amendola to the pats, welker to the broncos

interesting mix up for next years ffb, especially those in early drafts...how will this play out? welkers numbers shouldnt take a huge hit with peyton throwing to him, but then again with decker and demaryius in the mix who knows? amendola should see a stat bump if he stays healthy, but at what price? he could go as early as the 3rd round, although could end up with WR1 type numbers...what do you guys think?

well, decker wasnt really a slot receiver to begin with, so its not like he is being replaced...but you definitely have to wonder if it will impact him because there are "more mouths to feed" so to speak...i do know for sure that brandon stokely is now next to worthless lol

Well stokely was signed yet, and now won't be. I doubt Welker gets the massive targets like he got in NE. I dount he gets more than 120ish target this year and he already gets the 60 Stokely got and I think he cannibalizes alot of the targets from TEs (who has 143 targets) - so I doubt Deker see a significant drop from his 123 targets last year, maybe 1 or 2 less a game.

All this assumes, of course, that you think Dekker and Thomas are any good, and didn't just have their stats artificially propped up by Manning.

I think all 3 Denver WR's values take a slight hit. Amendola stock goes up a fair amount.

i think that he was going no matter what, the deal for amendola was in the works before welker was gone. Its a bad move for pats IMO

Motivation will not be an issue for Manning or Brady, you don't get to be as good as they are without a very high level of drive and competitiveness.

I like Amendola over Welker. He's younger and getting better every year. Welker is not a go to or at least shouldn't be in clutch situations. He drops too many very catchable balls in huge games.
