PIT - Ben Roethlisberger might miss just one game

Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Ron Cook

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (knee) will have surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. Some are suggesting that Roethlisberger might possibly be back for Week 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He will not play in the Week 7 game against the New England Patriots, but the team has a bye in Week 8. There is no official timetable for Roethlisberger's return, but it is possible he might be ready for the Week 9 game against the Baltimore Ravens, missing just one game.

DAL - WR Dez Bryant says he's coming back

Source: NFL Network - Jane Slater

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee) told NFL Network's Jane Slater as he was walking off the field Sunday, Oct. 16, that he intends to play against the Philadelphia Eagles. '(You) don't have to ask me anymore, I'm good,' Bryant said. 'I'm playing against Philly.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bryant has been close to playing, but the Cowboys decided to shut him down in Week 6 against the Packers. When Bryant returns, it will cut into the fantasy value of guys like Cole Beasley and Terrance Williams.

GB - RB James Starks may miss four weeks

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafalo

Green Bay Packers RB James Starks (knee) is expected to miss around four weeks after undergoing knee surgery this past weekend. The Packers is considering Starks week-to-week at this point.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Some are suggesting he may only miss a couple of weeks, but it sure looks like he won't be back anytime soon. In the meantime, the Packers will use WRs Randall Cobb and Ty Montgomery in the backfield.

KC - RB Jamaal Charles not ready for full load

Source: The Kansas City Star - Terez A. Paylor

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) continues to see increased activity, but he is still not ready to assume the full workload according to head coach Andy Reid.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Charles is asking for more work, but the team still used Spencer Ware as the primary back. Going forward, that should be the case for the Chiefs. Ware can do the heavy lifting as Charles is continually eased back into action. This is a smart move for both players as it should help keep them fresh for what the Chiefs hope is a playoff run.

CLE - WR Terrelle Pryor suffers hamstring injury

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns WR Terrelle Pryor (hamstring) sustained a hamstring injury during a Week 6 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Head coach Hue Jackson said the team will 'see how it goes' throughout the week in regards to his status for Week 7 versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That means Pryor is likely to be limited in practice this week. Hamstring injuries can linger if they don't get enough time to heal. The team will take it easy on Pryor as he works through this. Check back on Friday to get an update on Pryor's progress as he may be limited on both Wednesday and Thursday.

DEN - Gary Kubiak back at work

Source: The Associated Press - Arnie Stapleton

Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak returned to work Monday, Oct. 17, after taking last week off to recuperate from a complex migraine that kept him away from the team in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kubiak took the week off as the Broncos played the Chargers (and lost) on Thursday night. This time, they have plenty of things to work on as they prepare to face the Houston Texans (and former Broncos QB Brock Osweiler) on Monday night in Week 7.

GB - RB Eddie Lacy being evaluated

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) was clearly limited throughout parts of the team's Week 6 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, but head coach Mike McCarthy was noncommittal when asked whether or not he suffered a setback during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lacy showed toughness playing through this ankle injury. He kept leaping over defenders and coming down gingerly on that ankle, but Lacy was able to get 65 yards on 17 carries.

TB - RB Doug Martin out of practice

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (hamstring) is out of practice Monday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Many felt Martin would be back after the team's bye in Week 6. He still may be able to play against the 49ers on Sunday, but Martin is likely to be eased into practice. We'll see if he can get out there by Friday.

CHI - QB Brian Hoyer on a roll

    Source: NFL.com

Chicago Bears QB Brian Hoyer is the first Bears quarterback since at least 1960 to throw for at least 300 passing yards in four straight games.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It sure seems like this is his job to lose. Jay Cutler may not see the field again if Hoyer continues to play well.

SEA - DE Michael Bennett avoids serious injury

Source: Seattle Post-Intelligencer - Stephen Cohen
Seattle Seahawks DE Michael Bennett's (knee) tests on his injured knee came back clean, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bullet dodged for the Seahawks here. Bennett was cut by Falcons OT Jake Matthews and had to be helped off the field on Sunday. We'll likely see him limited during practice as he deals with this injury.

