#177Actually my bad, think he was joking and it's not mark that kicked that pad it's someone else he trains with by the look of the comments.
Sorry guys. He's been playing golf today, looks pretty slim and in shape though.Comment -

#179One thing that may help Leslie smith and bec Rawlings to victory against their opponents this weekend is the simple elbow. Heard a commentator remark that elbows are illegal in MMA in Asia so they don't use them nor expect it.Comment -

42 years old, his cardio is gonna be for crap and I'd bet on that.. Mir is no cardio machine either but he should have a better tank then Hunt..
These guys look like best friends.. Did anyone tell them they will be fighting each other this weekend? Lol.

#181All 3 are outmatched everywhere the fight goes, bosse may have a chance if te huna decides to stand with him, but I have te huna taking him down pounding him out in the first for 0.33 of a uni on a first round prop., the other 2 have no chance, have 3 unit parlay involving junior, and a 4 unit parlay involving jouban..also played junior by ko, but he could also sub kelly. And I'd be shocked if oreilly made it out the first, Jouban is free money..... you can stab at the bum bosse if you want, since te huna is off a long layoff and didn't look good his last fight, but dont waste your money on kelly or oreilly.Comment -

#182Also for added value, if you decide to stab at bosse, just play the 1st and 2nd round finishes, I doubt this fight makes the 3rd round. Boose is a brawler, so he either gets kod early or he KO's te huna early.Comment -

