That game is too tough to call for me. I think LSU probably wins, but it may be very tight.

Mad at myself. I had UCF-Stony Brook marked for an over, but took the massive # instead. Lots of scoring opps in the NM State game, but behind the pace - need a huge inning somewhere soon.

        June 2nd [Palo Alto Regional] Stanford-Pepperdine Over 10.5 [-130]
Mooneyham for Stanford. Pepperdine likely to use Frazier if they stick with their normal rotation. Mooneyham sports a 4.01 ERA and comes in off his worst performance of the year, giving up nine runs to Cal. Before that, he had given up just one run in his last 15.1 IP. So, he can be really good and really hittable. Frazier has a 3.87 ERA and a .262 BAA. He was roughed up in his last outing against San Diego. Command is key for him. When it's on, he's hard to hit. When it's off, watch out. Stanford has been a consistent offense with ten straight games of at least four runs. They hit .291 as a team and are capable of explosive performances like last night's nine run output. Pepperdine grinds it out on offense. They hit .282 as a team and won't wow you outside of stud Joe Sever - but most nights before you know it, the Waves can put up five or six. This game is either going to be a total pitcher's duel if both pitchers have their absolute A games or somewhere in between where we should see double digit runs if one or both have command problems.

Nice win! Bet you about shit your pants today with the ebb and flow of that game. This NM State game is destined to finish obscenely low scoring given all the base traffic. Slow start to the Regionals game-by-game. Hoping Oral Roberts can get their shit straight and get a win and then hit the Stanford over to fix things up. Thinking hard about the Arizona game late too ....

            I took Stanford -2.5 -160...LSU -1.5 -120 and over 10.5

Good luck man. I feel like I was trying to play catch up all day today in looking at lines. Hasn't worked out so well. Think I need to cut down and focus a bit better. Hard to do on Saturday.

Konner Wade: Made 17 total appearances, including eight starts ... Earned a starting spot in the weekend rotation in late April and never looked back ... Established a new school freshman record for lowest earned run average (3.21) ... Set new school record with 1.000 winning percentage (3-0) for freshman pitchers with at least 60 innings thrown ... In six games in regular starting rotation, posted a 2-0 record with a 2.94 ERA in 33.2 innings. Struck out 13 and issued just seven walks ... Improved to 3-0 on season with sensational performance against Seton Hall in an elimination game at the College Station Regional (6/5)

Just won huge 15-3 over Missouri, so bats are hot.

Watch out on that Arizona play. Wildcats pitcher tonight is not their best. Louisville should have a chance to tee off on him. Cards sending out a frosh, but he's very talented - still a damn tough lineup to hold down. I think there will be runs in this one, siding with the Over 12.5.

Just now noticed Vandy rallied from 8-3 down in the 8th! Something magical about the 'Dores run if they pull off a win tonight. UCF in prime position now in Coral Gables to maybe cash that future. Rice having trouble with their offense [shocker]. They have to get two wins to get to the Championship now.

Also, kudos to Kentucky and Kent State - looks like both are going to win today after that marathon last night. Impressive stuff. Those Big 10 teams are cursed in the postseason. Purdue probably thought they were in great shape. Now Kent gets to line Starn up for an elimination game whenever someone gets a crack at them.

                                  June 2nd [Tucson Regional] Arizona-Louisville Over 12.5 [-125]
Konner Wade goes for 'Zona, sporting a 4.88 ERA and coming off a walloping at the hands of Arizona State a week ago. He's got good strikeout stuff at times, but is wild. .246 BAA isn't terrible. Jared Ruxer goes for Louisville. Solid freshman season, but he isn't overpowering. He pitches to contact with just 15 walks in 75 IP. That could be dangerous against this lethal Wildcats offense. Surprisingly, Louisville has been held to three runs or less in three straight. For a team averaging close to seven runs per game, they are too good to be kept down for long. Arizona obviously can explode at any time as last night's 15 run output shows. I think Wade is going to scuffle a bit against the Cards bats and the freshman is the wildcard. He could be outstanding, but he may also crack facing a terrorizing lineup.

