Tips on playing Don't Pass Line
So i've only been playing Craps for about 2 years now but it's quickly become the only game I will play in a casino. I love the action. I'm only a Don't Pass player, mostly because i'm a "glass is half empty kinda guy" (or I lost too much money playing Pass in the past )

Over the past year I have been logging all my casino trips, with my win/loss records. I am happy to say that most of my sessions have either been slighty positive ($50 or so up) or breaking even. Which I guess you can say is a positive considering the casino is normally a place where you lose money over time.

My problem is i've yet to really have a session where I end up a big winner. Normally whenever I can double my stack, all it takes is a hot couple of shooters to quickly bring me back down to Earth.

I usually play a $10 table. I'll buy in for $200-300. $10 on the Don't Pass, once the point is established I usually put 2x odds and a Don't Come Bet, followed by another 2x odds bet. If the table is feeling very cold I will sometimes place 2 or even 3 Don't Come bets with the hope on cashing in on at least 2 of them.

If the shooter makes his first point, I stay off him until the dice are passed again. Also, 2 7/11's in a row on the come out and I usually avoid any more bets until the next shooter. I find it's a good method to at the very least, stay at the table longer.

I know playing the Don't Pass is a grind, but anybody have any tips on how I should maybe change up my betting? Is it just a matter of choosing a time when I should bet big, or does grinding it out really pay off in the long run?

scahom, betting the don't pass line and taking (laying) odds is about the best bet you can make in a casino though the same can be said about betting the pass line and taking full odds.

If this is all that you're doing, in the long run, you shouldn't lose much money but you won't make much either.

However, its important you understand that betting the don't pass is almost identical in odds to betting the pass line (due to the bar on the 12).

The problem with betting the don't pass line is you run into people who don't want to be anywhere near you and the whole purpose of casino gambling is to have fun and entertain yourself (I sure hope you don't think you can actually make long-term money shooting craps).

Of course I don't think Don't Pass is an easy way to beat the casino, because such a way does not exist. I was just asking other people who normally play the Don't Pass what their betting methods were.

I use to only bet the don't pass but I found out that betting the donts on the come out has worst odds than the pass so I now only lay the established point which I have to pay for but the odds are on my side. Mostly I lay on da 10 or 4 only!

if youre going to play dont pass, once the point is established youve already dodged the bullet. foolish to not go 5x or max odds at that point because after the come out, odds are on your side