#183Ok the waiting is over and it's time to start capping the prelims.. Write ups coming out now.. I'll post and cap as I go and add my touches to the write ups..
Prelims part 1 - MMAmania. I like this guys write ups on the prelim fights.
<small>UFC Fight Night 85 - Lightweight 3 rounds - Brisbane Entertainment Centre - Brisbane, Australia - UFC Fight Pass</small> Sat 3/19 2001 Chad Laprise <input id="editx" name="M1_10" size="4"> -120 <input id="editx" name="L1_10" size="4"> o2½ -240 7:30PM 2002 Ross Pearson <input id="editx" name="M2_10" size="4"> +100 <input id="editx" name="L2_10" size="4"> u2½ +200
170 lbs.: Ross Pearson vs. Chad Laprise
Ross Pearson (18-10) http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Ross-Pearson-11884 has alternated losses and wins in his last seven fights, although the first loss was a horrific robbery against Diego Sanchez. His last two efforts have seen him upset Paul Felder in Vegas and drop a decision to Francisco Trinaldo in Boston.
He has knocked out seven opponents and submitted another five.
Chad Laprise (10-1)http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Chad-Laprise-69681 smashed his way through The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Nations," taking home "Fight of the Season" and one of the two "Performances of the Season" before ultimately beating Olivier Aubin-Mercier to win the show. Decision wins over Yosdenis Cedeno and Bryan Barberena followed before "The Disciple" ran afoul of Francisco Trinaldo, who dropped and choked him out in the first round.
He stands two inches taller than Pearson at 5’10."
Laprise has demonstrated solid hands and decent wrestling, but Pearson is a huge step up when it comes to striking. The Canadian doesn’t have the power of Al Iaquinta, the overpowering grappling of Evan Dunham, or the raw strength of Trinaldo. He’s almost certainly going to wind up boxing with Pearson, a recipe for disaster.
The Brit, inconsistent as he is, remains one of the division’s best counter-punchers. Expect him to tag Laprise with increasing success as the fight progresses for either a late technical knockout finish or unanimous decision.
Prediction: Pearson by third-round technical knockout
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
145 lbs.: Daniel Hooker vs. Mark Eddiva<small>UFC Fight Night 85 - Featherweight 3 rounds - Brisbane Entertainment Centre - Brisbane, Australia - UFC Fight Pass</small> Sat 3/19 1701 Mark Eddiva <input id="editx" name="M1_7" size="4"> +170 <input id="editx" name="L1_7" size="4"> o2½ -140 9:00PM 1702 Daniel Hooker <input id="editx" name="M2_7" size="4"> -200 <input id="editx" name="L2_7" size="4"> u2½ +120
Daniel Hooker (12-6)http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Daniel-Hooker-45122 made an immediate impression on UFC fans with a brutal mauling of Ian Entwistle in his promotional debut, extending his win streak to six. He’s since gone 1-2, an upset knockout of Hatsu Hioki sandwiched between losses to Maximo Blanco and Yair Rodriguez.
He has earned stoppages in each of his last seven victories.
Team Lakay’s Mark Eddiva (6-2)http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Mark-Eddiva-75370 surprised many in his Octagon debut by dominating Chinese standout Jumabiekke Tuerxun in Macau. He’s since fallen on rather hard times, losing an epic slugfest with Brazil’s "Kevin" Souza and a grinding decision to Levan Makashvili.
He will give up four inches of height to the 6’0" Hooker.
This honestly might wind up being a lot closer than the currently-lopsided odds would suggest. Hooker is phenomenally tough, sure, but isn’t outstanding in any area of the game outside of power and sheer durability. Eddiva packs some solid striking and decent takedown defense -- he has a very real shot at the upset if he can keep it standing.
Still, Hooker’s got grit for days and is the more well-rounded combatant.
The Kiwi has some power and has proven fairly destructive from top position, not to mention his pressure and volume. I expect him to outwork Eddiva from the clinch and on the mat to take a competitive decision.
Prediction: Hooker by unanimous decision
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
135 lbs.: Leslie Smith vs. Rin Nakai<small>
UFC Fight Night 85 - Bantamweight 3 rounds - Brisbane Entertainment Centre - Brisbane, Australia - UFC Fight Pass</small>Sat 3/19 2101 Leslie Smith <input id="editx" name="M1_11" size="4"> -160 <input id="editx" name="L1_11" size="4"> o2½ -200 7:00PM 2102 Rin Nakai <input id="editx" name="M2_11" size="4"> +140 <input id="editx" name="L2_11" size="4"> u2½ +170
Leslie Smith (7-6-1) http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Leslie-Smith-46542 entered UFC in the midst of a 1-3 stretch, but quickly proved her worth by battering Jessamyn Duke into submission midway through the first round of their July 2014 showdown. Jessica Eye proved a more difficult test, as "Evil" Eye burst Smith’s cauliflower ear to force a stoppage.
She stands a staggering eight inches taller than Rin Nakai (16-1-1)http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Rin-Nakai-18887 at 5’9."
Japan’s Nakai ruled the roost in Pancrase before making her UFC debut against Miesha Tate in Sept. 2014. Nakai struggled with "Cupcake’s" stout takedown defense and superior striking en route to her first-ever professional defeat.
This will be her first fight since.
Smith is dangerous, but only if her opponent obliges her. If you stand in front of her and try to go blow-for-blow, her volume and power will win out. If, on the other hand, you keep moving, she doesn’t have the speed or ring-cutting to force you into her fight.
Nakai may have some pretty awful striking, but she’s in constant motion and relentless with her takedowns, which are generally successful when attempted against someone without Miesha Tate’s wrestling prowess. Smith fits that bill, so expect Nakai to grind her way to her first UFC victory.
Prediction: Nakai by unanimous decision.... Jibby doesn not like this pick or predicition!!!

