Unbelievable, Sam wiggles out of it with a shallow fly ball and K.

Looks like I chose wrong between Irvine +1.5 and the under. Meh.

Sam Houston had a runner thrown out at home to end the 13th. 2-2 still

Going to try to be more selective today and tomorrow. Think I overextended a little the 1st two days - although bad luck really followed me o Saturday with late extra innings losses and of course, the infamous Alabama meltdown in the 9th to blow the under. Looking over info for a play to start here in 40 minutes .... posting soon. Fade it. Follow it. Who cares. Enjoy the games, this time of year is great. Still pissed 5Dimes bailed on futures. Hopefully they will have them for the Supers next weekend.

GAINESVILLE REGIONAL: Long Beach State-N.Carolina Over 6.5 [-120]
Elimination game, so accumes Johnny "Wholestaff" as far as pitching goes after the scheduled starters. Coaches will likely be quick to pull struggling guys in an attempt to limit damage. Long Beach will start Nick Sabo. UNC goes with Zac Gallen. Sabo is solid with a 3.08 ERA/.236 BAA. Gallen has a 4.43 ERA/.289 BAA. Benton Moss could feasibly pitch again today after three innings of work yesterday before the rain delay, although I would expect UNC would like to save him to contribute to a Monday Championship Game. Long Beach will like seeing the hittable Gallen on the mound as they can struggle for runs at-times. The Dirtbags scored six against Carolina in the opener and three yesterday in a loss to Charleston. UNC has scored six runs in the Regionals, just one against LB in the opener, but responded with five against a good Gators' pitching staff yesterday. They have been a little inconsistent at-times too, but have shown the ability to put up runs against the best pitchers the ACC had to offer. 12 of their last 14 have seen at least seven runs. Both teams have good bullpen pieces to fill the gaps today, but at 6.5 .. this seems a good try on the over even if it just scrapes by late.

FORT WORTH REGIONAL: Siena +4.5 [-115]
Sam Houston State will have the pitching edge. I expect they will start freshman Sam Odom who was their ERA leader in their rotation at 2.57 ERA with a .213 BAA. Siena goes with Goossens who had a lofty 5.83 ERA/.337 BAA. He was solid down the stretch though with a 2.65 ERA over this last three starts. Sam Houston definitely has more vesatility and depth in its pitching staff, but that will be tested following their 22 inning loss to TCU. On top of that, there has to be some drained emotion for the Bearkats after losing that game. Their bats have been quieted by good pitching, so it will be interesting to see if they can hit what will be the worst pitching they have seen in this Regional. Siena should be riding momentum after they rallied against Dallas Baptist - especially falling behind big and doing it in extras. They likely will not win, but with some fatigue playing for Sam Houston - I think Siena can cover this larger spread.

                            CORVALLIS REGIONAL: Oregon State -200
The revenge factor should be high in this one for the Beavers who were embarrassed by UC-Irvine yesterday. Their offense got a bit untracked in today's first elimination game against UNLV, scoring six runs. Irvine is putting their Sunday starter Evan Brock on the mound. He was mostly solid with a 3.04 ERA/.270 BAA. He gives up a lot of hits, so the honus is on the Beavers to produce with RISP. With their three aces used up, OSU will put bullpen stud Scott Schultz on the mound first. You can expect their other two key pen options, Jackson & Thompson to be next in line. Schultz was great in his duty, limiting opponents to a .186 BAA/1.33 ERA. Their usual closer, they'll hope to get as many innings as they can and we've seen closers pitch 5-6 innings before in this sort of setting. I think the -1.5 line is okay too, but given the close nature and the stress of another elimination spot - I'll pay extra to just worry about a W of any sort.

Schultz was awesome. Going to the 9th with a shutout and he's gone the distance. I believe there are going to be six rematches on Monday, so some good action ... will be looking over lines in the morning and working my pissy results up from the last couple days. Hoping to make Monday a good day to finish the weekend.

                                TALLAHASSEE REGIONAL: Alabama-Kennesaw State Over 7.5 [-146]
A little juicy, but runs should be in order. Bama turns to reliever Shaw to start. He has a 3.68 ERA/.248 BAA. It is his 1st career start in three years with the Tide. Kennesaw State turns back to Hilyer who was crushed by Ga.Southern thanks to his own walk issues. He did not last an inning in that game that went 13-5 for Kennesaw in extras. He has a 3.64 ETA/.262 BAA. He gives up about a hit per inning. Bama will have chances and their offense has scored 16 in the last three games of this Regional since being shutout. Kennesaw is the wildcard. Their offense is too solid to be held down again, but they need a quick start for confidence. Both teams have good pens that will be ready, but my feel is the starters will yield some runs today and find this going over.

Pitching here should slightly favor the Rebels. The lefty Trent goes for Miss. Solid numbers at 2.57 ERA/.239 BAA. Washington had trouble with lefties some, Fry & Wetzler of Oregon State really clamped down on them. Brigham for UW. Good eighty at 2.93 ERA/.248 BAA. He has some bad starts this year though against good hitting teams. Ole Miss is that, hitting over .300. Could be tight, so straight ML for me.

Ah penetrate, wrong source I read. Apologies. Cramming in the article reading can backfire if you're not careful. Oh well, on it for better or worse. Gonna need that offense then. Smith is okay, but not stellar.

Yeah his last two starts were awful, but the pen ultimately blew the game. Offense did it's part. I'm riding with it. Mistake on my part, maybe I get bailed out. UW's offense has not been producing great, so maybe Smith can grind through for a bit and let the Rebs O do work.

This other game just so many RISP and just need a few more timely hits.

All the walks and errors really should have made one of these teams pay.
