#534Early start. 10:30am ET.
SEC Tournament: Ole Miss +100
As we'll see all tournament, a solid pitching match-up in this one. Ole Miss won their single elimination game yesterday and will go with #3 starter Sam Smith today. Barrett Astin goes for Arkansas. A stellar 2.02, but his .246 BAA shows that he his hittable. His last two regular season starts were shaky. Ole Miss faced him in relief in the regular season, getting a run off him in 1.2 IP. Smith limited Arkansas to one run in 5 IP in one of the Rebs' two wins @ Arkansas. The offenses are about even with Ole Miss scoring about 30 runs more, but they do boast almost a 20 pt. difference over Arkansas in batting average. The bullpens are both solid, but bar-none ... Arkansas has the best pen in the nation to bolster their D1 leading 1.90 team ERA. Expect both pens to be involved. For Ole Miss, the longer their pen is not involved, the likelier they are to be in position for a win. Motivation for both should be fairly even. Neither team is going to miss out on the Regionals, but the Hogs could potentially host a Regional with a good showing in Hoover. Arkansas stumbled into the postseason a bit with losses in two of three @ Auburn, a series where they were shut out once and scored just once in another game. Ole Miss has the win over Kentucky yesterday and some confidence after beating LSU 11-9 in their regular season finale. Arkansas has struggled offensively too much this season, while Ole Miss has come around a bit in the last three weeks where they can count on four runs in most games. Defense could be a huge key today. Razorbacks sport the worst fielding percentage with a SEC worst 80 errors. Ole Miss wasn't a ton better with 66, so watch for unearned runs to possibly provide the winning margin.

#535ACC Tournament: Georgia Tech +165 *Risking 0.5 unit
The Seminoles do battle against Georgia Tech. Sitz goes for FSU & Farmer for Tech. Sitz has been the most consistent starter for the 'Noles this season with a 1.66 ERA. He is hittable, but he has done a great job of getting out of jams. He has pitched against Tech already and gave up two unearned runs in 5.1 IP in a 10-3 FSU win. Farmer shut out FSU over 7 IP in Tech's lone win over the Seminoles, 10-0. Farmer was easily the team's top pitcher with a 2.80 ERA. He is also hittable, but can flat out dominate as well with 104 Ks in 96.1 IP. Offensively, both these are explosive. Tech ranked 3rd in runs scored and FSU 4th. Tech led the ACC with 54 home runs, which also ranks 7th in D1. FSU has the better bullpen by far, but Tech does have a couple quality arms. Very important for Farmer to go deep in this game. Fielding is fairly even with FSU a little lower on the totem pole there. Motivation is big for the Yellow Jackets. They have to do damage in this tournament for any shot at furthering their postseason play. FSU is fairly comfortable as a Top 8 national seed already and really only needs to avoid a major flop in the tournament. 11am ET start.

#538We'll see what else might get posted, but this is the only afternoon play I have based on the available lines. Maybe something from the SEC/ACC this evening.
ACC Tournament: Virginia -175
The Wahoos are on a roll heading into today's meeting with Virginia Tech, but the Hokies have been rock solid lately as well. Va.Tech took two of three from UVA early in late April in Blacksburg. UVA though has won seven of eight since that series, including two of three @ North Carolina. They have averaged 11 runs per game in that stretch. UVA starts Freshman Brandon Waddell, while Va.Tech goes with Senior Joe Mantiply. Mantiply limited UVA to three runs in 7 IP when they faced earlier. Waddell gave up six runs when facing the Hokies in 5+ innings, but picked up the win. Both are hittable with identical .276 BAA. Mantiply is the better talent, but Waddell kept his team in the game against UNC last weekend with seven innings, allowing four runs. With the UVA offense being what it is, that probably gives the Wahoos a chance to win most times. UVA scored the 2nd most runs in the ACC and finished tops in batting average. Va.Tech was 5th in runs scored and batted a robust .290 as a team, but that is 27 pts lower than this top tier Virginia attack. Fielding? Both have some deficiencies, but Tech finished with a league worst 83 errors. Bullpens will likely be big here and that favors Virginia. Va.Tech also has to prove it can win away from their friendly confines at English Field, while UVA has won everywhere this season. May be a high scoring battle, but I think UVA's superiority shows through in the end.

