Is it time to drop Matt Cain?
got hooked after 2/3 of an inning,
    giving up 3 runs

personally, I'll wait to see if its a dl stint first,
    but it's worth a discussion

Anything out there on waivers to replace? Can't just drop without some other option.

I would have tried to trade Cain a couple months ago.

Hold on to him. maybe the 10 days off he gets now because of the All-Star break will help him. His velocity is consistent with past seasons and he did have five straight Quality Starts before his last two stinkers. More here: http://www.rotoworld.com/articles/ml...matt-cain-able

they believe matt cain is more hurt than he is letting on...this all star break should hopefully help him rest & rehab a little bit, and maybe at the worst he could hit the DL...but look at what happened to david price, >5.00 ERA before his DL stint, hasnt allowed a run since...I think he is due for a much better second half so I wouldn't just drop cain for nothing, someone in your league will DEFINITELY pick him up

He had to be injured, I'd just hold onto him cause you won't get shit for him now anyway.

He is probably hurt. He will either heal up and turn it around or the injury will force you to drop him. Wait and see.

Bochy said he might pitch this weekend in a relief effort.

I got a slot available, and I'm not quite ready to dump him for a spot starter.

he's not out of the rotation
he only threw 36 pitches, and won't be used till next Friday at the earliest
if he pitches Saturday or Sunday for an inning or two, he's still have 4-5 days rest

I would have no problem dropping him in a 10 team legue. I had the same thought process with Lincecum last year and he ended up costing me.

                                      Dropped him for Wily Peralta.
If you haven't picked him up, I think it is a good oppurtunity for you.
He starts in Colorado this Friday with some cold Rocky bats.
I like him. Good WHIP/ERA in last 3.
Scoop him up if you can.

He looks completely out of sorts. Had him targeted before season but took Kershaw over him.
