The hard part is getting 1 confirmation which is when the transaction is placed in a block to be added to the chain. Once that happens you just need 5 other nodes confirm that transaction which doesn't take long after the 1st confirmation. Once you have 1, I'd say 20-30 minutes you'll have 6.Comment -

If you are using a wallet that allows manual fee setting, check the optimal fee at http://bitcoinfees.21.co/ before sending.
If you check your transaction and look for the fee per byte used you can compare it that site above and get an extimate on the current delay for that fee level..Comment -

Just to throw my 2 cents in, I hate waiting for conformations, and since I started always using priority rates and higher fees (they're usually only $3 or $4 compared to $.50 or $1), I've never had to wait over 45 minutes in my last 10 transactions. Even had one the other day during heavy trading and got my conformations in less than 30 minutes using priority rates.Comment -
I finally got the 6 confirmations late last night. It turned out to be an advantage for me , this long delay, because I wanted to bet the Patriots and the line went from -9 to -7 NE,
The long wait for 6 confirmations paid off
