    Anyone ever think of chasing great pitchers?
    I remember a thread a couple years back where someone took the top pitchers and chased them throughout the season. Can't remember how he did, but the idea seemed pretty profitable.

    Obviously there would be certain conditions that have to be met to make it a play... But as we look at guys like Weaver, Price, Stasburg, Cain, CC, etc. Would you not think to yourself that it would be worth chasing them with small amounts to make a profit later in the season? Just curious as to what people would think about this.

    as long as you didnt chase cliff lee and his 2 wins this year you might be ok

      Interesting thought. I'd think the one most 'chaseable' guy this year would have been Verlander considering he had around 25 wins last year, I'm not sure it wouldve been profitable this year though.

          The problem you run into is the high juice. I would guess Verlander, Weaver, and perhaps others have been -200+ for each of their starts. Heck, even King Felix has had high juice with that crappy team (regardless of their recent winning streak). And, as someone else mentioned earlier, Cliff Lee had a terrible start this year; chasing him this year would've ended your season early.