The over is a solid play, but playing in the 100 degree heat and home field I'll side UA -2.5 and small play on over 12.5

Hell yeah. Two of the plus odds futures [UCF/Vanderbilt] are in the driver's seat. Mississippi State has a tough road, but still possible with their pitching .... Rice has to find some offense, but I still think they can win @ home even from the loser's position. If UCF & Vandy win, it'll be a good profit and make up for some of the individual game losses.

Alright, well not sure what all I might play when the other lines are set - but of the early ones set, going to go for this and hope this Arizona Over hits to at least end the day with a win after some more near misses in the end.

                                                June 3rd [Columbia Regional] Coastal Carolina-Clemson Over 9.5 [-120]
Coastal will choose from one of three freshman to start, perhaps the likeliest being lefty Javier Reynoso. He started the regular season meeting, giving up five runs in five innings - but several were unearned. In any case, the Clemson bats are likely to find success. Clemson will try to shake off their extra innings loss to South Carolina. The Tigers will start Dominic Leone. Leone has a bloated 5.49 ERA in 16 starts. He has a .291 BAA and had trouble with walks. Coastal should be able to get ducks on the pond if they are patient and then need to get key hits. Clemson has scored 18 runs in the two meetings this season with Coastal scoring 13. Given the starters, if the offenses get going early - there should be little trouble clearing this number. Might be slilly of me, but I'm doubling up the unit size on this one.

Been a struggle so far. Think I am trying to do a little too much - 7 plays today was just too much and bad management on my part, so Sunday I am going to keep the plays down to 3-4 tops. I think that was part of my better strategy last year that reaped some rewards. Goal is to get back even by the end of the Regional Round.

This total just seems way too low. Missouri State comes in off a blistering 12 run outburst against Miami which should have them confident of putting up more runs today. The Bears left 12 on-base Friday against UCF, so they have had opportunities in both games. Cody Schumacher goes for Missouri State. He had a 3.57 ERA. He was the most hittable of the Missouri State triumvirate of starts @ .248. Stony Brook meanwhile has had few issues scoring with 18 runs through two games. The Seawolves have shown that their guady .337 batting average is no fluke. Not 100% sure on the Stony Brook starter, but Stecko-Haley is the normal Sunday start [#3]. He was 7-3 with a 3.08 ERA. He's another guy who pitches to contact with just 11 walks all year, so Missouri State should be ready to see strikes. He gave up six runs in his last start last week in the America East Championship Game against Maine. Given Stony Brook's offensive prowess, they could easily do this damage alone. I feel comfortable with this one being a two unit bet as well.

Kentucky against Purdue in an elimination game. The Wildcats send out SEC all-conference selection Corey Littrell. He was 8-2 with a 2.66 ERA on the season. Purdue used up their top two pitchers in Haase & Breedlove, so they will turn to Robert Ramer likely who pitched Purdue to the Big 10 tournet title. Ramer was 6-0 with a 2.68 ERA. I think this game is much closer than these odds suggest. Pressure is on Purdue @ home to not get oustered as the #1 seed, while Kentucky showed nice resolve yesterday in bouncing back from the 21 inning heart breaker to Kent State. The Wilcats played in the toughest conference and were among the best teams all year until a late slump. Getting the juicy odds, worth the squeeze.

My TCU boys off to a good start to eliminate those f-ing Aggies! Would be quite an upset to me for TCU to get to the regional final in this region against Ole Miss. Long way to go.

June 3rd [Charlottesville Regional] Appalachian State +3.5 [-110]
Remember this is just the 2nd game for both in this rain delayed regional, so a loss doesn't kill either. Virginia is going with Artie Lewicki, while Appy state goes with Seth Grant who had a 3.33 ERA. The Mountaineers obviously have no fear as they beat #2 Oklahoma yesterday, although made anxious in the 9th [5-4 final]. This team also went on the road and took two of three @ LSU in the regular season, so Charlottesville won't be scary. They hit .307 as a team with six regulars over .300. UVA hit .298 as a team and put up nine to open this Region against Army. I think the key for Appalachian State is simple. They need a quality start because their bullpen is not a strength. If they have to dig into the pen early, they could be in trouble. However, UVA has a penchant for playing closer games at home and has had some anxious moments @ home in the postseason before.