<small>UFC Fight Night 85 - Lightweight 3 rounds - Brisbane Entertainment Centre - Brisbane, Australia - FS1</small> Sat 3/19 1901 Alan Patrick <input id="editx" name="M1_9" size="4"> -250 <input id="editx" name="L1_9" size="4"> o2½ -140 8:00PM 1902 Damien Brown <input id="editx" name="M2_9" size="4"> +210 <input id="editx" name="L2_9" size="4"> u2½ +120
155 lbs.: Alan Patrick vs. Damien Brown
Alan Patrick (12-1) opened his UFC career with a one-round drubbing of Garett Whiteley, then followed that up with a controversial decision over John Makdessi. A busted jaw kept him out of action for 16 months, after which he fell to Mairbek Taisumov in Berlin.
He has stopped six opponents, four via knockout.
Damien Brown (15-8)http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Damien-Brown-62243 enters UFC as the XFC Lightweight Champion, a title he first defended one month ago. The Aussie has won five straight, four via stoppage, since 2014.
He replaces the transplanted Chad Laprise on a week's notice.
Brown doesn't seem like a bad fighter; he kicks well from the outside and has some decent punches in the pocket. The thing is, his recent competition has been garbage and he hasn't shown any outstanding skill he can lean on against Patrick.
The Brazilian's overall technique is rather lacking and I'm not sure he actually has a standout skill either, but he's big, awkward, and decently well-rounded. He's someone I could sum up as a "handful," just a disruptive and unpleasant person to fight against. Brown fought a debuting fighter three fights ago. To go from that to Patrick, especially on a week's notice, is too much. Patrick mixes up volume on the feet with a steady diet of takedowns for the decision win.
Prediction: Patrick via unanimous decision
MMA MANIA part 2-
FINISHING UP THE PRELIMS
170 lbs.: Brendan O’Reilly vs. Alan Jouban<small>UFC Fight Night 85 - Welterweight 3 rounds - Brisbane Entertainment Centre - Brisbane, Australia - FS1</small> Sat 3/19 1601 Brendan O'Reilly <input id="radiox" value="M1_6" name="radiox" type="radio">+385 <input id="radiox" value="L1_6" name="radiox" type="radio">o1½ +100 9:30PM 1602 Alan Jouban <input id="radiox" value="M2_6" name="radiox" type="radio">-485 <input id="radiox" value="L2_6" name="radiox" type="radio">u1½ -120
Brendan O'Reilly (6-1) fell to Kajan Johnson in the opening round of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Nations," then suffered a decision loss to Ultimate Fighter: China winner Lipeng Zhang in his Octagon debut. Last May, he squared off with Vik Grujic and ultimately took home a unanimous decision over his former castmate.
This will be his first fight in 10 months.
Alan Jouban (12-4) http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Alan-Jouban-65878 demolished Seth Baczynski in a "Fight of the Night"-winning performance in his Octagon debut, but found his momentum halted by a controversial decision loss to Warlley Alves next time out. Tremendous performances against Richard Walsh and Matt Dwyer, the latter of which earned "Brahma" another "Fight of the Night," put him in line to face Albert Tumenov, who handed Jouban his first-ever knockout loss.
He has knocked out eight professional opponents and stands four inches taller than O’Reilly at 6’0."
Unless the Tumenov knockout completely broke Jouban, which it was certainly brutal enough to do, this should be a fairly easy win for "Brahma." He has O’Reilly outclassed on the feet and the idea of the Aussie grinding his way to a decision seems unlikely, especially considering the damage Jouban can do in the clinch.
Jouban has pretty much every conceivable edge here. Expect a violent knockout sometime in the early going.
Prediction: Jouban via first-round knockout
170 lbs.: Richard Walsh vs. Viscardi Andrade<small>UFC Fight Night 85 - Welterweight 3 rounds - Brisbane Entertainment Centre - Brisbane, Australia - FS1</small> Sat 3/19 1801 Richard Walsh <input id="radiox" value="M1_8" name="radiox" type="radio">-110 <input id="radiox" value="L1_8" name="radiox" type="radio">o2½ -150 8:30PM 1802 Viscardi Andrade <input id="radiox" value="M2_8" name="radiox" type="radio">-110 <input id="radiox" value="L2_8" name="radiox" type="radio">u2½ +130
Richard Walsh's (9-3) http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Richa...split-decision loss to Kiichi Kunimoto was certainly controversial, although there could be no arguing his knockout defeat to Alan Jouban two Februaries ago. Luckily, the Aussie managed to right the ship and please local fans with a decisive win over Steve Kennedy in Melbourne in Nov. 2015.
"Filthy Rich" has scored knockouts in four of his nine victories.
Viscardi Andrade (18-6) reached the semifinals of TUF: "Brazil 2" before falling to William Macario, then earned a measure of redemption by blowing out Bristol Marunde in his UFC debut. He dropped a decision to Nico Musoke next time out and suffered a serious leg injury in training, but successfully returned after nearly two years away to defeat Gasan Umalatov in Nov. 2015.
Six of his 11 finishes have come via submission.
Andrade has a booming right hand and some decent grappling, but lacks quality wrestling and can be fairly inactive on the feet. Not a great set of issue stop have against the likes of Walsh, who is not only quite strong but can dish out quite a bit of punishment both at range and on the inside. Plus, he’s likely durable enough to take the few shots Andrade unleashes.
Though Walsh did fade late against Kennedy, Andrade doesn’t have a terribly exhausting style to deal with. Unless the Brazilian can catch Walsh early, "Filthy Rich" ought to outwork him in the clinch for a unanimous decision.
Prediction: Walsh via unanimous decisionComment -