IND - WR Donte Moncrief closer to return

    Source: Colts.com - Kevin Bowen

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) is getting closer to returning to action, according to head coach Chuck Pagano, but there is still no set date for that return.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Colts could use Moncrief back ASAP, but they're not going to rush him. He's progressing well, but that doesn't mean he's close to returning. The team hasn't gotten much from the other receivers not named T.Y. Hilton.

TEN - WR Tajae Sharpe regressing

    Source: ESPN.com - Paul Kuharsky

Tennessee Titans WR Tajae Sharpe has 'taken a step back,' according to head coach Mike Mularkey. Mularkey added that Sharpe works hard to fine tune his game, but he has to transfer that hard work onto the field.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sharpe had a bunch of hype around him in the preseason. The rookie is talented and has the ability to be a strong starter in the NFL, but his game hasn't yet fully developed. Re-draft owners should have moved on already but we still have faith that dynasty owners will be rewarded in the future for their faith in Sharpe.

WAS - Jordan Reed will visit a doctor

    Source: Redskins.com
Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (concussion) will visit an independent doctor Tuesday, Oct. 18, according to head coach Jay Gruden.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Reed needs to be cleared from the concussion protocol before he can resume practicing. We'll see if the independent doctor gives him the thumbs up.

SF - QB Colin Kaepernick still starter

    Source: 49ers.com
San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick will remain the starting quarterback in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to head coach Chip Kelly.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
After one game, it is not time to pull Kaepernick. We saw his ability to run the ball come through and he didn't have a good connection with Jeremy Kerley. The 49ers should work on his timing/chemistry with receivers during the week of practice.

CLE - QB Cody Kessler to remain the starter

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns QB Cody Kessler appears to be locked in as the starting quarterback for the foreseeable future after head coach Hue Jackson stated as much Monday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Josh McCown should be ready to return in the near future, but it seems the Browns are going to stick with the rookie. Mostly panned as a third-round pick, Kessler has moved the ball with short/efficient passing. The Browns aren't going anywhere this year, so it makes sense to give the rookie as much time as possible.

MIA - RB Arian Foster not at full health

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) is still not at 100 percent, according to head coach Adam Gase. Gase did say that Foster 'still brings something to the table,' however.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
With Foster still banged up, it was Jay Ajayi who shined against the Steelers on Sunday. The Dolphins seemed to have the right O-Line combination (finally) after going through six different versions up front. We'll see if Foster cuts into Ajayi's workload as the veteran gets healthier, and we'll see if the Dolphins can continue to run the ball better going forward.

CLE - WR Corey Coleman still awaiting clearance

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman (hand) has yet to be cleared for practice and will likely miss his fifth straight game in Week 7 versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Coleman isn't back just yet. He might miss two or three more games as he continues to recover. However, now might be the time (especially in deeper leagues) to take a flier on Coleman. Make him a preemptive pickup and stash him on your bench if you've got the space.

PHI - WR Jordan Matthews battling tendinitis

Source: Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane
Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) is dealing with a case of knee tendinitis, but he missed only missed four snaps in a Week 6 loss to the Washington Redskins and is expected to practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Matthews toughed it out through this injury in the game against Washington. If he practices on Wednesday, he might be limited. See if he can practice on Friday before considering him for your fantasy lineup.

CAR - Carolina sticking with PK Graham Gano

    Source: ESPN.com - David Newton

Carolina Panthers K Graham Gano is expected to keep his job for the foreseeable future after head coach Ron Rivera addressed the topic Monday, Oct. 17. Rivera created a bit of a stir one day earlier when he was somewhat evasive after fielding a question about concern over Gano's kicking this season.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
If Gano keeps missing kicks, the team may move in a different direction. The Panthers need to get back on the winning track. At 1-5 they are unlikely to make the playoffs the year after they represented the NFC in the Super Bowl.

PHI - WR Dorial Green-Beckham seeing more action

Source: Philadelphia Inquirer - Zach Berman

Philadelphia Eagles WR Dorial Green-Beckham participated in 42-of-52 snaps in a Week 6 loss against the Washington Redskins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's seeing more action in terms of snaps, but Green-Beckham is only getting four targets per game. He's been targeted the same amount each of the last four games, and in the game against Washington on Sunday Green-Beckham hauled in only one pass for 23 yards.

MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill protected in Week 6

Source: NFL Network - Aditi Kinkhabwala
Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill wasn't sacked in Week 6 and was hit just two times after he was sacked 17 times in the first five games.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Dolphins have had six different O-Line combinations this year. It looks like they finally have the right one.

        Wednesday Update

GB - RB Eddie Lacy could be out a while

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) is expected to miss several weeks. He's dealing with more than just a sprained ankle.
        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lacy played with the ankle injury in Week 6, but he was clearly bothered by it. Without Lacy and James Starks, the Packers may give a large workload to newly acquired Knile Davis.

NYJ - WR Eric Decker has hip surgery

        Source: NewYorkJets.com - Eric Allen

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hip) underwent hip surgery Tuesday, Oct. 18. Decker is expected to recover in six months.
        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's shut down for this year, but Decker will return for 2017. Once Decker sheds his crutches, he'll have another procedure on his injured shoulder. The estimated recovery time for the shoulder surgery is eight months.

NE - RB Dion Lewis unlikely to practice this week

        Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots RB Dion Lewis (knee) 'probably' will not practice this week, according to head coach Bill Belichick.

        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lewis is eligible to return this week, but the Patriots will be cautious with him as he returns from this knee injury. In the meantime, James White will continue to get plenty of work as the pass-catching back for the Patriots. It's time to pick up Lewis and stash him on your bench if you have space.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers has owned the Bears

        Source: ProFootballReference.com

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is 12-4 against the Chicago Bears in his career. In those 16 games he has thrown 35 touchdowns and just nine interceptions. Those 35 touchdowns are tied for the most against any team Rodgers has played, the Minnesota Vikings being the other team.

        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Things haven't been explosive for the Packers offense like we're used to. There's a good chance they look like their old selves against a bad Bears defense on Thursday night.

LA - RB Todd Gurley not finding room

        Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley is averaging a mere 2.9 yards per carry through six games this season. He is tied for third among running backs with 119 attempts, but has only gained 346 yards on the ground. He has been more involved in the passing game, however. After catching 21 passes in 13 games last year, Gurley has already caught 15 passes in six games this year.

        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Rams need to do what they can to get Gurley on track. As Case Keenum opens things up with the passing attack, then rushing lanes for Gurley should get larger. He's still a RB2 for fantasy owners with RB1 upside.

TB - WR Vincent Jackson injury could possibly return later

        Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine

Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (knee) does not definitively have a torn anterior cruciate ligament, according to a source. The injury is still being evaluated, but Jackson could return this season if it is determined that the injury is not to the ACL. If the injury is to Jackson's medial collateral ligament, then he may be able to avoid surgery and recover sooner. Jackson will miss at least six weeks and won't be able to play in a game for eight weeks.

        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Either way, fantasy owners have long moved on from the veteran receiver. He may be able to return later in the year for one last hurrah with the Bucs. Without him in the lineup, we should see more work for WR Adam Humphries.

DEN - OLB DeMarcus Ware back in two weeks?

        Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos LB DeMarcus Ware (forearm) is expected to return by Week 9 against the Oakland Raiders. Ware said his recovery process from a broken right forearm is where it should be after four weeks, adding that he wants to make sure he doesn't rush back.

        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Broncos have pass-rushers falling out of their pockets, but it will help them to get Ware back. When he returns, Ware should play as a part-time player behind Shane Ray.

IND - WR Aaron Dobson visits Colts

        Source: ESPN - Adam Caplan

Free-agent WR Aaron Dobson (Patriots) visited the Indianapolis Colts Tuesday, Oct. 18.

        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If the Colts want a receiver who drops too many passes, then Dobson is their man.

GB - Aaron Rogers remains confident

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafalo

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers admitted that he and the offense have been 'a little bit off', but he's confident that they'll get back on track soon.

        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

"R-E-L-A-X" is what Rodgers wants to say...again, to Packers fans (and we're saying it to fantasy owners). He threw his first second-half TD pass of the season last week, and the Packers aren't quite as high-powered on offense as many were expecting.

GB - WR Randall Cobb has limited practice

        Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (back) was limited in practice Tuesday, Oct. 18.

