Blue Jays hire Charlie Montoyo as their new manager, never heard of him before. Important to have a manager that is fluent in Spanish with the Vlad Jr. era to begin in 2019.

        agree with this, but...

stupidly I bet Dodgers game 2 and they really gave off a vibe that they feel defeated, not just that game, but like knowing they are not the better team, that's what I saw anyway

Couple of tidbits from travel day at Dodger Stadium: Dave Roberts said Rich Hill will start Game 4 for L.A., which was expected.

Alex Cora said that Mookie Betts will not start at second base in Game 3, but emphasized the word "start".

So Betts may see some action at the keystone at some point. Roberts also said that Joc Pederson will bat leadoff in Game 3 against Boston's Rick Porcello.

If the World Series goes to a Game 5, the Dodgers, Kings, Clippers, Ducks, Rams and Galaxy will all be playing at home on Sunday..... dodgers may have a tough time filling the stadium!

Porcello is not a great pitcher really.

The Angels announced Friday that they’ve claimed catcher Kevan Smith off waivers from the White Sox and cleared a spot on the 40-man roster by designating fellow backstop Joe Hudson for assignment.
Smith, 30, has spent parts of the past three seasons with the White Sox, totaling 146 games and 497 plate appearances with a .281/.318/.376 batting line, seven homers and 23 doubles in that time. He’s struggled enormously when it comes to controlling the running game, though, posting an anemic 14 percent caught-stealing rate. From a pitch-framing standpoint, Baseball Prospectus has given Smith rougly average marks between the Majors and minors over the past few seasons while rating his blocking skills to be below average.
Smith is out of minor league options, meaning he can’t be sent to the minors next year unless he first clears waivers — assuming he even sticks on the 40-man roster all winter, which is far from a given.
As for Hudson, the 27-year-old hit well with the Double-A and Triple-A affiliates for the Angels this season, albeit in minuscule sample sizes. Hudson notched a .970 OPS in seven games with the Double-A club before moving up to Triple-A and hitting .311/.380/.478 in 101 PAs. He’s also drawn solid framing marks over the past couple of seasons in the minors and has a career 43 percent caught-stealing rate.
Hudson went 2-for-12 in a late-season cameo with the Angels — a brief stint that marked his MLB debut. Generally speaking, however, he’s struggled with the bat in the upper levels of the minor leagues, hitting just .196/.297/.289 in parts of three Double-A seasons.

Lots of great pitching last night, but so many questionable plays. Base running and defense struggled in big moments for big leaguers.

Went to bed in the 10th.

Eduardo Rodriguez starts Game 4 for Boston. I wouldn't expect more than 4 from him but I don't know where they get innings from today. Maybe Pomeranz will pitch 2 innings or something.

fell asleep in bottom of 8th after JBJ tied it up in the top 8th with his solo blast. Felt like it was gonna go extras for sure at that point. But 18 innings....wow!

A lot of strange moves from both managers.

                                                  Benintendi sitting last night.

Dave Roberts starting Muncy, Bellinger, and Puig against a LHP tonight.

Roberts repeatedly using Madson in high leverage spots when the dude was horrible this season.

Drew Pomeranz being on the WS roster and then not being used.

Roberts repeatedly using Madson in high leverage spots when the dude was horrible this season.

                                                      Really bad decision .

Dave Roberts will be roasted for his decision to take Hill out after pitching a 1 hitter but that's how he manages. Too much analytics and not enough just pure instinct. He got burned tonight and I think that LA will never win a championship with him as manager which is okay by me as a Giant fan.

Maeda wasn't very good last night, there is no way Roberts should have put him in that situation.

None of his bullpen was very good in game 4. Maeda poured gasoline on the fire but I knew as soon as Madson came in that game the Red Sox had a shot to erase that 4 run defecit.