#184^^ Again becareful with this writers predictions.. I just like the short reads and info myself.. Part of my capping process.. I'm going with Jouban via KO when that prop comes out, Walsh I'm still working on..
This MMA mania writers record for 2016 below... He's batting around .500 ball even though his predictions are in the way the fighter actually wins the fights.. Not horrible considering all his predictions are mostly gonna be at plus odds..
Current UFC "Prelims" Prediction Record 2016: 25-26-1
*I personally have done better then this guy just for the record in 2016, so I don't tail him but he is one of the better writers and predictors out there... Then again I hedge to win fights alot so I can't exactly compare my picks to his on a win to lose basis......Comment -

#185Yeah sorry about that mate, can't believe I didn't realise until I posted it lol!
Doesn't even look like Mark hunt after reviewing it again!
Top info there guys, thanks for it. Suppose in the end it's like holly holm says, every fight is 50/50 after that door closes. We can assess their skills and get as close to possible as predicting but none of us would ever place our houses on a line, MMA has huge upsets every year so it's still down to many individual factors even we can't even be aware of. Like I picked rockhold over Weidman mainly too because he had a new baby and little kids under 5 and Luke had zero responsibilities. Any ordinary father is going to struggle to train MMA and still be a husband and father to 3 little ones that age and with a new baby, sleep wasn't a guarantee. I seen the hunger in Luke and the obsession he could afford to have that Chris couldn't make time for.
Had I known Luke had staph weeks earlier and was on antibiotics I wouldn't have even picked him so...
There's factors we aren't even aware of in most fights. Appreciate both of your input and opinions as they're both definitely top notch, can tell that in everything you both said. You pair certainly know your stuff and look forward to reading more and learning from you both.

#186The waiting really sucks between events especially when there is a long 2 week wait or more between UFC events, much like this one!!!
Don't understand why Zuffa and Dana White can't up the business sense and man power to plan more UFC events? When you miss a weekend of UFC events you miss out on money being made and growing the sport as far as I'm concerned.... Fighters wanna fight more and get paid, you can employ more fighters with more events, fans would want that, and it would be great for fighter exposure as well....
You have NFL every weekend right why not UFC MMA?. UFC needs to step up their game!! As big business like Zuffa is it's really mind boggling to me that they can't fill up the calendar for every weekend in advance...
I suppose that would only hurt lessor organizations like Bellator and WSOF though if the UFC were taking up every Saturday night time slot. Then again the lessor organizations could time slot for Friday nights instead though...

I still like to play those full 12 team UFC card parlays for 5 bucks with every card.. Yet to hit one this year but that's my lotto ticket and I typically come very close or hit one every year.. All you need to do is get down to the last couple plays on one of those parlays and then ya can start hedging and even max betting the other way and still win decent money regardless.
Poorlays do typically lose though...Comment -