        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cobb should get worked in more as a receiver as the Packers try to find the right formula for their passing attack. He's a WR2/flex option this week against the Bears.

CHI - WR Eddie Royal still absent

        Source: ESPNChicago.com - Jeff Dickerson

Chicago Bears WR Eddie Royal (toe) did not practice Tuesday, Oct. 18.

        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Royal needs to practice on Wednesday (even if he's limited) if he wants to play against the Packers on Thursday night.

CHI - TE Zach Miller limited

Source: Chicago Tribune - Brad Biggs

Chicago Bears TE Zach Miller (ribs) was limited in practice Tuesday, Oct. 18.

        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller should be able to play on a short week. He should be considered a low-end TE1 against the Packers on Thursday night.

HOU - WR Will Fuller confident he'll return

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (hamstring) said he is feeling good, is ready to practice and is looking forward to playing the Denver Broncos in Week 7.

        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller's deep speed is going to stretch the Broncos defense vertically. If QB Brock Osweiler has time to throw downfield, Fuller could be in for some deep shots on Monday night.

CLE - Robert Griffin won't need surgery

        Source: ESPN - Jeff Darlington

Cleveland Browns QB Robert Griffin III (shoulder) will not need surgery on his injured shoulder, barring any setbacks. Griffin's four-week checkup revealed healing in Griffin's fractured coracoid bone in his left shoulder, according to sources.

        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's good news for Griffin, but it doesn't mean the Browns would go back to the veteran QB. Griffin is on the short-term Reserve/Injured list and wouldn't be able to return to action until Nov. 10. In the meantime, rookie Cody Kessler will likely continue as the team's starter. They're not going anywhere, and Kessler is getting a lot of valuable experience this year.

SF - RB Carlos Hyde spotted with arm in sling

        Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) headed out to practice Tuesday, Oct. 18, with his arm in a sling.

        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on this situation as the week of practice goes on. Hyde sustained a shoulder injury in a Week 6 loss versus the Buffalo Bills. He should be able to play against the Bucs in Week 7, and Hyde should stay around his low-end RB2 levels. If he can't play (or is limited), then Mike Davis would get a few more touches.

PIT - No decision yet on TE Ladarius Green's status

Source: NFL Network - Aditi Kinkhabwala

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) is eligible to return to practice this week, but head coach Mike Tomlin said a decision to that end has yet to be made.

        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Steelers have a bye in Week 8, so they could give Green more rest if he's out this week. When they return in Week 9 against the Ravens, QB Ben Roethlisberger could be back and we may see Green on the practice field as well.

PIT - WR Markus Wheaton questionable for Week 7

Source: Washington Observer-Reporter - Dale Lolley

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Markus Wheaton (shoulder) will likely be questionable to play Week 7 against the New England Patriots, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.

        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Downgrade all your Steelers without Ben Roethlisberger. We've moved on from Wheaton in most leagues, and we're not excited about him even if he does play against the Patriots.

DEN - RB Devontae Booker to see more action

        Source: ESPN.com - Jeff Legwold
Denver Broncos RB Devontae Booker will be giving more opportunities after providing a spark for the team in recent weeks, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.
        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Kubiak was asked if more of Booker meant less for C.J. Anderson and he said no. However, more for Booker does not mean more for Anderson. We could see this turn into a 50/50 committee for the Broncos. Fantasy owners should consider Anderson as a low-end RB2 and Booker as a RB3/flex play going forward.

          Thursday Update

NYJ - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick benched

          Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has lost the starting quarterback job Wednesday, Oct. 19, according to league sources.

          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He'll be a $12 million backup for the Jets as they want to look at Geno Smith as their starter. If Smith struggles, then perhaps the team will turn to a young QB like Bryce Petty or Christian Hackenberg instead of going back to Fitzpatrick.

Updating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers president Art Rooney said a two-to-three week timetable for QB Ben Roethlisberger (knee) is considered a best-case scenario but believes a fair range for his return would be two to six weeks.

          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He could return anywhere from now until the end of time. The timetable games are in full effect with Roethlisberger. It was supposed to be two weeks, then it was four to six weeks....and now it's two to six weeks. That sounds about right.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy injures hamstring

          Source: ESPN.com - Mike Rodak

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury during practice Wednesday, Oct. 19, and was not able to finish practice. The team will not know the severity of the injury until McCoy undergoes a medical evaluation.

