Not sure why there would be big line movement. What were the odds for Fla St at the time? Could have been more of an adjustment for the Noles than Stanford because its really a pretty even match up. Appel going for the Cardinal and Leinbrandt the Freshman Left going for the Noles. I got to back #8 draft pick Appel here even on the road. FSU has the best fielding percentage in College Baseball at .981 and have a great offense too. This is a tough one to pick but I have to side with the Cardinal to get it done tonight.

#215June 8th: (LA Super Regional) UCLA-TCU Under 9.5 (-125)
Plutko for the Bruins. Finnegan for the Frogs. Expecting this series to be tight. Finnegan was excellent against Ole Miss in an elimination setting last weekend. It is his charge to keep a good UCLA offense down. Plutko was solid against Creighton and has set the tone all year with a 2.56 ERA. I think runs are at a premium with four or five probably enough to win tonivght.Comment -

Was under the impression he was starting Game 2 and probably still would be, maybe they're just looking for an inning and thinking they can win it after that.Comment -

#229I don't know about that Balco. Stony Brook can play with anyone, they really should have won yesterday - but could not hold leads twice in extra innings. SB obviously starts their ace. Wondering if LSU sticks with Gausman or saves him just in case. I think they keep him in line to close it out in 2, but never know a coaches' thinking.
Doesn't look like they will post a handicap for this one, but I would have been tempted to take Stony Brook + the runs ... although with the price, I'd want 3.5 if they consider LSU that big a favorite. Will sit that one out.Comment -

#230Record: 23-17 [+12.63]
Super Regionals: 1-2 [-1.30]
June 9th [Gainesville Super Regional] Florida-N.C. State Over 9.5 [-120]
Gators start their ace, Hudson Randall. Randall has been rock solid with a 2.83 ERA. He's been there, done that in the postseason. He limited a hot offense in Georgia Tech to just one run, but only made it through 5.2 IP. The Gators' pen slammed the door shut the rest of the way in a 6-2 win. Florida had not been an overly explosive offense until they laid 15 on the Jackets to eliminate them in the Regional Final. Florida ranked 5th in the SEC with a .281 average, but finished 3rd in runs and rank #1 in long balls with 71. Ethan Ogburn is on the hill for the Wolfpack with a 3.23 ERA for the season. He pitched in the blowout win over UNC-Wilmington in the Regional last weekend, nearly going the distance but he did give up five runs. He was prone to giving up the long ball as well, giving up seven. Wilmington hit two off him and Miami hit one in his start in the ACC Tournament where he shut down the Canes in a 3-2 win. The Wolfpack offense will be a good test for Randall. NC State boasts four regulars who hit over .330. They scored 56 runs in five regional games last week. Ryan Mathews is ties for 10th in D1 with 17 homers. Ogburn was hittable with a .248 BAA and he pitches to contact with just 18 walks all-season. That means Florida will get chances and homers could be big today. Randall is in the same mode. He had just ten walks all season, so NC State will also need to be on their toes to swing early in counts.Comment -

#231Baylor To Advance to CWS [-140]
Baylor is at home for the Super Regional against Arkansas. The Razorbacks were fairly highly regarded to start the season, but struggled to win series against most of the top teams in the SEC. They were a combined 4-8 against Florida, LSU, Kentucky and South Carolina. Arkansas won what looked like one of the weakest Regionals with top seed Rice being booted by Sam Houston State, the team that the Razorbacks eliminated to advance. Arkansas is hitting .277 & averages right around five runs per game. Their pitching was the key to this team with a 2.86 ERA. Baxendale & Stanek are a solid 1-2 punch with Moore anchoring the bullpen along with closer Astin Barrett. Baylor is hitting a robust .312 and put up close to 6.5 runs per game. Their pitching staff was solid with a 3.14 ERA, but are top heavy with their starters leading the way. Blank & Turley went 19-2 with a combined ERA just over 2.00. If Baylor has a soft spot, it's their bullpen. They have plenty of good arms but closer Max Garner has had his issues. For me, the pitching is close to a wash. I think the Baylor starters rate better, while the Razorbacks pen is a shade more consistent. The difference is the offenses. Baylor has been much more prolific and consistent, while Arkansas has gone through bouts where they scuffle to score consistently. Last weekend's regionals show that. Baylor scored 33 runs in the final four games of the Regional after scoring just two in the opener. Arkansas scored eleven in three games, using stellar pitching to win. Arkansas though had also scuffled in the SEC Tournament, scoring one run in two games. Good pitching should be able to limit them. Baylor has that and if their offense remains consistent - I think the Bears head to Omaha.

