LAFAYETTE REGIONAL: Mississippi State +175
I think I called this the Starkville Regional once, perhaps knowing this is the end game. Listen, Lafayette has killed the ball after shocking opening game defeat. 30-6 at home. Killed State last night, 14-8. Somehow part of me likes this set up though. Lafayette is out of starting options, so they start usual bullpen backbone Ryan Wilson. Seen plenty of these guys do great - but if the Bulldogs can get to him early, that changes everything.
Miss State sets up with lefty Laster to go as long as he can and then it is liquid smoke time with Jacob Lindgren. He has video game K numbers and thrives in this sort of role. Preston Brown is also available, I believe and shutdown closer Holder surely can toss a few innings even after going 5 IP on Saturday. The key is frustrating these Cajun bats early and not looking at a big deficit. State has experience and I think it can help tonight. Worth a shot.Comment -

Trying to find relevant pitching info. So far, looks like Oregon State will either go with Dylan Davis or Jake Thompson - but cannot find much on who Irvine might start. I think Manarino makes sense from what they have left .... but need to confirm. I am guessing Davis and then they latch into the bullpen like they have in the five games he started. I am probably going to pass. Irvine +2.5 looks most tempting to me just because OSU does not have any of their best guys in tow tonight. Davis will probably do okay when he pitches, but the other pieces left could be vulnerable. If it's Manarino, he's very hittable for UCI - but OSU has stumbled against lefties a time or two.Comment -

Hopefully Irvine keeps right where they are at - I think Oregon State is probably going to squeak by here, but getting late, Irvine is going to be confident. Would be a monster upset and maybe a fitting end to an upset laiden Regionals if OSU lost ... and as I type, the Anteaters are threatening.
Will be starting a new thread for the Super Regionals/CWS. Did not fare all that great for the Regionals, definitely down some units. Supers and CWS though are a bit easier IMO .... you've got the pitching set-up ahead of time where you don't have to scramble to find out who is going to fill in like late in the Regionals. Best of 3 ... you're going to see the weekend rotation for most of these teams unless they have to play long games or blow outs where they might burn through pitchers.