          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners need to be dialed in here. Monitor his status over the next two days of practice to see what his level of participation is. If he were to be limited (or miss time), then Mike Gillislee would be a RB every fantasy owner would want to add.

SF - RB Carlos Hyde expected to miss Week 7

          Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Oct. 19, and is not expected to play in Week 7.

          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners need to take note here. The 49ers play against the Buccaneers on Sunday (at home), so don't expect more than RB3/flex production. RBs Mike Davis and Shaun Draughn likely would split carries if Hyde is ruled out.

DAL - QB Tony Romo out for Week 8

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) won't be ready to return for Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles following the bye week. His status for Nov. 6 against the Cleveland Browns is also in question.

          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With the way that Dak Prescott is playing, the team doesn't need to rush Romo back. In fact, there's no guarantee that Romo will be starting once he is healthy enough to play.

Keep an eye on this situation. Hamstring injuries take time to properly heal, and the Browns will be cautious with Pryor. Make sure he practices on Friday before starting him this week.

          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It just means more targets for Cameron Meredith and Alshon Jeffery. We should see a bump for TE Zach Miller too.

          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Packers should just go empty backfield all game long. Kidding aside, their hurting right now at RB with Lacy and James Starks down. Knile Davis should get some touches, and practice squad RB Don Jackson should be promoted to the 53-man roster.

It's been all downhill since that Buffalo game, right? Forte has fallen out of favor with his fantasy owners, and right now we can only recommend him as a RB2/flex play.

The Packers have a short week with the Bears coming up on Thursday night. With Eddie Lacy's status in question, the team is especially short-handed at RB. Newly acquired Knile Davis could have a larger role than originally thought, and Montgomery could have a bunch of short catches to supplement what they won't be getting from the running attack.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy looking like a GTD - Others Say Out

Source: The Associated Press - John Wawrow

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) will be considered a game-time decision for the team's Week 7 game Sunday, Oct. 23, according to a person with direct knowledge of the star running back's hamstring injury. Head coach Rex Ryan is 'hopeful' that McCoy can play. ESPN's Josina Anderson reported Thursday: "I'm told #Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) is not playing this Sunday and could miss more time thereafter, depending on healing."

              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ugh. At least it's an early game so you have time to adjust your lineup. That said, Mike Gillislee is the next man up and without McCoy there could be a nice RB2 play in an offense which will still try to run the ball.

GB - RB Eddie Lacy placed on IR

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafalo
Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Thursday, Oct. 20. The team also signed practice squad RB Don Jackson to their active roster.

              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We may have seen the last of Lacy in Green Bay if he truly didn't keep the weight off. Ty Montgomery will see some work in the backfield. Some leagues might have him as a running back, though we've heard very little of that. Make sure where he counts before you put him in the lineup. Don Jackson was looking to see work but left the game with a hand injury. Back to Lacy, he's a talented back but the extra weight seems to be putting more wear and tear on him so we'll see if he can rebound long term.

              Source: NewYorkJets.com

              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

His knee may be OK but his value is wonky as heck. The Jets seem to be splitting carries but not running enough overall and barely using Forte in the pass game. Add in Geno Smith and Forte has an element of risk to him. He's a low-end RB2 this week, and we're a bit concerned about the overall Jets situation as this team looks on the verge of complete collapse.

Gore has a great matchup this week against Tennessee and we expect him to put up solid RB2 numbers. Last week Gore had the first 100-yard rushing game for the Colts since 2012, which is both depressing and great all at once. Great for Gore, who continues to play at a high level at 33 and depressing for the Colts because that's a long time without a 100 yard game.

Zach Zenner and Justin Forsett will get Riddick's carries and targets. Last week Zenner got most of the carries and Forsett gave him a breather. The split might be a bit more even this week, but Zenner is still the better bet with a chance for RB3 production.

Allen is likely out, and that means Jack Doyle (who sounds like a film noir private eye) will get the tight end targets. When not chasing the Maltese Falcon or hitting "mugs" with a "blackjack" Doyle should have TE2 production.

