Problem with greed is it never stops. Those TV rights they sell for billions to the networks have to be repaid with commercials. So every time a network outbids another one it means the games get longer.

3 timeouts per coach per half. 2 minute warning. Unlimited injury timeouts, even when the injury is fake. Break every time there is a kick off, punt, TD, FG, interception, fumble, etc. That's why a 60 min game takes 3.5 hrs to complete.

If they are going to abolish PAT because they are automatic then they need to abolish 1st and Goal from the 1 yard line because the TD's are automatic.

That is truly hideous analogy. 1st and Goal from the 1 is not automatic. PAT's are converted at over a 99% rate, that's automatic.

the goal posts narrows for pat and widens as the kick gets longer there are no great games when decided by a field goal - make it extremely hard to kick a 20 yard field goal

eventhough its not many, the small handful of PATs missed all season makes the PAT worth keeping IMO...it doesnt happen often but when it does, its a game changer...that feeling you get when your team is all but screwed and the kicker muffs the PAT or it gets blocked makes it all worth it...its like hitting a 1 outter on the river...one time!...the idea that they could miss it is all that matters to me...gives you a glimmer of hope each and everytime...taking away the PAT and just making a TD an automatic 7 points kills that whole feeling...not worth the exchange to me...keep it as it is...

and its these exact moments, however few they are, why the need to keep the PAT IMO...it adds another thrilling component to the game...majority of the time they make it, but the feeling you get the time they dont when your team needs it the most is well worth it...

You're wrong. Chance to score on 1st and goal from the 1 yard for sure is not higher than 90%. If I'm right it is aroud 80-85%. Very different from the 99.1%.

Does this include that game in philly when detroit and the eagles only tried 1 or 2 and didn't make any because of the snow?

Not only that ... but you would have to multiply the difference by 5 times (6 times?) to make up for the difference in point differential. Anyways I think this is a no brainer. Who the penetrate watches or cares about extra points? its a waste of time that if the game was being created now would never be included. You have to move forward... this is nothing like the NHLs ridiculous shootouts which leads to 3 pts being awarded in some games and 2 in others.
