I mean, he only got $11 million more from the 7/$150 he allegedly turned down a while back. Kind of odd.

#151Chris Davis going to be paid forever.
According to ESPN's Buster Olney, Chris Davis' new contract with the Orioles will be paid out over the next 22 years.
Davis will earn $17 million annually between 2016-2022, $3.5 million a year from 2023-2032 and finally $1.4 million a year from 2033-2037. That means Davis will get his last check from the Orioles when he's 51. There won't be any interest on the deferrals. Davis is still getting his $161 million but this setup will help reduce the Orioles' payroll over the next seven years. Contract deferrals are unusual in MLB but not unheard of. For example, Bobby Bonilla retired 15 years ago and is still getting paid by the Mets.Comment -

#154I don't see why they don't want to go longer, I guess they are trying to limit their risk, but they really need a guy like him. They can't count on Wright to regain his old form.Originally posted by Chi_archieJust 2 years?Comment -

A Baltimore restaurant had a bold proclamation for Yoenis Cespedes: "New York's pizza has NOTHING on our crabcakes. Free for life if you sign with the Orioles!

#160Worked out well for the Mets. That was due to financial troubles over the Madoff scandal though. Not sure why Davis couldn't get the O's to pony up the dough. Sounds like his negotiations went terrible.Originally posted by CrossAnother team friendly Bonilla deal, interesting.Comment -

If Upton tried hard every day he would be in the MVP race with the talent he has but he seems lazy, he takes extended periods where he just half-asses playing the game, when he is dialed in and playing hard he is one of the better players in MLB.Comment -

#171The Cincinnati Reds will finally retire #14.
Pete Rose will be inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame in June.
*Two Things:
1) It's about damn time Cincinnati Reds organization!
2) Cooperstown see #1!

Even lost on the trade. He's lazy, thinks he's a superstar, and is a locker room cancer. The exact opposite of Goldy.Originally posted by Chi_archie

In my opinion, there is no question that Pete Rose belongs in The Hall Of Fame...
Please don't get me started on this again...