Sanu is no more than a bye week/emergency start, as he is too inconsistent in this offense (as he was in Cincinnati) to trust otherwise. Start him as no more than a WR6 but be forewarned, you never know when he will lay an egg.

                  Source: Chiefs.com - B.J. Kissel

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 21, due to some swelling in his surgically repaired knee and will be listed as questionable for Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Spencer Ware moves up to strong RB1 status with this news. New Orleans has been giving up touchdowns to running backs in bunches this year and it sounds like Charles workload is going to be scaled back if he plays.

NE - Questionable tag for WR Julian Edelman

                  Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 21, and is listed as questionable for Week 7.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Edelman has been marginalized to a secondary option in the Patriots passing game, which is now oriented around their all-world tight end combination. He's a high ceiling WR3/Flex against the Steelers this weekend.

Bennett will play against Pittsburgh and he has a high ceiling despite his questionable designation.

CLE - WR Terrelle Pryor has a shot to play Week 7

                  Source: SiriusXM NFL Radio

Cleveland Browns WR Terrelle Pryor (hamstring) has 'a chance' to play Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to head coach Hue Jackson.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's not very optimistic. With only one limited practice this week, we expect Pryor to sit. If he does play against Cincinnati, he'll be a boom/bust WR3/Flex play with risk of re-injury or limited effectiveness.

HOU - WR Will Fuller good to go for MNF

Source: NFL Network - James Palmer

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (hamstring) will play in Week 7 against the Denver Broncos after failing to log a snap despite being active in Week 6.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller looks like he'll play but will have a tough matchups against the stifling Broncos secondary.

PIT - RB DeAngelo Williams will not play Week 7

                  Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Pittsburgh Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams (knee) has been ruled out Week 7 against the New England Patriots.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fitzgerald Toussaint will back up LeVeon Bell this week. With Ben Roethlisberger out for at least a few weeks and Williams hurting, his place as an essential handcuff hold is getting precarious in short bench leagues.

DAL - WR Dez Bryant should be cleared for Week 8

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee) is expected to return Week 8 versus the Philadelphia Eagles, according to team owner Jerry Jones.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bryant will get back into our lineups against the Eagles, whose defense is starting lose their dominant early season form. He might not have the same ceiling with Dak Prescott as he has with Tony Romo, but Bryant will still be a WR2 for fantasy.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy's status to be decided Sunday

                  Source: NFL.com - Jeremy Bergman

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) will be a game-time decision, according to head coach Rex Ryan.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looks like he will a true game-time decision after all. Consider McCoy a boom/bust RB1 if he plays because of the risk of in-game re-injury. If McCoy is out, Mike Gillislee will be a low RB2 with upside against the Dolphins.

WAS - Questionable tag for WR DeSean Jackson

                  Source: NFL

Washington Redskins WR DeSean Jackson (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 21, and is listed as questionable for Week 7.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jackson is facing a Lions secondary that recently allowed Eddie Royal and Kenny Britt to go off for over 100 yards against them. As long as he's active, he'll be worth a look as a boom/bust WR3/Flex.

OAK - RB Latavius Murray questionable for Week 7

                  Source: NFL

Oakland Raiders RB Latavius Murray (toe) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 21, and is listed as questionable for Week 7.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Murray could return this week, but he'll be mired in a three-way committee against a sometimes tough Jacksonville defense. He's just trying to justify a spot on our rosters at this point.

IND - WR T.Y. Hilton's status in question

                  Source: NFL

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (hip) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 21, but is listed as questionable for Week 7.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hilton has been on the injury report for most of this season, but he is producing like an elite WR1 when his game is on. The lack of complementary targets is making Hilton's job a little harder, but it's also giving him a massive target share. He's a WR1 against the Titans this week.

MIA - RB Arian Foster listed as questionable

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 21, but is listed as questionable for Week 7.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jay Ajayi should lead this backfield as long as he doesn't end back in doghouse like he was at the beginning of the season. Foster is only worth carrying in deep PPR leagues.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Palmer has a tough matchup against Seattle this week and it appears that he is not 100%. It's best to leave him on your bench if you can.

