getting him an extension. That fell apart and now Mularkey finds himself looking for work (reports indicate he could be the Browns OC). The Titans may get their wish of getting Patriots OC Josh McDaniels after all.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger indicated that he will return for another season in 2018. 'So I look forward to next year with these guys,' Roethlisberger said Sunday, Jan. 14.

The New York Giants are expected to hire Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur as their next head coach, according to sources.

Shurmur has done a great job running the Vikings offense this year, especially as they've gone through changes at the QB position. Reports have often speculated that wherever Shurmur lands, QB Case Keenum would follow. That might not happen if Shurmur winds up with the Giants as they're expected to keep Eli Manning for one more season (for now) and perhaps select a QB with a premium pick in the 2018 NFL draft.

PIT - WR Martavis Bryant wants to stay

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant said he wants to return to the Steelers next season and will be ready for offseason workouts.

Bryant has had an...interesting...career with the Steelers so far. In addition to missing the 2016 season due to suspension, Bryant has had some verbal jabs with both QB Ben Roethlisberger and WR JuJu Smith-Schuster. A fourth-round pick in 2014, Bryant was scheduled to be a free agent in 2018 but his contract tolled due to the suspension. The Steelers have him under contract for one more year at the low, low price of $705,000 (in NFL terms of course!)

LAC - RB Melvin Gordon's option should be picked up

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon's fifth-year option likely will be exercised this offseason, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Eric D. Williams.

When healthy, Gordon is proven as a dangerous runner with the ability to take it to the house anytime (and from anywhere) he touches the ball. Their 2015 first-round pick finally played a full 16-game season in 2017, and Gordon had the first 1,000-yard rushing season of his pro career. We'd be shocked if Gordon wasn't retained with the fifth-year option. That would give the Chargers more time to see if he could agree to a long-term deal.

JAX - WR Allen Robinson making progress

Jacksonville Jaguars impending free-agent WR Allen Robinson (knee) said he believes he will be able to pass a physical when free agency begins. He suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Week 1.

Robinson won't be 100 percent healthy when free agency opens in March, but this injury should not set back his market. It's not that long ago that Robinson snared 80 passes for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns. Robinson should have a healthy market for teams looking for an upgrade at the WR position.

BUF - WR Kelvin Benjamin to have surgery

Buffalo Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) said he will undergo knee surgery at some point this offseason.

Good news for Benjamin and the Bills here. For most of his time with the Bills this year, Benjamin was basically playing on one leg. Bills head coach Sean McDermott said, "We know what Kelvin Benjamin is capable of when he's healthy. He showed his leadership while playing injured and we're excited to get him healthy this offseason."

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette was involved in a minor car accident Tuesday, Jan. 16, but escaped without suffering a serious injury.

Good news for the Jaguars here. There was some concern initially after the report broke that Fournette was in a car accident. It sounds like he should be able to practice fully later in the week.

PIT - Le'Veon Bell wants to remain in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell said he 'of course' would want to remain in Pittsburgh next season and that he would 'never want to leave this city,' but 'circumstances and things like that' would be the reason if he doesn't continue his tenure with the Steelers in 2018.

Last week, Bell was talking about retiring if he's slapped with the franchise tag again...and now that the Steelers are out of the playoffs he's talking about a return. If the Steelers franchise Bell again, the tag would cost around $14.5 million for the 2018 season.

The Seattle Seahawks officially hired offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. and offensive line coach Mike Solari Tuesday, Jan. 16. Defensive coordinator Kris Richard and linebackers coach Micheal Barrow were officially fired.

The Seahawks have cleaned house under head coach Pete Carroll. The Schottenheimer hiring is the most interesting from a fantasy perspective. We'll see if their new OC can create a ground game that was non-existent in 2017. That, plus working with QB Russell Wilson to protect him better.

KC - TE Travis Kelce won't play in Pro Bowl

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (concussion) will not participate in the Pro Bowl due to a concussion he suffered in the playoffs. Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker has been named as Kelce's replacement.

Kelce suffered two concussions during the 2017 season, one in the regular season and one in the playoffs. He needs to take it easy and get back in action when the Chiefs get to work at OTAs later in the spring.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles has thrown just one touchdown compared to two interceptions in five games played in Philadelphia this season. Meanwhile, he has thrown four touchdowns and zero interceptions in two road contests. The Eagles face the Minnesota Vikings in Philadelphia in the NFC Championship this weekend.

Foles will need a solid game to beat the Vikings in the NFC Championship Game. He took some time to get going in the Divisional Round, and Foles didn't have a great box score after the game. He didn't need to and the Eagles moved on. Those numbers and Foles' production will have to be better if they want to advance to the Super Bowl.

This has been the thinking for quite some time. He's a free agent, but it would be crazy for the Saints to let him hit the open market. They should sign Brees in the period where teams can sign their own free agents about a week before the chaos known as free agency begins.

New Orleans Saints TE Coby Fleener is set to count $8 million against the cap with a $6.3 million salary in 2018, making it highly unlikely he will stay with the team unless he agrees to a pay cut on the five-year, $36 million contract he signed in 2016.

His contract and his lack of production means that Fleener is gone. If (when?) the Saints choose to release him, they would still be charged $4.8 million in dead money.

TB - RB Doug Martin 'wasn't ever the same' in 2017

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin failed to rush for even 500 yards for the fourth time in five years. General manager Jason Licht attributed Martin's most recent disappointing season to his season-opening suspension and the idea he wasn't able to reach the form he showed in the preseason after returning from his three-game absence.

