Thoughts on baseball I watched today:
Archer pitched well after the 1st
Stroman didn't pitch as well as it looked, decent but not as solid as it might look, Rays lots of swinging at 1st pitch BJ good fielding plays
    Meloncon little rusty but OK
EE swinging great without much spring training
Martin made good contact unlucky with getting no hits
    Wainwright not sharp
    Soria was no good
Harvey not on top of his game yet

Not surprising considering they have same lineup as last year.

The Reds are -168 vs the Phillies. Wow. A lot of love for Igleias I guess.

They will lead the league in runs scored again most likely. Colabello won't repeat his numbers from last year though. Have my doubts about Pillar batting leadoff.

Huge dropoff if any one of Donaldson, Tulo or Martin miss significant time. Tulo a lock to miss time with his injury history.

Interesting to note however that Iglesias was losing when he was taken out!

Luke Gregerson will open the year as the Astros’ closer, manager A.J. Hinch announced and Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports. The 31-year-old will reprise his 9th-inning role of a year ago, beating out recent addition Ken Giles for the job, though certainly the young flamethrower will be knocking at the door if a need arises. For the time being, said Hinch, Giles will “pitch in a couple different roles, depending on what the highest leverage situation of the game would be” — including, perhaps, some save chances. Even the analytically-inclined Astros apparently believe that roles matter, though; as Hinch explained: “for the purposes of getting guys prepared, I think it’s important that they know sort of generally how they’re going to be used.”

Not only is he leaving a pitcher's park but also Chase Field is a great hitter's park.

This guy was great today, I'm looking for a huge year from him.

I'm expecting a break out year for Jake Diekman.

A southpaw that can top off the gun at over 100 MPH.

He was the "other guy" that went to Texas along w/Cole Hamels.

Along with Tolleson closing, the Rangers have a formidable, top notch bullpen...

Walker is such a huge defensive improvement to Murphy, it is night and day.
Trevor Story is this year's Abreu or Bryant the guy is pounding the ball.
Syndergaard is a Cy Young candidate this year, he is now throwing a 95mph slider for strikes, ultra-impressive.

I don't know if I like the rule but I also think what Utley did shouldn't be acceptable.
