What the **** is the love fest these home plate umps have for the right side of the plate? They have called pitches several inches off the plate on that side strikes all night and called balls right on the other corner balls.

#318I would think so man. I think whomever loses the Florida-SC game should be able to beat Arkansas or Kent State. Nothing a given of course, but I would be shocked to see either Florida or South Carolina go down in their 1st two games.Comment -

#321I decided in the end not to play Kent State ML, only because I essentially have a play on Kent State by taking Arkansas as the first team to get eliminated. Truly believe the Golden Flashes have a great shot to put Arkansas in the loser's bracket and then I'm hopeful the Gators or Gamecocks take them out for a nice profit. Starn needs to start out with better control today, but the guy is one of the better pitchers in the country that no one talks about.Comment -

Cannot pass up on Michael Roth at this price. The drift on this is just ridiculous regardless of the talent in the other dugout. Roth is one of the best postseason pitchers in NCAA history & has proven it time and time again, even against the Gators last season. This is another chance for him Roth to add to his legacy and psychologically scar the Gators on Day 1.Comment -

#330Adding this future. Think it is a great #.
UCLA to Win Bracket One [-120]
Bruins are set up nicely with the game against Arizona on Sunday. Outside of when Heyer kept them in check, they owned Arizona in the regular season series for the seventh straight season from what I have read. Vander Tuig goes for UCLA against Wade on Sunday. Vander Tuig has been solid in the NCAAs with two straight quality starts and wins for UCLA. Wade pitched Arizona into the CWS against St.John's, but he is still a very hittable pitcher. UCLA slammed him for six runs in three innings of a 15-3 route. If they win on Sunday, then they really have no excuses for not being in the Championship Series as they can manipulate their rotation to give Plutko the big starts.Comment -

#334I love that they put the Gators into the loser's bracket right away. That has to damage them mentally, Could not believe the price had floated out to +175 by first pitch. Had to do it. At least that future for SC to win the bracket is set up fairly well. Big win for the bankroll yesterday to get gong in the right direction.

#335With the futures I have, it doesn't make sense to play a side in Stony Brook-Florida State since I will still have one of them alive to win the bracket after today. Honestly, I would tend to give Stony Brook a chance again today. They get a freshman pitcher in Mike Compton today who struggled in the Super Regionals, giving up 11 hits and did not make it out of the 5th inning. He was good in the Regional round against a lighter hitting Samford team, but struggled to go five in the ACC tournament. He only gave up a run there, but with the extra inning game the other night - if Compton doesn't go deep, FSU will have to go to the pen early. They have the arms, but may not have Benincasa to use for an extended outing after he threw 44 pitches the other night. I'm expecting a more settled in Stony Brook team today, one that should show better plate discipline.

#337June 17th: [CWS] UCLA -1.5 [-120]
Bruins have absolutely owned Arizona during the regular season. UCLA has beaten the Wildcats in the season series seven straight years. That includes taking two of three in Tucson in 2012. The only game Arizona won in each of the last two seasons against UCLA were started by Kurt Heyer. No such luxury tonight. It's Vander Tuig for UCLA and Konner Wade for Arizona. Wade was beaten up by UCLA for in just 3 IP, six runs allowed. Vander Tuig went 5.2 IP in that game, allowing three runs. Vander Tuig was been rock solid in the NCAAs with two consecutive stellar starts, including last weekend's clincher against TCU. Wade again for me is a very hittable guy who will be dodging traffic if his stuff stays at its current level. FSU did a good job keeping the Arizona offense in check and surprisingly the Arizona pen held serve. That is still a big edge for UCLA in this one. If they get 5-6 from Vander Tuig and have a lead, they will feel comfortable about their chances. I think it is important for them to jump on Wade early to serve notice that they have Arizona's number. UCLA outscored Arizona 24-9 in the regular season series, incuding 15 runs in one game. The two wins both came by more than two runs.Comment -

CWS: 1-4-1 [-2.95]

Kent State-Florida Under 10 [+105]
Hudson Randall for Florida and Ryan Bores for Kent State. Game temp is supposed to be around 100, so heat is going to be something to watch out for and potential fatigue for the starters. Randall is a stud, the stopper for the Gators. He has allowed just one earned run in his two NCAA starts this season and should feel comfortable about his chances to shut down a Kent State offense that was handcuffed by Arkansas. Bores is a capable pitcher who will need to establish himself in the strike zone early. He pitched a CG against Purdue in the Regionals, giving up just three runs and surrendered three in 6 IP against Oregon in the Super Regionals. Wind is supposed to be gusting @ 25-30 mph from S-SW which is blowing in front center/left center. Florida have some Herculean power in their lineup, but it may take a massive swing today to get close to going out of the park which of course is already playing very pitcher friendly.
South Carolina-Arkansas Over 7.5 [-135]
Holmes for South Carolina and Stanek for Arkansas. SC beat up Stanek for five runs in five innings of an 8-6 Gamecocks win in Arkansas this season. Those three games all featured double digit run totals as the offenses were clearly beating up the good pitching. Stanek has good stuff, but has shown some uncharacteristic wildness in the SEC Tournament and against Baylor in the Supers. He walked nine in those two games combined, nearly one third of his total walks on the season. If SC is patient, they should be able to get some base runners on and then will need to get the big hit. Holmes has been brilliant in the postseason, barely being touched in the NCAAs. A big plus for the Razorbacks is that their offense got untracked in the opening game and this is an offense that when it gets hot can reel off runs. Their eight runs against Kent State was the most they had scored since the final game of the regular season. Eight straight they had gone with no more than five runs, but to end the regular season they had five or more in eleven of their last 13 - including all three games in the season series with SC. Likely to play this for 1.5 units.Comment -
