#179No info on Stony Brook. Brian Adkins is reported start for UCF. 4.50 ERA, .308 BAA. So, I'm not going against my gut on that one. I am also playing Stony Brook +195, #1 as a hedge and #2 because I think it realistically could be a winner with as explosive as their offense is. TCU pick is all on momentum. Neither team is tipping their hand on their starter, but expecting everyone including the aces to appear. Horned Frogs since the Dayton game seem to have some sort of mojo working, I'm gonna ride my boys tonight for a half unit.

#182Confirmed, Wahl will start tonight for Ole Miss. Man I don't know what to think about this game. Not a big SEC homer or anything but I like Ole Miss for some reason. TCU is so hot right now. May just lay off that oneComment -

#183Wahl is good, but he won't pitch long. He threw a lot of pitches on Friday, so I think if he makes it 4 - Ole Miss would be ecstatic. TCU probably do the same with Preston Morrison perhaps. This is going to be a bullpen game in the end. Probably whichever team jumps out early is going to really be hard to beat.Comment -

#192Would be awesome if they took out LSU ... cash that over boys! Looks like I will make something off the UCF future and hedging Stony Brook ML today. Vandy looks in line to cash that future potentially if they can hold their lead ... would make for a lovely round.Comment -

#193Super Regionals look phenomenal. May get an all-SEC with Florida-Vanderbilt. FSU-Stanford is just f-ing outstanding. Oregon-Kent State will be one no one talks about, but should be really good. LSU-Stony Brook = David v. Goliath.Comment -

#198Record: 23-17 [+12.63]
Regionals: 13-9 [+5.35]
Regional Futures: 0-4 [-2.50]
Well, lost two futures on the final day of Regionals that would have made for real nice bank, but outside of that - Regionals round was solid with a good late rally after that POS day on Saturday. Working on some Super Regionals previews. Won't be as detailed as what I did last year, but hoping to at least provide the info on starting pitchers/offense/defense stats plus my personal predictions. I see lines are up for Game 1s @ 5Dimes. Will get on those as soon as I finish up the previews later today.Comment -

#203Hopefully they put up some futures prices tomorrow. Probably going to be pretty chalky prices though for the home teams to win each Super Regional. Might be a shot or two though for an upset. Will post any if I get to see prices tomorrow. Getting this one up now. Likely to take the Arizona-St.John's Over 12.5, but trying to find starting pitchers listed ...
June 8th: [Baton Rouge] LSU-Stony Brook Over 10.5 [+110]
It's freshman Aaron Nola for LSU and Brandon McNitt for Stony Brook to open the Super Regional in Baton Rouge. Both teams are holding their aces back for Saturday's Game 2. Nola was outstanding in the opener of the Regional last weekend, but faced a far less dangerous team in UL-Monroe. He sports a 3.66 ERA for the season with a .245 BAA. McNitt, a sophomore, had a 2.69 ERA in the regular season but was bashed for eight runs/six earned in his Regional start against a potent UCF club. He faces a LSU team batting .291 on the season with four regulars batting over .300 including Interplanetary Superstud Raph Rhymes who is batting a ridonkulous .452 this season. LSU was solid with 17 runs in three games last weekend. They may not be as explosive as Stony Brook appears to be, but they are good at grinding out 4-6 runs per game and definitely have big run potential when the ball gets rolling. The Seawolves come in full of confidence with 50 runs scored in five games in last weekend's Regional round. They scored against good pitching and won't be fearful of this LSU staff despite their numbers and reputation. Getting the freshman Nola first up should give them confidence to score some runs in this opener. Eight players are batting over .300 for Stony Brook. LSU is giving this squad plenty of respect in the media and rightfull so. I think Stony Brook will be dangerous for the young pitcher and LSU will feel good about putting runs up against McNitt who didn't appear to handle facing a tough lineup very well. Getting plus odds on this one seems like a worthy shot to open given the scoring prowess that these teams possess + the pitching selections.Comment -

#204Alright, seeing Kyle Hansen for St.John's (3.46 ERA) against Kurt Heyer (2.03 ERA) for Arizona today. Will have to chew on that one for a bit. Seeing the Series Prices for the 1st four series today. Big dogs as expected:
Stony Brook +775
St.John's +650
TCU +450
And then the series figuring to be most competitive shown that:
Stanford -140
Florida State +120
See it pretty difficult to say taking any of those big dogs is anything but a long shot as reflected by the odds. I do think Stony Brook and St.John's could stretch their series to three. So you could potentially use the series price as a hedge opportunity if they can get to the third game. I'm going to look at the Stanford-FSU series more to see if there is a good side to take for the series. Expecting the four series tomorrow to have much lower prices. Florida will probably be the largest favorite over NC State, but I think Baylor & S.Carolina may offer a nice price depending on who you like. I think the Oregon-Kent State one is the one to keep an eye on.
General rule of thumb for Super Regionals - the host team if all things are equal usually wind up advancing. I think if you're looking for an upset, look for a host that has a definitive weakness and that the opposition has enough arms/bats to actually compete.Comment -

#206Well guess I should have gone with my gut for that first game. Had Stony Brook +2.5 marked as better than the over, but decided the over instead. I thought about both overs/Arizona for this next game - but going to go with this. Stony Brook close to pulling off another big time upset.
June 8th: [Tucson Super Regional] Arizona -2.5 [-130]
Heyer should give the Wildcats a boost in the pitching department over Hansen for St.John's. The Johnnies won't be taken lightly after KO-ing North Carolina last week. Heyer was one of the best in the country all-season and has shut down stuff. Arizona's offense scored 15 or better in all three Regional games last weekend, including twice against Louisville - a Big East team that St.John's lost to in two out of three games during the regular season. If the Arizona bats remain as hot as the Tucson air, look for the Wildcats to start big today.Comment -
