On the surface I don't like it because Cano's production at 2B is so rare, but need to know who you have at 1B and 3B now and who you would play at 2B to properly evaluate.

I would replace cano with prado and goldschmidt is at first. He has been trying to get Caniofor a month now abd I jusst cant give him up bc him being in 2nd gives me such good flexibility with prado being able to play 4 positions. I would hate to have tied up at second every game

if you like how your current lineup is set, then dont do it. i would normally say definitely go for this trade as Votto is a top talent, plus castro is a really good fantasy SS, but you already have goldschmidt who is putting up MVP type numbers...i think your team is solid enough as it is, maybe just try to upgrade shortstop elsewhere

you can look at it like this...you could have goldschmidt/cano at 1st/2nd, or votto/prado at 1st/2nd...i like the first combo

I would not do the trade, the slight upgrade at 1B is not worth downgrading Cano to Prado at 2B like dudekid mentioned earlier.

Second Basemen are hard to get.
You could ruin your season with this trade.
Cano has 20 more home runs and 50 rbi's this season

You can accept Brandon Phillips, and thats it.
But you are not getting him anyways.

Cano should be on your untradeable list