MIN - WR Stefon Diggs questionable for Week 7

Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Matt Vensel

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs (hamstring) will be listed as questionable for Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles, although head coach Mike Zimmer told the media Friday, Oct. 21 that he expects Diggs to play.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Diggs hot start is small in the rear view mirror now. He's just a low ceiling WR3/Flex play against the Eagles with the Vikings and Sam Bradford working in more of their secondary receiving options in a low volume pass offense.

BAL - WR Steve Smith listed as doubtful again

                  Source: NFLMedia.com

Baltimore Ravens WR Steve Smith (ankle) has been listed as doubtful for the team's Week 7 game Sunday, Oct. 23, versus the New York Jets. He also sat out practice again Friday, Oct. 21.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mike Wallace will be the #1 receiver this week, but Joe Flacco is hurting and he might see a lot of Darrelle Revis. Dennis Pitta will also see more targets with Smith out, but he is only a low ceiling PPR play at tight end.

WAS - WR Josh Doctson heads to injured reserve

Source: The Washington Post - Master Tesfatsion

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson (Achilles) has been placed on injured reserve. In a corresponding move, the team promoted WR Maurice Harris from the practice squad.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's best for Doctson's dynasty outlook to be shut down and give his achilles more time to get right. Jordan Reed's red zone role will be intact when he gets back, and Jamison Crowder and Pierre Garcon will stay in our flex play/bench depth tier with Doctson shelved.

NE - RB Dion Lewis' return not imminent?

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots RB Dion Lewis (knee) was eligible to practice this week but did not, and the Boston Herald's Jeff Howe speculates 'it's certainly possible Lewis' return isn't imminent'.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lewis is only a stash in very deep PPR leagues right now. He isn't near a return and the Patriots likely won't give him near the same workload he had last year. James White's spot as the PPR upside running back for the Patriots is safe.

You can go back to Beckham this week coming off of his first, but likely not last, transcendental performance this year.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Benjamin should go and is a boom/bust WR3/Flex play against the Falcons. This could be a high-scoring game in the Georgia Dome with the quality of both quarterbacks.

JAX - TE Julius Thomas' status in question

                  Source: NFL

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 21, and is listed as questionable for Week 7.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thomas should play but he hasn't given us a reason to start him for a while. The matchup against the Raiders is potentially a good one, but Thomas and more importantly Blake Bortles have to be effective for it to take. Thomas isn't a TE1 right now.

SF - WR Torrey Smith listed as questionable

Source: Sacramento Bee - Matt Barrows

San Francisco 49ers WR Torrey Smith (back) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 21, and will be questionable to play Week 7 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Smith has a good matchup against a Tampa secondary that has given up deep balls to inferior wide receivers this year. You'll have to wait for the late inactives, but if Smith goes, he's an upside play in your deep league flex slot.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Clay should play and lead the Bills in targets with de facto #1 wide receiver Robert Woods out.

Tyrod Taylor's thin passing games gets even thinner this week. Look for tight end Charles Clay to lead the team in targets. Walter Powell and Marquise Goodwin will get more work at wide receiver with Woods out.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert's status yet to be determined

                  Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (back) will not be a game-time decision, according to head coach Marvin Lewis, who said he'll make the call on whether the Pro Bowler will make his season debut in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Eifert won't play a full complement of snaps if he does go, so he'll be a boom/bust low TE1 play if active. Cleveland is a good matchup, so if you don't have an obvious play over Eifert, give him a shot if he is active on Sunday.

Riddick is unlikely to play this week. If Dwayne Washington also can't go, Zach Zenner will merit flex consideration, but if Washington goes, expect him and Zenner to split the work with Justin Forsett mixed in, leaving us with no play in the Lions backfield.

ATL - RB Tevin Coleman has hamstring injury

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) left the Week 7 game against the San Diego Chargers due to a hamstring injury. He is sitting on the sidelines without his helmet. Coleman tried walking around for a minute but sat back down.

Coleman had one of the better runs of his career on his touchdown, but his momentum came to a screeching halt. Next week, Devonta Freeman could be the feature back next week against Green Bay.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy felt pain in hamstring
                              Source: ESPN.com - Mike Rodak
Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) said Sunday, Oct. 23, that he felt 'a little pain in his injured left hamstring in the Week 7 game against the Miami Dolphins while running a pass route in the third quarter. He and the team decided to sit him for the remainder of the game. 'I just tried to take off,' he said. 'The smartest thing to do (was to sit), instead of re-injuring anything or making it worse. I kind of felt it was a warning.'

