Murphy Duda and Wright have been crappy fielders in the WS, and the Mets bats are very quiet. I would have left Harvey in for the 9th so I can't 2nd guess Collins for that but here in the top 12 it looks like this WS is all but over.

Harvey would have started the inning but I would have taken him out after the walk.
Took my 8 year daughter to the game, was really great up until the 9th.

My sentiments exactly! The Royals had a goal and a mission and nothing was going to get in their way...

I would have taken him out after the walk 100%, Harvey loses his steam after 100 pitches to begin with.

I agree with letting him start the ninth. I also agree that he should've been pulled after the lead off walk.

Crasnick: Why Nats picked Baker over Black

Jerry Crasnick explains to SportsCenter why Washington's pursuit of Bud Black fell apart and how it chose Dusty Baker as manager instead: "Comes down to money and length of contract."

Note to Nats... Good Luck with Dusty

                          Dusty Baker named Nationals manager...

I really like Dusty, but I'm not sure anyone can get this under achieving team to play to its potential...

                          Best of Luck, Mr. Baker!

Mets, manager Terry Collins agree to two-year contract extension

By Dayn Perry | Baseball Writer

                            November 3, 2015 4:48 pm ET

Days after falling to the Royals in the World Series, the Mets and manager Terry Collins have agreed to a two-year contract extension. CBS Sports MLB Insider Jon Heyman has confirmed the deal, and the team is expected to make an announcement Wednesday.
Collins, 66, just completed his fifth season and first winning season with the Mets. This year, the Mets won 90 games in the regular season, fended off the heavily favored Nationals for the NL East title and won the pennant. Across those five seasons in Queens, Collins has a record of 394-416 (.486).
Collins previously managed the Angels for parts of three seasons from 1997-99 (220-237, .481) and Astros for three seasons from 1994-96 (224-197, .532). This past season was the first in which a Collins-led team made the playoffs.
After a successful 2015, Terry Collins will be back in the Mets' dugout for another two seasons. (USATSI)

My opinion on that situation has always been the same. The starter gets one baserunner and he's gone.

Beef squashed? Bryce Harper, Papelbon are reportedly 'fine'

By Matt Snyder | Baseball Writer

                                      November 4, 2015 4:01 pm ET

One of the lasting images down the stretch in the disappointment that was the 2015 Washington Nationals' season was closer Jonathan Papelbon and likely NL MVP Bryce Harper scuffling in the dugout.
Surely no baseball fans have forgotten, but how about this image to job your memory?

                                      Still no? OK then ...
Your browser does not support iframes.
Papelbon would eventually be suspended for the remainder of the season (he accepted a suspension for throwing at Manny Machado's head and the Nats took care of the remaining games on the schedule).
With the two still under contract for next season, how are things going to be between them under new skipper Dusty Baker?
According to a Washington Post report, it won't linger:
“Papelbon and Harper are fine together,” one person inside the Natioanls, referring to Harper's phone call. “Harp just wants to win. All he cares about is that we have a 45-save relief pitcher who's going to help us.”
Fights between teammates aren't all too uncommon, it's just that most don't occur in the middle of the dugout on camera. The majority of the time the players move on with their business afterward and that seems to have happened here. Ultimately, though, how the two deal with each other when adversity sets in during the regular season will determine whether or not this is 100 percent true.
One item of note that is touched upon in the Post article is that Baker was once in the dugout when Barry Bonds and Jeff Kent famously sparred. Only he was breaking it up and getting the players to stand down. During the Harper-Papelbon flap, former manager Matt Williams was nowhere to be found and later said he didn't know what had happened.

CC Sabathia on alcohol rehab: 'There was no other option for me'

By Mike Axisa | Baseball Writer

                                                    November 5, 2015 4:49 pm ET

Last month, on the off-day between the end of the regular season and the Wild Card game, CC Sabathia left the Yankees to check into an alcohol treatment center. He would not have been available for the postseason if the Yankees had advanced.
"I love baseball and I love my teammates like brothers," said Sabathia in a statement, "and I am also fully aware that I am leaving at a time when we should all be coming together for one last push toward the World Series. It hurts me deeply to do this now, but I owe it to myself and to my family to get myself right. I want to take control of my disease, and I want to be a better man, father and player."
Sabathia completed his stay at the treatment center last week, and, on Friday morning, he will appear on "Good Morning America" to discuss his decision to leave the Yankees to get treatment. Here's the trailer:
"I understand where, you know, fans would be upset and people would not understand," said Sabathia when asked about leaving before the postseaosn. "If it was my knee or if it was anything else, then people wouldn't have a problem with it. You know, it being alcoholism, it was tough for people to swallow, but it's the same thing."
The Yankees closed the season with a series against the Orioles. Sabathia reportedly drank heavily that weekend, so much so that it spilled over into the clubhouse at one point.
"It was just the time (to get help)," said Sabathia. "Like I said, I know it was a bad time of the season, but I woke up on that Sunday morning in Baltimore and there was no other option for me but to get help."
Sabathia, 35, went 6-10 with a 4.73 ERA this past season. He's been dealing with a degenerative knee condition for a few years now. Next year is the last guaranteed year on his contract.

Mets make 1-year, $15.8M qualifying offer to Daniel Murphy

NEW YORK -- The New York Mets have made a one-year, $15.8 million qualifying offer to free-agent infielder Daniel Murphy.
Murphy, 30, has until Nov. 13 to accept or reject the Mets' offer.

The decision ensures the Mets will recoup a draft pick after the first round if Murphy signs elsewhere this offseason.

Mets officials portray it as very likely that Murphy has played his final game as a Met.

Provided the team offsets the expected loss of free agent Yoenis Cespedes by bringing in a capable offensive outfielder, the Mets are prepared to use prospect Dilson Herrera at second base next season.

Herrera, 21, would join a middle-infield combination with Wilmer Flores and Ruben Tejada.

The Red Sox scouted Park and were considered one of the favorites to land him based on their partnership with his Korean club, the Nexen Heroes. According to reports, the Rangers, A's, Padres, Indians and Orioles are also out of the Park sweepstakes. It shouldn't be long until we find out what team won the bidding.
