According to Hendricks' manager Ted Ehrhardt, Hendricks suffered a blockage in his intestine last night while cutting weight, as well as a kidney stone. He was rushed to the emergency room and had to be given an IV.

Tryon Woodley is the big loser in this.. Poor guy.. Doubt they can get a fill in fighter on this short of notice either..

woodley would be making a mistake even taking a short notice fight. He should just be the next contender, he makes a very good point;

"And I shouldn't have to fight anyone else, do anything else spectacular ... nothing . I should be next for the title shot now. It's called professional mixed martial arts for a reason. There should be some level of professionalism involved."

Any fighter that gets out of a fight while cutting weight and just one day before the fight should lose his purse and get the L on his record.. It's one thing not making weight but it's another when your just out IMO...

That's just crazy, your cutting weight and out of the fight just like that... Hendricks did always have trouble cutting weight, figures he'd have another issue with his weight..

Or we'll just be seeing extremely drained and sick looking fighters fighting in the cage.. I don't think they can enforce that rule.. Fighters can easily get around it..

IV drips are massive for the rehydrating after weight cuts though.. Night and day.. That coconut water drink crap isn't gonna do the trick in just 24 hours on it's own.

It's such a HUGE difference..

My take is they can't watch the fighters 24/7 after the weigh ins up until fight time.. Impossible... Fighters can find a time to sneak a small IV or just wait til bed time when no one is looking.. Put it in your ass like Steroids to avoid track marks..... Maybe I'm missing something but this IV ban is a joke..

Eliminate weight classes, or have a weight class window, they should be fighting at there respected normal weight anyways