The Bills took the loss today and have the dreaded Patriots up next. Their bye isn't until Week 10, so they will have a similar decision on McCoy next week, and fantasy owners will too if McCoy's practice schedule is similar to this week. He shredded the Patriots a few weeks ago, but it will hard to trust him this week.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is back, but it's fair to wonder if we will see Bryce Petty or Christian Hackenberg by the end of the year with the way the Jets quarterback situation is going.

Cleveland Browns QB Cody Kessler (head) left the team's Week 7 game early and is being evaluated for a concussion. Kessler has been replaced by QB Kevin Hogan.

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (concussion) is not expected to play in the team's Week 8 game. He probably will be able to return after the Week 9 bye.

We can't be sure he'll be back in Week 10 because of the nature of concussion symptoms. Don't throw Vernon Davis back just yet.

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate had six receptions for 93 yards in the Week 7 game against the Washington Redskins. He was targeted 12 times.

Tate is fully back in the offense and in your lineup. He's a solid WR3/Flex heading into Houston as the problems that got him benched three weeks ago are behind him.

Detroit Lions WR Marvin Jones posted four receptions for a team-high 94 yards on five targets in the Week 7 game against the Washington Redskins.

Jones longest play of the day also knocked Josh Norman out of the game with a concussion. He'll have the highest ceiling of any Lions receiver weekly being the primary downfield receiver in the Lions offense.

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi rushed 28 times for 214 yards and a touchdown in the Week 7 game against the Buffalo Bills, becoming just the fourth player in NFL history to run for 200 or more yards in back-to-back games joining former Dolphins RB Ricky Williams and Hall of Famers Earl Campbell and O.J. Simpson.
                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ajayi is fully out of the doghouse and knocking on the door of everyweek running back fantasy starter status in the newfound Dolphins running game. He'll face a great test after the bye when Miami faces the Jets in Week 9.

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall caught three passes for 39 yards against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7.
                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Marshall was left out in the cold as the Jets actually went run heavy in this game. Next week against the Browns should be another game where the Jets can go run heavy, but Marshall can still be a strong play because of the quality of the matchup.

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick went 9-for-14 for 120 yards and one touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7. Fitzpatrick entered the game when QB Geno Smith (knee) left with an injury.
                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fitzpatrick still has minimal fantasy value, but if he is the starter against Cleveland next week, he could be worth a streamer play.

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert caught one pass for nine yards against the Cleveland Browns in Week 7.
                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Eifert was quiet but he can only go up from here. The running game was strong and allowed the Bengals to have more rush attempts than pass attempts in this one, with two long scores (including a hail mary) accounting for Andy Dalton's touchdown passes. Eifert will be worth a look as your TE1 against Washington next week.

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill rushed for 168 yards and one touchdown on nine carries against the Cleveland Browns in Week 7. He also caught two passes for 24 yards during the game.
                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Hill ripped off a long run to get things going for the Bengals early, and his 74-yard touchdown run allowed Cincinnati to pull away from the Browns in the second half. He still has a wide range of weekly outcomes, but at least Hill showed his weekly ceiling - even on limited touches - in this one. Matt Forte will get the Browns run defense next week.

Dalton's totals were inflated by a first-half hail mary. He'll be a high floor streamer against Washington next week.

Cleveland Browns TE Gary Barnidge caught six passes for 66 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7.

Barnidge stayed afloat on a day where the rest of the Browns pass offense was sunk by the injury to Cody Kessler. His fantasy value was been durable as a low TE1 through six different quarterbacks this year.

LA - RB Todd Gurley involved in run, pass game

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley rushed for 57 yards on 15 carries against the New York Giants in Week 7. He also caught six passes for 35 yards during the game.
                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Gurley remains involved enough in the pass offense to stay in solid RB2 territory, and the touchdown upside will be there if the defense and/or passing game improve. The bye week should help reset priorities for the Rams and their troubled offense. It's too late to sell Gurley high, but at least he gets the league-worst 49ers run defense in Week 16.
