    Florida State -110
Finale of a three game set between FSU & NC State. They split the 1st two, FSU with the rout on Sunday, 12-3. Sitz for FSU. Stone for NC State. Numbers look heavily in favor of Sitz who has an ERA under 2.00, but he's hittable. Stone's ERA is enormous at 5.93. The big thing against Stone is that he does not usually work a big load of innings, so the bullpen is going to come into play. Both pens have quality arms, but FSU is fresher. Offensively, both teams can hit. The Wolfpack have more speed, while FSU might be the more likely team to hang a crooked number.

        Indiana -105
The Hoosiers may be more well known for Hoops, but this year's baseball squad is the class of the Big Ten. They travel to Kentucky to take on a floundering Wildcats team. IU features seven starters hitting .293 or better, boasting a .308 team batting average that ranks 18th in D1. Their 40 home runs are tied for 20th. This team can flat out hit. Pitching edge goes to IU even with a Frosh on the hill. Coursen-Carr take his 1.70 ERA to Lexington. Senior Jerand Grundy goes for UK. His ERA is 5.02. Opponents are hitting .292 off him. There is a clear class gap here and even though it's a road test for IU against a SEC team, they have already beaten Florida twice on the road this year so they should not fear this Kentucky team.

Good one in Cali. UCLA visiting Fullerton State. The Titans beat UCLA 9-6 earlier in the season on the road. The Bruins toss out the same starter as that game, Cody Poteet. The Titans torched him for four runs in 3.2 IP. Fullerton counters with senior Michael Lopez. Lopez will be making his 1st start of the season. Both teams will expect their bullpens involved early. Both teams have good arms out of the pen. UCLA stronger at the back end, Fullerton with more depth and versatility IMO. No comparison on offense - Fullerton has scored 76 more runs and has five regulars batting over .300. UCLA? Zero. Slight edge to UCLA on defense.

Sloppy game. IU bullpen was bad. Kentucky tried to hand it to them with four errors, but they didn't take it. 5-3 UK.

                  Pittsburgh +185
Monster series for Big East supremacy finds Pitt going to Louisville. Pitching match-up in Game 1 is a dandy. Cards send out Chad Green who is 8-2 with a 1.73 ERA. Pitt counters with Ethan Mildren who is 9-2 with a 2.17 ERA. With pitching being about even, you look at the offense/defense. Offensively, Pitt is the highest scoring squad in the Big East. 82 more runs than Louisville. The Cards can kill on the base paths though, something Pitt must shut down. Louisville with a slight edge in the field and better bullpen. The key is Mildren. He has four CG this season and if he can cut down the number of innings that the bullpen is needed, that means Pitt is in a position to win. A quality start and I think Pitt will be there.

                  Miami +130
Canes need one win to clinch a spot in the ACC tournament as they host Georgia Tech this weekend. Pitching is the strong suit for Miami. Lefty Stephen Diaz opens with a microscopic 1.41 ERA. The crafty lefty will be tough on a Tech offense that can roll up big #s. Diaz though has shut down some juggernaut offensive teams this year, including North Carolina & Florida State. The big question is whether or not Miami's offense can do enough to win. Buck Farmer goes for Tech. He's their ace, but he is vulnerable, especially on the road where this team is not as strong. Miami would do well to get Farmer out early and get into a Tech bullpen that can be carved up.

Louisville making all the big pitches. Pitt has had at least two runners on in every inning and have just one run on ten hits. Louisville made Pitt pay for one bad inning, 4-1 in the 6th.

Riding with the Canes and superior pitching again. Diaz actually goes tonight after Eric Whaley was named a late starter on Friday. Georgia Tech counters with Dusty Isaacs who sports a 3.57 ERA. Miami was able to get to Buck Farmer last night and chase him after six, scoring seven runs in the process. If the Canes' bats can get going early again, Diaz has the ability to keep Tech at-bay and give Miami a shot to get another W.