#232June 9th [Tucson Super Regional] St.John's +2.5 [+120]
St.John's will have to shake off the blow opportunity of Game 1, but should carry plenty of confidence into Game 2. The Red Storm banged out 18 hits against Arizona, 17 against one of the best in D1 in Kurt Heyer. They'll likely face Konner Wade. Wade has a 4.69 ERA. He was able to escape ten hits last weekend in another Arizona blowout win over Louisville in the Regional round. He can be hit, the key for St.John's will be getting the big hits with RISP. The Red Storm will put out their ace Sean Hagan to stave off elimination. Hagan has been solid all year, going 8-2 with a 2.72 ERA. He gave up four runs last weekend in his regional start against UNC, but kept the Red Storm in a game they ended up winning with a walk off HR in the 9th. Arizona will be a test for him, but if he can keep Arizona contained enough - St.John's should have a chance to put up runs against Wade. I would not be surprised if they get the win today, but will go the safer route with the spread.
June 9th [Eugene Super Regional] Kent State +2.5 [-130]
David Starn in a stellar pitching match-up with Oregon's Alex Keudell. Starn sports a 2.01 ERA. Keudell equally impressive at 2.38. Both guys are solid control pitchers who can nab Ks, but get their Ks more based on getting ahead in the count than having overpowering K stuff. Oregon has one of the weaker lineups left in the postseason, hitting just .268 as a team. They are very much a small ball team that uses sacrifices to set up runs. Kent State was much more productive with a .306 average and three regulars batting over .360. The Golden Flashes aren't a big home run team, but that have some great gap power. The Ducks may have won one of the weaker Regionals last weekend, but they will be tested this weekend. Starn gives Kent State a chance every time he steps on the mound. This one looks likely to be a close battle and is another where I think Kent State could win straight up.Comment -

#235Hagan is terrible today for STJ. Can't throw strikes and just getting beat around. He'll be out pretty soon at this rate if St.John's wants to have any hope of coming back in this game, but they're getting their asses handed to them early. 4-0 and more likely to come. Guess the -245 on the Over was like taking Arizona ML @ -245 since they might score 13 by themselves.

#237June 9th [LA Regional] UCLA-TCU Over 9 [-125]
Gut feeling here that Preston Morrison is going to have a difficult time tonight. Morrison was given an extra day of rest because he pitched twice that weekend. Finnegan did an excellent job against the Bruins, but with the righty Morrison on the mound - I think UCLA's lefty hitters are going to find earlier success. Vander Tuig goes for the Bruins. He has a 4.53 ERA and a .281 BAA against. He was lights out against New Mexico in the Regionals last weekend, but he's prone to the gopher ball [12] and TCU has been red hot hitting the long ball. This has the smell of a bullpen game and while UCLA has a solid pen, TCU has been inconsisent at times.Comment -

#240Well at least Kent State is looking good up 3 in the 6th. Will try to turn it around tomorrow. Have to see what is posted. Stony Brook-LSU you'll get both #3s. Should be Stecko-Haley for SB and Eades for LSU who has a .287 BAA. Probably won't get more than +1.5 for Stony Brook seeing as they are +200 ... not so sure Stony Brook in either case isn't the best play. LSU is lucky to still be in this series with their offense sputtering and Stony Brook seems tailor made to be the Cinderella story of Omaha. Gonna sleep on that one.

#242June 10th Parlay: Florida + Baylor [+116]
Florida puts no-hit wonder Crawford back on the mound against freshmen star Carlos Rodon for NC State. Crawford has given up a gradn total of two hits in his last two starts and will look to limit a Wolfpack lineup that struggled to find much against Hudson Randall in Game 1. Rodon can be absolutely dominating at-times, but he's had some major issues with walks down the stretch and that is not something you want to do with the pop in this Gators lineup ready to unload with runners on base. Rodon will need to be "on" early or this could get ugly. Baylor goes for the sweep as well. The Bears jumped to an early lead on Baxendale and never looked back. Stanek will go likely for Arkansas and Baylor throwing their strong #2 in Josh Turley. Turley kept his team in both starts in the Regionals, showing guts to come back on short rest to give them innings in the Championship that were needed. Stanek can be dominant when his stuff is working. The difference again today for me is the offense. Arkansas has been prone to droughts, while Baylor has been mostly explosive all-season.Comment -
