Not silent onner, just had you down as the 14th 5-year-old I was going to respond to today. Good luck on your 10-point bet on the Giants to win the Series.

I think most on here have crowned the Giants already. No doubt the Giants are in the drivers seat, but if they lose tonite the series will look very different in a hurry.

Didn't the Rangers lose Gm1 to the Yankees? Who end up winning that series?

I think everyone is kidding themselves about jumping off the Rangers. Its unfortunate to lose game 1, especially with C.Lee, but it is what it is. One game of 7. The Rangers have to win games besides the ones Lee pitches to win the series. Cliff didn't have his stuff last night, period. He knew it early on. But its not like the Giants beat them 11-0. It was 11-7. Truth is, as bad as Lee was, the Giants should have scored 20, and the Rangers were unlucky not to have scored 5-6 more themselves. This is the only game this postseason that the Giants have scored many runs....that same thing can't be said about Texas. They're averaging about 7 runs/game. To think C.Lee was going to win 3 WS games this year was kidding yourself. It wasn't going to happen. But I have a feeling the Giants will see a different pitcher when they face him next time. The reality of it is....you hope to come back to Texas with a split, CJ wins tonight and that's exactly what you have. Texas has proven they will usually score a bunch of runs regardless of who's pitching.....I don't think the Giants can make that same claim. I think SF had their best night against a guy who was bound to come back to earth. I have serious doubts they don't come back down themselves soon.
I. personally, am not ready to surrender just yet. I'd think about it for awhile before abandoning ship. MidgetTosserOffer can say all he wants about this being the Giants destiny. The truth is the Rangers deserve a title as much or more than anyone. And this isn't about destiny, its about who is the better team at the time...and my $ says that's Texas. We shall see......

I hope you win your bet, and would never think of myself as being the sharp that you are. I mean, what a life you lead. Cashing thousands of dollars worth of wagers each week while sitting at home and having dear old mom bring you cheesy poofs and Jolt colas. Best of luck, young man.

Eh, no big deal JMobile, some people just lead such sad, pathetic lives that piling on the occasional failures of others is the only way to give them some joy.

Oh no! History tells us that the only thing that trumps "they are due" is "they have to win this game".
Oh well, so long Giants, it was so nice to believe for a couple of seconds that we had a chance

Nothing hurts like losing a bet on your hometown team. Its a double gut punch. That was painful to watch. Texas needs 4 out of the next 5. Long odds..but not impossible. Lets go Rangers.

JJ, I'm not looking to be anyone's hero. If Texas rallies to win this Series, it will be because Colby Lewis, Michael Young & Company are baseball heroes, not because I picked the Rangers. I even stated up front that I've been wrong about Texas the previous two playoff series, and was probably wrong about them here as well. There's no reason for the Giants to have outscored Texas 20-7 in the first two games, no reason other than, "that's baseball." I don't live my life through sports teams that win/lose, not about to let the Rangers being down 0-2 dictate whether I enjoy the weekend that is in front of me.
In fact, I intend to thoroughly enjoy myself tonight at a little pizza joint about 20 miles from here. It's owned and operated by a former Super Bowl winning NFL lineman who is a great guy, brews his own beer (now that's a hero to me ) and is very interesting to talk to about pro sports in general since he's seen it up close and personal. While I'm doing that, the beemore's and aceofspades's of this world will be likely sitting in front of their computers worrying about their SBR points.

Willy it has been proven in the thread that I bet real cash and not points
In fact check my points logs on all of my accounts and you will find I have made 0 sbr store purchases
Furthermore, if you looked you would see that I give all of my points away
But I guess that doesn't fit in with your joke as it's all you got

yeah, what gives?
didn't realize they were that popular of a franchise.
this also happens to every team that is in the superbowl as well.