#543Suckfest of a start for UVA. Had the bases loaded in the 1st with one out and got nothing. Error started the 2nd and Tech pounded a couple hits after that to run out to a lead. Very early and I do expect that six runs or more will be needed to win this one.Comment -

#545What a horrid effort from UVA. Tech is pounding them. Grand Slam. 10-1. One for tonight. Pitching edge large to Clemson with Daniel Gossett. NC State tosses out Brad Stone who sports a 6.23 ERA. Clemson took two of three. Stone did limit Clemson to one run in 4.1 IP in the lone Wolfpack win. Gossett has shut down some big time offenses, including FSU in his last start. This game is on him if Clemson wins. Their offense alone doesn't stack up with the Wolfpack, but if they can get to Stone early and get into the NC State bullpen while Gossett gives them a quality start - Clemson can win. Neither team is in jeopardy of missing the Regionals, so motivation should be even.

#547Thought a lot about this. Lost some on the price, but wanted to research it all.
SEC Tournament: South Carolina -185
Gamecocks send out their best in Nathan Belcher. He limited this Missisippi State squad to one run before the bullpen imploded in a 5-4 loss @ State. State won two of three in Starkville against SC. They come in off a marathon 17 inning game. They will put out Luis Pollorena who was beat up for four runs in 4.2 IP in the same start opposite Belcher. The State bullpen shut it down after that, but faces a tough task with all their best arms having pitched at least two innings out of the pen last night. The offenses were very close in run production, but SC has superior power with 46 HRs this season. Key here is Pollorena. If he gets beat up early, I think State elects to take one on the chin to save the bullpen for the rest of the tournament. Surely, MSU could come out invigorated by the late win - but there's also the possibility of them being gassed. SC should look to take advantage.

SEC Tournament: Alabama +140
I left my nice, neat write-up sitting in a document on my home computer. So a condensed version. 'Bama starts Sophomore Spencer Turnbull. He's got some big game experience and has some solid pitching efforts against some of the SEC big boys like Arkansas, LSU & his last start against Vanderbilt. Ole Miss sends out seldom used Freshman, Jacob Waguespack. Expect the bullpen to be involved if he falters. Ole Miss sweeped 'Bama at home, but the games outside of the opener (5-0) were all decided late. Turnbull pitched solidly in a start there, six innings, two runs given up before the bullpen faltered. Both bullpens generally have solid back-end production. Offenses almost dead even in runs scored. Give 'Bama the defensive edge though. I'll take Turnbull's big game experience here over the Freshman at a decent price in what is basically a pick 'em.Comment -

#555Big 12 Tournament: Texas Tech +130 *Risking 0.5 unit
First glance, most will see Kansas State - the top seed at -170 as a bargain. Closer inspection though and I think Tech has a legit shot to pull off the upset. #1, the trend is their friend. The #8 seed, the Red Raiders slot in 2013, has beaten the top seed in the Big 12 Tournament four of the last five years. #2, they send out their ace Trey Masek who did not face K-State in the three game series sweep for the Wildcats at home. Masek nursed tendonitis early in the season, so he has just ten starts under his belt. He has been dominant though with a 1.52 ERA. He will need to be every bit that good against the top htting team in the Big 12. K-State sports a .324 team batting avg and scored 345 tuns to lead the league. Tech bats .262 as a team and scored about 50 runs less. They do come in hot though with 32 runs scored in their last three as they blew the doors off Baylor pitching last weekend. K-State starts Blake McFadden. He is the epitomy of a pitcher. Not dominant, but he knows how to pitch. He limited Tech to one run in 5 IP in one of the Wildcats' wins over the Red Raiders. K-State has some good arms in their pen. Tech does not, so the pressure is on Masek to deliver. Factor in though that K-State doesn't have any pressure on it to start, so they could be flat like we saw with Vandy in the SEC & Virginia in the ACC. Tech only has one way to the Regionals and that is to win the Big 12 tourney, so their motivation should be high.
Not 100% sure obviously - but you might get a better price if you wait as the public should be pounding K-State. I may wait 30 minutes to see if it moves. 1:30pm ET start.
