#566Yeah. It's because they have no clue about line setting for these and don't want to get raped IMO. That's really why I love playing these because in general, they over value the top teams so if you can find an underdog with comparable players that might be pitching one of their best - you can get a great price on many of them.Comment -

#568Big Ten: Nebraska -105
Cornhuskers spot the top scoring offense in the Big 10 and come in off an 11-2 crush job over Michigan yesterday. Ohio State will have the slight pitching edge with Brad Golberg going today. Golberg did get hit for four runs in 4.2 IP in the regular season against Nebraska. Aaron Bummer will pitch for the Huskers, a repeat of that match-up in the regular season. He limited OSU to an unearned run in 5 IP. The Buckeyes won 2 of 3 however, but the two losses were both late inning blowjobs. The Buckeyes simply cannot match the mash ability of Nebraska who scored 82 more runs in the regular season and ranked Top 10 in D1 with 47 home runs. The key is Bummer. He's split time between the pen and starting. He pitched very well once he was inserted into the rotation and he needs to go deep because the bullpen is weaker for Nebraska. OSU has a solid pen.

#572Tx Tech line has gone bananas.
LSU-Arkansas .. would not back LSU. Nola v. Stanek. Stud v. Stud. Hogs won behind Stanek 8-3 earlier in the season. Nola backed LSU to a 6-2 in in that same series. These are the ones where when 5Dimes puts up spreads for Super Regionals or World Series, you'd take the + whatever for Arkansas in anticipation of a tight game.Comment -

#574Just taking a couple caluclated risks tonight on prices that have run well far off and turned hot teams into big dogs where I think the fair chances of a win for the underdogs are not reflected by the current price. Short notes on each, but did not have a ton of time to write up here at the end of the day. Risking 0.5 unit on each.
Big 12: Kansas +240
All three games in the regular season against W.Virginia were decided by a run. Dierdorff starts for WVU and is hittable. Not sure of the KU starter. Likely not their best, Thomas Taylor or the price would be different. Still, these teams are evenly matched.
ACC: Virginia Tech +315
Price drifts here because the Hokies are going with Markey and not Devin Burke who is a top notch pitcher. Markey did pitch arguably his best game against FSU, a CG where he scattered 11 hits and gave up two runs. FSU loses #5 hitter Brizuela who got sent packing for violating team rules. Could leave a hole in the lineup. FSU starter Luke Weaver has been awesome with a 2.08 ERA, but the Hokies' bats are hot and have pounded some of the best. If Tech can get a serviceable start from Markey that has them in the game in the middle innings, this rates a shot.Comment -

#575Well the afternoon was painful. Two one run losses by Tech & Nebraska. Nebraska especially painful after they rallied to tie in the 9th and then walked in the winner in the bottom of the 9th. Thems the breaks. Hoping one of these dogs is going to get it done this evening.
Will try to look ahead to tomorrow, but not sure how much I will post. Road trip tomorrow, so in the car most of the day. Will try to get a look at lines when they post in the morning if possible and post anything if I can. If not, good luck!Comment -

#576Big 12: TCU -105
Brutally good pitching match-up with Preston Morrison and his 1.22 ERA going against Jason Hursh and his 2.78 ERA. Morrison has been sensational all year and limited OSU to eight hits and zero runs in a 2-0 win for TCU. The Frogs won 2 of 3 at home against Oklahoma State. Hursh was solid in that one, allowing just two runs in 7 IP. The problem is that TCU brings in the worst offense in the Big 12, so even two runs can beat this team - but they did progress late in the season. The Cowboys rank 2nd in runs scored with 310 and 2nd in team BA at .289. They only mustered six runs in that series with TCU, but generally have been able to scratch out 4-5 runs per game. TCU found some offense down the stretch with 39 runs in their last six, but two shut outs including in there and one 16 run outburst. They seem to be riding momentum though with wins in 13 of their last 19. Morrison is going to have to be near perfect I think for the Frogs to sneak out a low scoring win, but I'm not betting against that with extra motivation for him from flopping in the postseason last year. I'm a TCU alum, a little bit of a homer pick - but I think the Frogs can sneak one out.

#577Dogs barking loud tonight. A big thanks to the people who ran up the favorites lines today. Arkansas up 4-1 in the 9th over LSU. They were up up over +300 at one point. KU winning in the 9th 6-1. Va.Tech up 2-0 in the 8th. Now you see why 5Dimes limits plays on these.

#582Morrison has turned into quite the postseason choke artist. Another subpar performance. Doesn't even go 4 IP and gets tagged for four runs. TCU has been given plenty of help to try and get into the game with walks and errors, but can't get it going.
Quick notes for tomorrow from what I looked over. Va.Tech ML if Devin Burke starts. OU ML if Dillon Overton starts. Prices would probably dictate using them in a parlay. Interested to see the price. Miami vs. NC State. Wolfpack saving Rondon, so they go with a freshman Jernigan who has been good, but is wild and walks quite a few. Miami puts out Diaz, the lefty who has shut down some of the best offenses in the ACC.
Will be looking. OU-Texas Tech is early, I think 10am ET. Others are in the afternoon some time.Comment -

May 25th
Memphis +150
Everything is about even here in term of offense, but Memphis puts C-USA pitcher of the year Schoenrock out today. I give them a slight edge there. He can be dominant and with neither offense overly explosive that could make a difference if Memphis scratches some runs out early.

#594Quick list of the Regional Participants. Should have some short write-ups for Futures purposes tomorrow or Thursday.
A quick note or two:
Don't discount the #4 seeds. Fours may not always win a Regional, but expect 2-4 of them to be involved in Regional Finals. Stony Brook shocked LSU last year from the #4 spot. Think of the #4s like a double digit seed making it to the Sweet 16 in hoops. The formula usually seems to be a team that can flat out hit and has at least one stud starter along with a host #1 seed that has offensive deficiencies and/or mediocre starting pitching that will strain the bullpen over the course of 3-4 days.
Don't overlook the #1s either. Traditionally, #1s win 60% or better of the Regionals. There are 16, so you can count on the #1s likely winning at least 10 of those, but that does provide some good value on the #2s and #3s that can compete as far as winning the Regionals/Futures prices.
If you're looking for #2s or #3s to win the Region, look at the #1s hosting for the 1st time or ones with a deficiency in one of the key areas: pitching or hitting along with some experience by the #2s or #3s. I highlighted a couple in red that fit into that mold IMO.

#595Finalizing write-ups. Will post early tomorrow ahead of first games. Heads up that Betonline also has MLs up for the Regionals. No totals or spreads like 5Dimes, but could help price shopping. Unfortunately though it looks like no parlays allowed at Betonline for those, but that's the only other book I have seen that is posting these lines.Comment