Suddenly, North Carolina has some pressure on them. These two teams are pretty much dead even with the top two offenses in the ACC and both with good pitching. UVA sends a senior out tonight, while UNC will shift out a sophomore who has more talent, but obviously less experience. UVA laid 10 runs on the Heels in winning 10-4 last night, that was the most runs scored against UNC. We'll see if UNC can rebound, but they have been a bit flat lately and UVA is hot.

                            Oregon State -120
Civil War, baseball style as the Beavers visit Oregon in a battle of Top 6 clubs with the PAC-12 title on the line. Both teams feature great, great pitching. The opener showcasing that with two lefties on the mound. Matt Boyd and his 2.04 ERA for OSU & Thorpe for Oregon with his 2.62 ERA. Offensively, neither is a killer, but the Beavers are much more consistent albeit this one likely is going to be a low scoring game decided by a run or two. Like Oregon State here as the Beavers have won consistently on the road. Oregon is a tough out, but solid pitching has been able to beat them in close games.

At least Miami is laying the smack down on Ga.Tech again.

Riding the Canes for the sweep. They bring out their best pitcher, Bryan Radziewski - another tough lefty with a ridiculous 1.26 ERA. Georgia Tech counters with Freshman lefty Jonathan King and his 4.62 ERA. The Canes have proven this series that they can take advantage of mediocre pitching. They need to jump on King early as they have done on the Tech starters in this series to put themselves in position for another W.

Slight edge pitching for Oregon State, although the Ducks have the better experience. This was a series though where I think the dog has won each of the first two games and that is where my moolah goes today.

Carolina comes into this one IMO in need of a little confidence boost. Virginia took 2 of 3 from them over the weekend and the one game UNC won was due to a five run 8th in a game that they looked dead for the majority. FSU meanwhile clinched the Atlantic Division title with a couple wins over Clemson. The big change here though is that FSU heads out on the road where they have not fared that well in 2013. Junior Pete Miller goes for FSU. He didn't last two innings against Clemson in his last start, while Senior Chris Munnelly goes for the Heels. Munnelly has been the perfect 'tweener for UNC with six starts and 16 appearances overall. His .152 BAA shouts out how much talent he has. Both teams could be looking to the bullpen where UNC holds a little edge IMO. Both lineups can stroke it, but UNC does it better.

                                              SEC Tournament: Alabama +100
The Crimson Tide take on Auburn. Auburn has the definite nod in starts today with Conner Kendrick and his 2.03 ERA going against Justin Kamplain and his 4.53 ERA. Kamplain though does have just a .215 BAA, so he does have good stuff and his last start vs. Missouri was solid.

Kendrick has been Auburn's undisputed #1, but 'Bama did lace him for six runs in a meeting earlier this season, but only two were earned. He pitched once more against them very early and shut the Tide out in six innings of relief. Errors have been an issue for Auburn though. 'Bama and Auburn split four games, but the Tide won two of the last three - all @ Auburn. The Tide put up a helluva fight @ Vandy last week, losing two of three - but putting up big offensive numbers against a stellar pitching staff. They scored 21 runs in the three game series and have 59 runs scored in their last eight games.

Both teams have options out of the bullpen if needed. Both offenses are fairly close in all your key categories, but the Tide appear more explosive - although Auburn does come in off an 11 run effort.. I think Auburn's faulty fielding could play a role again.

Been back & forth, 'Bama blew an opportunity to put up a crooked number when they had the bases loaded - but at least tied it.

                                                              SEC Tournament: Texas A&M -115
Aggies & Gators. A&M needs a win and then some to have a shot at Regional play. Gators may already be in with a solid RPI despite a lackluster record. Florida appears to be approaching the game that way as they will start their closer, Johnny Magliozzi for the third time this season. A&M sends out their ace Daniel Mengden which gives them an edge IMO if he can limit the Gators offense early. Neither team is a high octane offense with Florida scoring about 30 more runs on the season than A&M and both ranking middle to lower tier in team batting average. The bullpens have pluses and minuses. A&M has a couple solid guys, but not as much versatility as Florida - but the Gators versatility isn't quite that talented. If A&M can get into the Florida pen early, they have a shot here and will have plenty of motivation. They come in knowing that if Mengden is his usual self, four runs may be enough to win this.
