Indians prospect Francisco Mejia extends MiLB season-high hit streak to 50 games...
The longest hitting streak in modern minor league baseball history ended on Saturday night.
But...
Then, with the swipe of an official scorer’s eraser and the letters D-O-U-B-L-E being written, it picked up right where it left off.
Cleveland Indians catching prospect Francisco Mejia entered Saturday’s action with a 49-game hitting streak. The streak dates back to May 27. It covers Mejia’s promotion to the Advanced A Lynchburg Hillcats. It even survived a vetoed trade to the Milwaukee Brewers, which would have seen Mejia swapped with three other prospects for Jonathan Lucroy.

Judge is a huge guy he can crush the ball, he is kind of Stanton.

That's a great streak, I want to see that play to see if I think the scorer is giving him charity or not.

Streak ended for real yesterday.
Cleveland Indians prospect Francisco Mejia had his 50-game hit streak snapped after going 0 for 3 with a walk Sunday.

agree
I think Marlins would be foolish to add him to the squad
unless he was willing to mentor the youngsters and be happy with a pinch hit appearance every couple of games

A-Rod has no intentions of playing this year, even with the Marlins playing 10 minutes from his home. He wants to enjoy family life for now, which is understandable.
But would he ditch the Yankee advisory gig to play for someone else next year?

I wouldn't be surprised if he came back with a contender if anyone wanted him, I'm sure he'd like to get to 700 HRs.

Cubs have activated RHP Trevor Cahill to start the first game of today's doubleheader against Milwaukee. As he's the designated 26th player for the twinbill, no corresponding move is necessary.

Brewers bats get 1 run in 18 innings. Lucky to get the one in the final inning.

better hope they don't hit a lull during the playoffs

the only thing that will stop the Cubs this season is if they get some pitching injuries, their starters have been extremely healthy this season so far