Martin is set to count $6.75 million against the cap in 2018, but with zero remaining in dead money we won't see him back with the team. Entering free agency with so many question marks, we can't see a ton of teams lined up for the veteran back. The fact that it's a very strong draft class at running back this year doesn't bode well for Martin either.

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson (leg) said he's 'feeling good' while rehabbing from a fractured fibula that he sustained back in November in a game against the New Orleans Saints.

Thompson was a great weapon for Washington when he was healthy, and the offense wasn't the same without him after he was hurt. Lord only knows who the quarterback will be next season, but Thompson will give the team a dangerous weapon out of the backfield when fully healthy. He's expected to be ready for training camp.

TEN - RB DeMarco Murray remains confident

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray said he believes he is 'definitely' still a top-end feature back. 'I am very confident in myself and I am excited,' he said. 'I am excited about the future, and my future. I know what kind of player I am.' He added that he 'probably' would have been able to return from injury in the next game had the Titans not lost their Divisional Round playoff affair Saturday, Jan. 13, against the New England Patriots. Murray also mentioned that he envisioned returning to the team next season.

Murray is under contract for 2018 and 2019, but we don't see him staying with the Titans at his current price. He's set to count $6.5 million against the cap in 2018, but there's nothing remaining in dead money on his deal. That means he's likely cut. Perhaps the Titans would bring him back at a cheaper price, but either way they're moving forward with Derrick Henry as their top running back.

That he had to have X-rays means that the injury was not just a mere nick or bruise. The Jaguars are not the defense you want to be facing with a throwing hand that is less than 100%.

Martin probably shouldn't have been on the roster this year. The team paid him over five million non-guaranteed dollars despite being unavailable for the first three games. Even with the endorsement of the team, he was the same unexciting back that he had been recently, and Martin was outperformed by Peyton Barber down the stretch. Martin will have to fight to be a backup next year.

MIA - WR Jarvis Landry seeking Davante Adams money

Miami Dolphins impending free-agent WR Jarvis Landry is believed to be seeking a contract similar to the one Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams received. Adams signed a four-year, $58 million deal with $32 million guaranteed.

Landry has outproduced Adams over the duration of their rookie contracts, so this shouldn't be difficult, as long as a team considers a shorter-range slot receiver valuable enough to pay like a #1. The Dolphins could franchise him, but they don't seem to value him enough to do that, even if it could allow them to recoup more in a trade than they would get as a compensatory pick.

It could also speak to the unattractiveness of the Cardinals head coaching job, but then it seems odd that Munchak would even allow a first interview.

NE - QB Tom Brady on field but does not officially practice

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (hand) was present for the stretching portion of practice Thursday, Jan. 18, after injuring his hand in practice Wednesday, Jan. 17. But he was officially listed as not practicing. According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, the swelling in Brady's hand doesn't appear to have worsened as he was on the field stretching instead of receiving treatment. The extent of Brady's practice participation was not disclosed.

This is worth watching, and he has a brutal matchup. That said, we have to think Brady will be out there. He'll put up points and while the production may not be what he normally does, who are you trusting over him? Nick Foles against a tough Minnesota defense? Blake Bortles? Case Keenum? It's not a great matchup and the injury is a worry but he's the most reliable guy here. The team's last practice of the week is Friday and the team will have a walk through Saturday. Watch to see what he's able to do Friday.

We'd still rather start Dion Lewis, but Burkhead is a solid start this week.

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) will not need surgery to repair his torn posterior cruciate ligament and sprained medial collateral ligament, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Freeman backslid just like the rest of the Falcons offense, though injury played a factor in him missing 1,000 yards. Hopefully he can rehab enough to not risk further injury when 2018 starts up.

Alabama WR Calvin Ridley was given to the Chicago Bears in the first 2018 mock draft by ESPN NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper. Ridley is widely considered the top wide receiver available in the 2018 draft class.

The Bears are desperate for receiving help. Kevin White is never healthy and Alshon Jeffery is long gone. It's too early to take mocks seriously - well, it's always too early for that - but this makes a lot of sense.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jay Ajayi said that he's 'driven' to avenge the Miami Dolphins' decision to trade him earlier in the season and that he's trying to prove them wrong for shipping him out in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick. He added, 'I don't think it will be redemption until I win the Super Bowl. If we can get that done, then I'll have my redemption.'

We aren't shocked he's motivated and while we understood his off-field attitude needed work, we still think the Dolphins pulled the rip cord too soon. Frankly, nobody seems to know what way is up in Miami. Ajayi and the Eagles face a tough task in the form of a good Minnesota defense this week. The top of the running backs are tight this week, but Ajayi could be decent value for his production - which should be solid - in DFS.

Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry does not plan on taking any sort of hometown discount, according to his agent, Damarius Bilbo. 'Absolutely not,' said Bilbo when asked about the issue. 'This may be Jarvis' first and last time to set himself up and his family up. He needs to strike and strike while the iron is hot.' Bilbo also mentioned that he is waiting on the Dolphins to respond to his contract proposal.

New York Jets WR Robby Anderson was arrested in Florida Friday, Jan. 19, and is facing nine charges including reckless driving, eluding police, resisting arrest and harm to a public servant or family member.

The police report states that Anderson was speeding, clocked at 105 mph in a 45 mph zone. He eluded police but eventually pulled over. In the back of the police car, Anderson allegedly threatened the arresting officer's family. This isn't the first time Anderson has had a run in with the law, as last year he was arrested at a music festival where he was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing justice.

We'll see them search for a no4 WR behind Antonio Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Martavis Bryant.
