The Observer said it was a two-car crash on the Church Street bridge in Charlotte over Interstate 277 at about 12:30 p.m. Eastern time. Mark Becker of WSOC 9 in Charlotte said Newton's truck flipped four times, according to witnesses.
The Observer said the other driver, who was driving a Buick sedan, was also taken to the hospital.

I never knew there was such a thing as a "minor" back fracture, but apparently Cam has two of them. In any event, he is not really "fine" after all, he is Questionable at best for this week.

The injury is very similar to the one Tony Romo suffered on Monday Night Football in Week 8. Romo ended up missing just one game, but was limited in Week 10 before getting a Week 11 bye to heal up. According to the Panthers, it's "unclear" if Newton will be available for Sunday's game against the Bucs. With Newton already having taken a massive beating this season, we wouldn't be surprised to see him shut down. Derek Anderson is Newton's backup.
