Skulina tonight for Kent State. Montgomery for S.Carolina. Total is 8.5. SC heavy favorites but I think given that a freshman is pitching for them, not set very accurately. Doing more research. Deciding whether to hedge my SC future here too.

I know I have been cold as ice with my picks but I don't have a good feeling about this game. Skulina has a nasty slider and that is our weakness

Kent st is a tough and talented team. Took Kentucky to 21 innings and won a tough regional with a good Purdue team. Then they go up to Eugene and take out the ducks...Now they eliminate Highly touted Florida with a chance to knock off the back 2 back defending champs. I love my gamecocks but i just feel like Kent st gets it done tonight. I hope im wrong but that Gamecock mojo may have left the building

I'm going Kent State +2.5 (-155). Worth the juice to me. Skulina has already pitched in pressure situations in the NCAAs and done well. Montgomery may well match him with a big effort, but he is still a freshman who hasn't pitched for a couple weeks. On top of that, SC has been troubling with RISP in Omaha and Kent obviously wiggled out of big jams against Florida. The only thing that would surprise me tonight is a blowout. I think it is close and hopefully for my future, SC pulls thrrough.

On Gamecocks -1.5 -125 and over 8.5 -130...
BOL to everyone. I see USC getting back on track tonight and think Skulina gets roughed up.
This one won't start until 10EST.

According to the NCAA, the game for tonight is postponed until tomorrow at 11 am
Tough break (maybe) for both teams though because the winner has to play again at night against Arkansas. Although both aces - Starn for Kent State and Roth for SC get an extra day rest, so that may actually be a blessing in diguise. Arizona-FSU set for 5pm ET/4pm CT. CWS all day baby, gotta love that. Beautiful weather tomorrow, only in the mid 80s and the wind may actually be blowing OUT. Doubtful that makes a big dent though.

Waiting for starters for Arizona-FSU. 'Zona said to be leaning towards Heyer. Likely Leibrandt again for FSU. Obviously the elimination game is huge for FSU because they lose and go home, but psychologically if Heyer is on the mound and 'Zona loses - I think FSU wins the one after that and rolls into the Championship Series.

Confirmed: Heyer v. Leibrandt rematch Arizona/FSU.
Game is listed as a total pick 'em, both @ -110. Total @ 9.5. Going to see how the weather does/doesn't effect the Kent State-SC game early today. Wind will be blowing out some today, but only around 10 mph so I don't think it's going to create any major carry on the balls hit in the air. Both starters were solid in that one. Leibrandt needs to go deeper today. Heyer had FSU's # and only walked three, a big key to keeping the Seminoles at-bay. Both had men on base throughout the game, both staffs did a good job of limiting big hits with RISP. Outside of their 4th inning against UCLA, Arizona did nothing the rest of the game - but the four runs were obviously enough. I lean to FSU right now. Their offense is producing more opportunities consistently, but they do need to get the big hit more frequently. Likely FSU ML or Under 9.5 - under more tempting at the moment. Considering the limited offense we've seen outside of FSU slamming Stony Brook and the great pitching both have produced, I would think 6-9 runs in this game tops unless one pitcher is just totally off, but both coaches will go to the pen quick.

Roth was amazing and they make the books look smart damn it with a 4-1 final. Wish I would have double checked for new info this morning, but I think I would have still not worried about the +2.5 even with Roth. It's not like SC murdered the ball, they got two big hits with two outs and got the one big blast from Danzle and that was enough. Take the good with the bad, my SC future on them to win the bracket stays alive.
Be interesting to see who SC throws tonight. Guessing Montgomery with the bullpen standing by if needed, but Koumas would be an intriguing choice too. Should be Baxendale for the Hogs again, I would think.
Don't see any reason not to try this one @ 5pm ET.

I think they have shown a little more consistency getting runners on base, but the game is pretty much a toss up. I think the winner is probably going to be whichever team forces the other to go to their bullpen first.

Leibrandt owes me money for killing the over in half an inning. Wow. Sure double play ball he air mails into the OF and then it unravels from there. 6-0 in the 1st.

I doubt Arkansas throws Baxendale tonight. I bet they go with Fant. If SC gets to him early they still have a rested bullpen.

Confirmed Fant is starting. Think SC is over valued again at -170. I am going to pass on that one and just root for my SC future. Given the long time off for both starters, Over 7.5 is tempting but could just as easy be 2-1 again.

I don't think you could get two better pitching performances than Roth & Montgomery today. Oustanding work so far. SC could probably use an insurance run to keep this out of reach. Surely, Price will be ready.

The Champs are still here. 2-0 final forces another game tomorrow and my SC future to win the bracket is very much alive. Cannot fathom anything but Colby Holmes v. DJ Baxendale on Friday. Should be another tight, nail biter. Would not be surprised if books put SC up a little more from -170. Even though I think that is giving them a bit much, hard to go against this team that showed balls of steel and shut down pitching. Would think the total is 7.5 tops with the juice on the under to open, if not just a flat 7.

Baxendale confirmed. Holmes is probable but Koumas and Belcher have also been talked about. Seeing as Koumas and Belcher haven't pitched in weeks, I'd find it difficult to see Holmes not starting and then the full bullpen is available if needed. Holmes only threw 53 pitches in the 2-1 loss to Arkansas the first time out and he may have been yanked early with this sort of situation in mind.
I see SC @ -175 and Arkansas @ +155. Total is 7 and people still juicing the over. Just cannot see backing an over with good pitching and wind blowing in most games. Even at 7, I think it would be an adventure just to get a push. I've basically got SC to win tonight @ +240 since I have them to win the bracket. Will probably throw half a unit on the Arkansas ML to cover. I'll take the short loss if the Hogs win, but SC got their Mojo back yesterday after one little hiccup. Hard to go against a team that just seems to know how to win tight games in Omaha and outside of one game - Arkansas' bats are still fairly chilly as far as putting up big numbers. SC is in the same vein certainly, but they have gotten the big hits recently and that confidence could carry them.
