Martingale would be a profitable strategy if the following conditions were met: You and the casino have an infinite bankroll, the casino has no betting limits, you got to choose when to stop playing. This is the real world however so the system is completely flawed and will fail.

There is no system to "beat roulette" unless as was already indicated the wheel is biased. Most casinos monitor this. If by chance you found a wheel that was biased and the casino did not know about it there is little chance you could make much from it as almost every modern casino is aware of bias in roulette wheels and would act accordingly to stop you from wagering even if they did not actively monitor the wheel as your bets would be triggered as an anomaly.

The only hope in hell you have of making any money is playing at a european table (2.70% vs. 5.26% American) and running on the good side of variance. If you managed this stop playing forever while ahead and count yourself lucky.

Wheel Biases arent much of a factor in roulette any more as Casino's regularly interchange wheels between tables making it near impossible to find bias

Best way to play the online game is to
be willing to play any thing on the bord.
I play what is due to hit. Let's say you have
6 odds in a row time to bet even or the
1st 12 has not hit in 5-6 spins. Play that ect.
I have hound if you switch it up and play all over
the bord you avoid the runs of 16 out 20 hitting red ect.

You must know when to stop or you will give
              it all back.

You can win some cash though.

Bet on the 4 corners(11:1) and cover the board on at least 3 different spots. I usually have a chip on odd/even or red/black as well to balance it out. Don't get greedy, and if you win 30 on a roll, don't use the mentality that "oh its free, might as well bet it all to win 300!". Because that's how you end up losing ALL your chips, lol..

the only thing I know is compiling enormous amounts of data on the wheels and finding ones that are skewed. Apparently they can become profitably broken, or so I've heard.

You may be able to win in the long term if you have some kind of freak mutant ability like Jean Grey. If not then take your money while you're up

With a level playing field there is no way a player can beat the house long-term.

It is THE big winner for casinos profits.

                          1. Play American roulette not European Roulette.
                          2. Bet the maximum money on the 2 out of 3 slots. You have a 66% chance to win. If you win, leave the casino with money. If you lose, you lose. The odds are on your side on this one play.
                          3. You cannot play and win in the long term unless there is no bet limit. No casino is stupid enough to do this.

Play for 1 minute and your done, lol.

There is one and only one way to win at roulette on a consistent long-term basis.

You have to be the one accepting bets as opposed to placing them.

I was under the impression that you cannot have a system or predict anything as random as roulette.
                                      but i've been wrong before.

The only proven ways to beat roulette are Wheel bias, Dealer Signature, Visual Ballistics, and Roulette Computers. I have seen most of the commercially sold baccarat and roulette systems on the internet and they all lose in the long run.

When you land in Vegas get off the plane and walk directly into the propeller. That's the only way you won't lose a dime playing roulette. 'Nuff said.

If ball lands on red, bet red, and keep doubling your initial bet until you win. Then start over.

American roulette (with a zero and double zero) is a negative expectation game (house edge of over 5%) that can only be beat if you can find a wheel bias or dealer bias (or if you cheat). Systems will work some of the time, but I find it hard to believe that any system can work all of the time.

That said though, it's a great game that's lots of fun to play in the casinos. Just be sure to get your play rated and don't be shy asking the floor supervisor what kind of action they expect in order to comp. I find asking this question rather than asking directly for a comp has much more success.
